Arnbjorn: I love you . . . I'd kill for you, y'know that? I'd kill for y—
Astrid: You just want an excuse to kill Cicero, don't you?
Arnbjorn: Well—

I have never felt so much joy than when I spared that sumbitch Cicero. I mean, what a whimsical motherfucker, I read a few of his journals and my brain started frying cause of how chock-full of lore all his entries are. It was so worth it to get killed by that damn troll 3 times, I do not care. I don't think I loved anyone more than I loved that stupid fuck jester.

Kesar running for his life from the guards after murdering Gaius Maro in Whiterun in broad daylight to Spin Me Round (Like a Record) and proceeding to steal Vilkas’s horse, murder Faendal for getting in his way, having a mental breakdown as he pushes his dead body into the river, and then sprinting all the way back to the Falkreath sanctuary only to find that one of the few he considers a friend has been injured by the person he has come to care the most about and he must now murder him.

A bunch of philosophers playing difficult mind games
Quid Game, if you will.
Finally, those Roman aristocrats can make their pet philosophers useful for something other than annoying the dinner guests! Just chuck all the philosophers in a pit armed with nothing but writing tablets and a plucked chicken (for Diogenes, who came back from the dead just for this occasion).
It all goes horribly wrong when a band of time-traveling Latin students chuck Cicero into the pit, too.

Artanis: It's pretty cold outside . . . Wanna hold hands? We should stay close.
Farkas, smiling: Okay.
Cicero: It’s frickin' summer.

Of his opinions and the image he held of how the Dark Brotherhood operated without an understanding of why the sanctuary operated this way. Perhaps he had spent too long with the Night Mother to get a grasp on reality.
For a coven full of murderers, his threat falls on deaf ears. Astrid would wish worse on him, yet she has the poise and patience to not make it known. Cicero might have an inkling that she desires to see him dead, but for now, she’ll leave it to the back of her mind. All considered, Astrid was being generous for what she was capable of.
Her brows raised as she spoke each word thoroughly, slowly in a way to make it engraved on his mind as she leaned over to face him face-to-face. ❝ Need I remind you of our single rule, Cicero? Or, rather, what the Dark Brotherhood tenets spoke of? I would think you of all people would remember the tenet of not harming a member of your family. ❞ Whatever it stated exactly, Astrid forgot, but that hardly mattered when those tenets served no purpose here. For a time, the Dark Brotherhood abided by these rules, but it ultimately led to their undoing. Cicero had no idea what Astrid had to sacrifice to gain her position in the Dark Brotherhood.
