Poornima - Channe Ke Khet Mein 1994

Anjaam (Consequence) is a 1994 Indian Hindi-language psychological thriller film directed by Rahul Rawail. It stars Madhuri Dixit and Shah Rukh Khan in lead roles with an ensemble supporting cast. The film's music was composed by Anand-Milind, with lyrics written by Sameer. The film is about a woman facing the brunt of her obsessive stalker. It also focuses on the atrocities committed against women. At the 40th Filmfare Awards, Anjaam won Khan the Best Villain award for his performance. Madhuri Dixit repeated the iconic dance moves for the song in the 2022 Netflix series The Fame Game when her character meets some fans dancing to it.

Poornima Shrestha was the first successful child singer in Hindi films, and became one of the most prolific female playback singers in Bollywood during the 1990s. She was one of the top-ten selling 1990s artists with her album Mera Dil Bole Piya Piya. Poornima has sung in many languages including Bengali, Nepali, Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Gujarati, Oriya, Rajasthani, Assamese, Haryanvi, Garhwali and Arabic. Apart from films, she has sung numerous songs in genres such as Baal Geet, Bhavgeet, Bhajan, Ghazal, Chutney and Indipop.

Maya × Poornima

The first of many

From Maya's POV

Aishu got evicted this weekend. I won't lie, it felt like a blow to our faces. My confidence level plunged. I highkey think I'll be eliminated next week based on the audience response yesterday.

Poornima is as distraught as I am. She won't stop crying. It was a roller coaster of emotions yesterday. I see something, I feel something. I don't know if it's just me or her too. I don't want to read her wrong. I don't want to think any further from the game while I'm in this house. What I do know is that her hugs heal me, its the only positive energy I get here now.

We were both assigned to be in the vessel washing team this week by the new captain. As tiring as it wad today, it was fun too. We had BB guests, the day ended late and I only got to bed past midnight. Just as I was about to drift away into deep sleep, Jovika woke me up. She asked that I please help to wash some vessels and plates so that work will be easier for her team tomorrow morning. As drained as I am, she was right. I rather clear the dishes now rather then do it in the morning while I'm possibly cranky.

So I leave the bed quietly. Go to the kitchen and start doing the dishes. About 5 minutes later I saw the sleepy head walking towards to kitchen. She hugs me from the back, rests her head between by shoulder blades, closes her eyes.

Me: Go sleep Poornima. I'll be done with this in no time.

Poornima: Hmmmmm.......

God, this girl. Her warmth. Her hug. I look at the camera that is turning towards me. And gesture to my heart beating.

Poornima, *eyes still closed* : Maya, stop talking to the camera and wash the vessels.

I smile to myself. She knows my gesture even with eyes closed. She snuggles closer to my back, her arms around my hip tightens.

Me: Yes ma'am.

I was done with the dishes in 15 minutes. Cleaned the basin area. Good to go back to bed now. I loosen her arms around me and turn to face her.

Me: Let's go to bed.

Poornima: Yes, but say goodnight to me first.

Me: Good Night Poorni Ma

Poornima: mmhmmmm, and then?

Me: and then?

She tilts my chin up. And then tilts her head down to position her forehead on my lips. I froze. She wants a forehead kiss. I could gove her that. No harms.

Me: Not here, 60 cameras watching us.

Poornima pouts. And she nods. So i lead her back to our bed. We got to bed, lied as close we can to each other. Usually we don't share a blanket. But today we do. I need her warm hug.

We face each other. I can feel her breath against my lips. We move closer. I see certainty in her eyes. She knows what she is doing, she knows what she wants. We close the gap.

I feel her soft lips against mine. It was a slow gentle kiss. We were in no rush. We are in our own little world here. Just me and her. Second pass by, then minutes, then those minutes changed to hours. There was no fight for dominance. We both submitted to each other. Sometimes she gets the lover lips and at other times me. She said "no tongue" in between the kiss.

I feel ecstasy. I'm on cloud nine. I sense butterflies. I feel hopeful, i feel a fresh breath of air. And we lost track of time. We must have fallen asleep at about 5 am or so, I could see the sky turning colour by the time we decided to go to sleep. This was a mindblowing first kiss.

The next morning, the dance alarm rings. Today its "Love pannu" song from 12B.

We danced and sang together. She woke up smiling this morning, my heart is fluttering.

The song ends.

Poornima: Last night :) (her smile is driving me crazy when her eyes are looking at me with affection - love? Maybe)

Me: We'll speak about this outside okay.

Poornima: Yes, but :))))))

SHE IS AMAZING. She slowly lets go of my hand to go shower.
