Reposted from @lashow_ Detroit, Michigan--- A metro Detroit family is reeling after two devastating losses six hours apart. #DavidFowler, 76, and his son, Gary, 56, both died due to complications from the coronavirus, according to Gary's daughter Paris McCray. McCray said her grandfather, David, died on April 6 and her father on April 7 in his Grosse Pointe Woods home. "He was in his recliner... that's where we found his body," McCray said. She added that her mother was asleep in the bed next to the chair when he passed. McCray claims three metro Detroit hospitals declined her father COVID-19 testing and treatment. Since she said three family members have tested positive for the new virus, including their mother, she was rushed back to the hospital on Tuesday due to complications from the virus. McCray believes the system failed her father. They want others to avoid the heartbreak they've endured. 7 Action News reached out to Beaumont, Detroit Receiving and Henry Ford hospitals where McCray said they went to get her father help. While Detroit Receiving Hospital said there is no record of #GaryFowler at their hospital, 7 Action News received a statement from Henry Ford Hospital. WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) — An 11-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday evening in Southeast Washington. DC Police say the shooting happened in the 2800 block of Alabama Avenue SE at around 6:59 p.m. Police say five young men between the ages of 10 to their early 30s were involved in a dispute when several rounds were fired into a vehicle. They say they believe the shooting was targeted at the specific vehicle. The 11-year-old was inside the vehicle during the shooting. Police say the boy was taken to a firehouse in Prince George's County before he was transported to the children's hospital where he was pronounced dead. "MPD will be working diligently to find people involved," said Mayor Muriel Bowser during a press conference at the scene. "This was a child. There were other children in and around the area. Our communities have to speak up and make sure that anyone who knows about this homicide should speak up." This shooting happened a year and two days after the deadly shooting of 10-year-old Makiyah Wilson. Eight arrests have been made in connection to Wilson's death. The latest one, just this week. "Sadly in the case of Makiyah Wilson, we saw a group of people get out of a car and senselessly shoot across a parking lot. (FOX 5 DC) - Police have released the identities of the four people who were killed after the vehicle they were in left the roadway and crashed into a utility pole in Prince George’s County. Officials say 35-year-old Samuel Moss, 24-year-old Shyra Harris, 27-year-old Antonio Price and 21-year-old Jasmine Davis were all killed in the crash that happened Thursday around 10:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Sheriff Road in the Capitol Heights area. Investigators say the preliminary investigation suggests that the SUV was driving westbound on Sheriff Road approaching a car that was making a left turn. Officers say the The driver of the SUV swerved to go around that car and lost control. Police believe the SUV struck a curb, rolled over and struck an electrical pole. Police say two of the occupants were ejected from the SUV. Preliminary, investigators are looking at speed as a possible contributing factor into the crash. Officers found Proctor and a second person, an adult female, suffering from gunshot wounds. Proctor later died from his injuries. The second victim was shot in her leg and has since been released from the hospital. The preliminary investigation reveals Proctor and three people went to the townhome with the intention of continuing a domestic-related dispute that began earlier in the day at a separate location. Once at the townhome, there was a physical confrontation between Proctor and individuals who were at the townhome. One of the individuals who was at the townhome fired a weapon during the altercation. Detectives identified the man who shot Proctor and the second victim. He voluntarily responded to our Criminal Investigation Division last night. He was released pending the outcome of the investigation. Detectives are in the early stages of this investigation and are continuing to conduct interviews and examine evidence. Charles County Sheriff’s Office deputies found Walter Eugene Thomas, 18, shot to death near the 2100 block of Fairchild Court near Freemantle Court just after 12:30 a.m. on March 5. Investigators are working to identify the person or people responsible. Loved ones placed candles, flowers and Thomas’ favorite cookies at the spot where he was killed. His grief-stricken mother said she doesn’t know why her son is gone. Thomas was Foster’s youngest of four boys. He was shot just minutes from his house. Foster said she is lost without her baby. “Every morning he’d get up, ‘Ma, you know I love you, right?’ His favorite thing, ‘Ma, you know I love you, right?’ Or he’d say, ‘Hey, rooster.’ Because he’d always say I’m the rooster and he’s the spring chicken,” she said. A large group of friends and family members stood in a circle, carrying candles. Some wore shirts with Thomas’ photo on it. “We’ve gotta do something about this gun violence, we’ve gotta speak up, we’ve gotta say something.
