What if the Axolotl brought Bill back as a regular Flatlander though. The only powers he gets to keep are either neccessary to his survival as a 2D being in a 3D space or just convenient like levitation. The Pines have to deal with a tiny sentient shape that's so so mad now. Mabel thinks he's weirdly adorable until he bites her finger. Ford feels unthreatened enough at one point to want to study him like a bug.

Explain Yourselves AU:
Spent all of class coming up with this instead of taking notes. Enjoy
Edit: Part 2 in the notes!
(Transcribed under the cut)
gravity falls human bill AU where bill comes back as a human except instead of dropping in at the mystery shack, he appears outside of mabel and dipper’s house in piedmont
dipper and mabel have So Much explaining to do
their parents want to call the cops but mabel and dipper are like NO. DONT.
we canNOT let anyone know he’s here and alive. actually we might have to kill him.
parents, hearing their thirteen year olds casually discuss murder: WHAT
theyre like “we have to call the grunkles” and the parents are ?? plural? grunkleS?
then they have to back up nd explain ford
and all of that
this whole time bill is tied to a kitchen chair all gagged and blindfolded and yelling in annoyance
mabel and dipper are ignoring him and the parents are Very Much Not Ignoring Him
they call the grunkles and explain the situation and the parents hear a twin WHAT followed by a lot of yelling and swearing and crashing and then stan says “okay we’ll be there by tomorrow love you kids STAY SAFE BYE”
dipper: wait. if they’re getting here tomorrow then… what do we do with Bill in the meantime?
mabel, behind him holding a frying pan: i have an idea
parents: NO
they ungag him and it’s like. dipper and mabel armed with grappling hook + baseball bat plus their parents standing behind them trying to figure out if a) their kids are having a mental break and b) if they just kidnapped some random dude
these concerns are quickly allayed when bill starts threatening to kill everyone really loudly and graphically
then suddenly dipper is like. wait. if you could kill us by ripping our skin off our bones limb by limb…. why haven’t you don’t that already
bill:
Dipper:
bill:
dipper: ARE YOU POWERLESS
bill: nO-
mabel gets him with the frying pan

Been pondering how I think a Bill redemption would "end" appropriately. Like I love the bill gets turned human approach for a number of reasons but for it to stay that way? Would the Axolotl get him back to his original state once they're sure he won't abuse his power anymore? Can they even do that or is him loosing his power a permanent consequence of him being destroyed? Would they offer to return his power and perhaps Bill ends up rejecting it out of concern of relapsing into previous behaviours? Maybe the Axolotl only turned him human so he could blend in and they're gonna turn him back into a Flatlander (without the world-ending powers) once he has found people who accept him and have healthy constructive relationships with him.
Idk just thinking about this because the problem never was Bill having supernatural powers but him using them for harm and destruction and while I love human turned Bill I don't think it has to be inherent or permanent to his redemption neccessarily. something something bill shouldnt be stripped of the things that make him weird.

Soos is very happy to welcome his new employee/housemate!
With Wendy and Robbie busy until summertime, it'll be great to have more company and help around the shack.
Abuelita also seems fond of the little "gatito".
These ideas have been simmering in my brain for years....

i don't think the hp next gen fandom talks enough about how percy's kids would be treated differently just because they're his.
like, the kids don't know why. neither do their cousins. they're just used to weird looks from their aunt and uncles and grandparents. they're used to fewer photos of their father and more jokes thrown in his direction. they're used to traits they share with percy being seen as a negative.
and maybe it's subtle. maybe their presents at christmas and birthdays aren't as personalized as the presents their cousins get, and maybe they don't notice at first because their parents always try to give them presents they'll definitely love. maybe at family get-togethers, every cousin has one of their favorite sweets made but percy's kids were never asked. but they don't notice this, either, because percy makes a big deal of them baking their favorites together when they get home.
no matter the way you look at it, with percy and audrey or percy and oliver, with percy in gryffindor or slytherin, his kids would've been treated differently by their family.

I find it interesting that regardless of whether a Fidd/Ford meta post is trying to argue that they’re healthy or toxic or in between or whatever they all still tend to take the stance of “Fiddleford is such a saint for putting up with and forgiving Ford!” when the more canon stuff I see about him the more I’m convinced he’s a fucking maniac. I don’t mean this is a “wow McGucket is so problematic, I guess he’s the REAL toxic friend” way, but I do mean this in a way where I don’t find how he acts around Ford very admirable at all.
Like, this is a guy who cannot have a serious argument or disagreement with Ford, not just to the point where he hides his own feelings around him and then snaps, but to the point where he hides his own feelings around him and then snaps and then secretly uses his memory gun to erase it out of both their heads so it’s like the argument never even happened. This is a guy who moved to and stayed in a town full of dangerous monsters that gave him panic attacks because Ford asked him to. This is a guy who moved ten hours away from his wife and small child for a year, visited them once on Christmas, and then immediately flew back to work because he got into a fight with his wife over not buying her a present while he was busy hand-making Ford, a man who doesn’t celebrate Christmas, two presents. This is a guy who started a cult to cope with all of this rather than telling Ford something was wrong. This is a guy who stood by Ford even after receiving a really mean and disrespectful ultimatum from him and only left when he got irrefutable proof that Ford was about to unleash a demon that would devour the earth, and even then he just ran off to forget everything with his cult rather than try to, you know, stop Ford from doing that.
This is him bending over backwards for Ford, yes, but this is fucking insane. Yeah sure he’s pretty put upon by Ford, but he’s also putting quite a lot of this upon himself, because he can’t just have an important discussion with him and will instead martyr himself upon Ford’s disregard endlessly, to the detriment of himself, everyone who knows these two, and, tbh, Ford.
