genuine no judgement question for people who always make the same looking character in games and stuff: why? is it a self-insert or looks like you? do you just have one oc who you really like and move them from media to media?

i always make different new characters for each new thing, so it’s always made me curious when i see people just making the same person over and over

#theres a person i follow on bsky #who posted pictures of their ocs from several different games #and it was all exactly the same woman but like. sometimes an elf #and i was like huh #there are traits that typically end up in most of my ocs #like brown skin and weird colored hair and eyes #but i dont think i have any or many ocs where its the same guy just ported to a different universe #i just like making new guys #so im genuinely just curious about people who dont #its always fun to find out how your brain differs from others #like when i found out my friend physically cannot visualize things

The marvel of technology is that a large wall clock in my living room quits working, and I order a new movement for ten bucks, but when the quartz movement goes out in my watch, I’m quoted more than $200 to replace it when the watch wasn’t worth that to begin with.

When the backlight goes out on my laptop screen, I’m quoted anywhere from $300 to $700 to fix it (and highly discouraged to do so because despite working perfectly it’s almost ten years old), then told its a motherboard issue, thereby forcing me to buy a new laptop anyway for hundreds more. But a lightbulb in my room costs like three bucks to replace.

#honestly. fuck apple #I’m very much considering returning to windows. that’s what it’s coming to #and I’m not like ‘apple superiority’ or whatever. I’ve used apple for some years now #but ngl. I think technology peaked with windows 7 #windows 7 my beloved #I’ve liked the apple interface better since i got a mac laptop. I’d go back to windows but I think they’ve gotten worse as well #windows 8. imo a monstrosity and crime against humanity #my dad has a (suuuuper basic) window laptop. which I reckon has window 11 #it’s meh. not a big fan #BUT GOD FORBID APPLE SELL A REGULAR QUALITY LAPTOP WOTH A USB A PORT #FUCK APPLE. FUCK THEM SO MUCH #and it’s like I can pay 200 bucks or more for more storage. or I can use an external hard drive #I’d buy one of those slim thumb drives that barely stick out from the laptop. and be totally cool. cheaper than extra storage #but oh hey. look. they don’t make discrete flash drives for type c usb yet because they can’t make it that small yet #well I have the laptop. and I have the return policy. and I might use it #when fixing something is more expensive than buying a new one. we’ve fucked up as a society #and well. it’s pretty screwed for a good while now #Linux is also coming into play. I’ll do anything at this point #I just want my old laptop to work again. it’s my baby and I’ve cried several times over its demise

Going through a straight up comical amount of irritating situations to get the stupid 4* guaranteed ticket from the welcome to sekai campaign. It Will Be Mine.

#I’m resuming this tomorrow it’s been hours now I’m just mad #I’m home because my parents are moving to a different state and I needed to pack whatever was left #and for some reason we just keep old devices when we’re done with them #so I borrow an adapter to allow me to connect my ancient unworking iPad mini to my laptop #factory reset it. i have to reset an old email to access the old Apple id to fully reset it.#it won’t connect to the wifi so I have to reset the settings. i find out it’s too old to run pjsk.#i find an old phone that should work. i reset it as well. I’m able to download pjsk & it takes 20 minutes.#pjsk crashes everytime I try to open it. i attempt to run bluestacks on my computer. bluestacks doesn’t have 64 bit for mac yet.#i get a free trial of parallels and download windows onto my laptop. this takes 40 minutes.#i try to download and run bluestacks on that. m1 macs apparently can’t run bluestacks 64 bit through parallels.#i go find the final old phone that I had forgotten about. it takes forever to charge because the charging port is fucked up. i reset it as #well. it can’t connect to wifi. i try a hotspot on my current phone. service is too awful. i try to do wifi sharing from my laptop.#you have to be connected to the router via a cable for that to work.#at this point it has been like 3 hours. I’m giving up because I’ve been down this route before #when I attempted to run 32 bit steam games on m1 mac #(wine64 doesn’t exist for m1 macs yet -> attempt to run boot camp -> boot camp isn’t a thing anymore on Apple silicon -> attempt to run #several different programs that allow me to run windows on a mac. none of them work. ->#look into linux & give up. -> attempt to implement the unfinished/unbottled wine64 code thru terminal. ->#fuck up and delete some important file & have to fix that (misery inducing) -> keep trying. i think I downloaded a Mac coding program at #some point? i realize I have zero coding knowledge and this is a mistake. -> give up and purchase crossover. game doesn’t even work. ->#3 months later update to the latest OS so I can have enough storage to play psychonauts 2. find out the $60 crossover #purchase was a bad idea because ‘heehee crossover doesn’t work on that buy the new version’ (fuck crossover).#my toxic trait is my belief that I can figure out anything via google and sheer stubbornness. usually this is true. occasionally there are #exceptions to this rule. most of them are because owning Apple products is a mistake.#i think if I reset the router tomorrow I can solve this problem but I can also just go elsewhere with better service or wait until I’m home #now it’s a matter of pride. and also free 4*/I have nothing better to do because I’m stuck here until Tuesday.#<- this is all normal behavior by the way. who doesn’t spend 8 hours ramming their head against a problem every once and a while. enrichment #mine #oh I forgot. i also looked into cloning the app but that would cost money for something that might not even work.#‘just log out and make an alt’ and risk losing my account? I misplaced my black facepaint and skully animal mask for my Halloween costume this year (at a halloween party today)—so my family picked up a replacement for me from the dollar store. smth close enough so i'm not in a suit for no reason

The difference between the two is: the original had big horns, so my head looks a little empty—

but this one DOES have open hole in the nostrils of the skull...

SO obviously i fed a straw through and im sipping my drink through it. Feels very silly. However also correct. I don't have to move it off to eat hehe. I still wish i had my black facepaint but sipping thru face hole with a straw is so funny to me i love it

June 4, 2025 - Dockers at a major French port on Wednesday refused to load a container with machine gun spare parts bound for Israel, saying they “will not take part in the ongoing genocide (in Gaza) orchestrated by the Israeli government,” according to broadcaster Franceinfo.

Dockers at the port of Marseille-Fos have set aside a container containing "spare parts for machine guns," and they "will not load it onto the ship bound for Haifa" in Israel, the Gulf of Fos branch of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) announced in a statement.

The union confirmed that it was alerted by several networks that 19 pallets of Eurolink belts were to be shipped to Israel on Thursday. The Eurolink belts are spare parts for machine guns used by the Israeli army.

"The port of Marseille-Fos must not be used to supply the Israeli army. The dockworkers and port staff of the Gulf of Fos will not take part in the ongoing genocide orchestrated by the Israeli government. We stand for peace among people.
