honestly i'm really really really getting tired of trans woman noel content lol. he's canonically gay. as a gay man, him being a gay man is very important representation for me and it feels awful when people take it away. headcanoning characters who are canonically male as trans women is totally fine, and i do it myself, but noel is a gay man in canon and it's explicitly stated multiple times. a chunk of his monologue is about how he had to tone down his gay-ness to try and fit in. he's stated to be the only gay man in a small rural school. he's positive gay representation! i know he said he wants to be a female prostitute in france bu that fantasy wasn't about wanting to be a girl, it was about wanting to have a tragic life because his life in uranium was so boring and depressing that he wanted some kind of extreme. to me, the whole "i want to be that fucked up girl thing" isn't about a true desire to be a girl, but a desire to escape homophobia (straight girls do not face homophobia) and his life in general. there's nothing at all wrong with transfem gay noel or non binary noel or noel using she/her pronouns but please stop erasing the fact that he's gay! literally anyone else in the cast, from what i can tell (i am tme, though, so please correct me if i'm wrong! i've ran this by my transfem rtc fandom friends btw), can be headcanoned as a trans woman without erasing anything except for noel, so it'd be great if certain sections of the rtc fandom would stop ignoring that

I love shows like The Owl House or The Two Princes (which is a podcast but shut), where the main characters are queer as fuck, but their main problems aren’t related to their sexualities. Yes, there is a mention of homophobia in TTP, but it’s not their biggest problem. It’s not even an obstacle. They’re just like “yeah, we know ppl aren’t ready to accept gay marriage, but honestly fuck them bc we saved the world twice and were in love”
It’s honestly a nice escape for their audiences, who are also most likely queer themselves and face discrimination bc of it, or fear they will. Seriously, in a fantasy world full of demons and witches and whatnot, homophobia should honestly be the least of your worries, and I’m glad the creators of these shows have acknowledged that.
I would honestly love to see more fantasy based shows/movies where the protagonists main problem isn’t the fact that they’re gay af, but instead having to save the world from some evil creature. And, yes, it’d be nice to not see any homophobia in shows/movies based in our world, it’s sadly unrealistic and honestly makes more sense in fantasy settings imo. Especially if it’s not a common thing to see 2 dudes kissing, but it’s honestly not the weirdest thing these ppl have seen. And yes, I know there’s plenty of books where there’s basically no cishet characters and virtually no homophobia, but it’s honestly more refreshing to see that in shows/movies bc it’s hard to find shows/movies that have any LGBTQIA+ representation in them.
But, that’s just my opinion, I guess.

I'm not sure how much you know about Welcome to Night Vale, but could you make a gender related to being a Desert Bluffs citizen?

i'm sorry but people's biggest issue with glee's biphobia (that i see get voiced most often) being the fact that blaine ended up gay instead of bi is INSANE to me. you're telling me that a canon queer character who briefly questions his sexuality and decides he is in fact gay (an experience that i know for a fact quite a few queer ppl DO relate to) is a bigger biphobia issue than any of the shitty lines about bisexuality the show gave to kurt or santana

Baymax! is important to me for do many reasons. I will briefly go over the main 2:
1) The representation. Younger trans/queer folk are so incredibly lucky to have the trans guy buying period products & to have Mbita and Yukio. Its such positive rep, its not made into a big deal by the show its shown as normal everyday life. Just a normal guy buying normal profucts. Just a normal romance. I adore it. I get emotional thinking about it. Because if I had that sort of rep, that sort of positive normalisation when I was younger I would’ve been so happy to see people like me.
2) Kiko reminds me of my dauntie. And it makes me emotional. She looks like her and she acts like her and it makes my heart hurt. But I also love it. Kiko’s episode brings me comfort honestly
Giving Disney NONE of the credit for the reasons I like this show. Thank you to the animators who are mostly the ones who push for representation. Thank you so much :)

Rewatching I Love You Philip Morris again for the first time in literally YEARS and it's so funny seeing people in the tags call it niche. I remember being a kid and people making a huge deal out of it because it was these 2 relatively well know and respected actors playing gay extreme leads and also there was the whole dramatic delay with getting the movie distributed in the US cause of the content and because of legal issues with the original distributor.

It’s Norway 1904, and Asta Hedstrom doesn’t want to marry her odious betrothed, Nils—even though a domestic future is all her mother believes she’s suited for, on account of her single-sided deafness, unconventional appearance, and even stranger notions. Asta would rather spend her life performing in the village theater with her friends and fellow outcasts: her best friend Gunnar Fuglestad and his secret boyfriend, wealthy Erlend Fournier.
But the situation takes a dire turn when Nils lashes out in jealousy—gravely injuring Gunnar. Shunning marriage for good, Asta moves with Gunnar and Erlend to their secluded cabin above town. With few ties left with their families, they have one shot at gaining enough kroner to secure their way of life: win the village’s annual horse race.
