In this week's studio, we practised using all the equipment(camera, computer, lighting setup, etc.). It was really fun getting to use the professional equipment. For our activity, we had to get into groups and take portraits of each other, and in my group, I was the first one to go.
Ethan was my subject for the portrait. Completely clueless as to what I wanted to do, I just went with the first pose I could think of a walking and looking pose. I think I was able to execute what I had in my head with the expression and lighting, but I wish I had done something more expressive. it was definitely a learning curve with directing other people with lighting and telling them what pose and expression I wanted.
my photo was taken by miranda. That day i didn't feel comfortable to taking my mask off so i made it a little bit more difficult for miranda. the biggest difference i felt as a subject from photographer was the lack of knowing.
this was really great experience for getting to understand the dynamic in what taking a portairt photo is like. And how important planning is before a shoot. I quickly got comfortable with the equipment and i some confidence for whenever my next shoot is.
