@prayforelves I almost missed this cuz it wasnt in an ask but SURE HERE WE GO
4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw
ARMOR. Also women in general really give me the business. I'm slowly getting better but everything I draw tends to have a masculine twinge to it regardless.
Also, hands, which I feel like is a fair answer. I wish I was better at drawing them because they are SO expressive.
12.Easiest part of body to draw
Nothings easy to draw what are you talking about dsjgdfg
With humanoids honestly its less what part is easiest and more what level of clarity is most comfortable. I get the most enjoyment out of art when I'm in the tie-down stage of a sketch, so in that sense, everything's easier cuz the idea is already down from my gesture, but I'm not trying to make everything look good with linework.
Beyond that, my default "easy" subject is always dragons, and if we're going to go there then it's their wonderful toothy faces.
25.Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by
For a long time, Pokemon, especially since back in the day I drew a lot more creatures than I did humans. Double that down by the fact that I drew INCREDIBLY cartoony and you had anyone who didn't actually know what pokemon was thinking I was drawing pokemon.
These days I get asked a lot if I watch anime, which I really don't, but I think its the catch all term for anyone who doesn't know anything about media. If it's semi realistic and not "Disney", it must be anime.
26. What's a piece that got a wildly different interpretation from what you intended
All my art tends to be representational so I haven't encountered this problem, but used to get people who thought I was a furry. Which, wasn't a surprise, since I took a lot of furry commissions back in the day, but I never considered myself one. These days it doesnt happen at all since I completely pivoted and stopped taking commissions altogether.

Schnauzers? Any size? I had a small black schnauzer mix growing up and he was such a good Old Man
Schnauzers are in, i love the look and size of the giants, wirehaired, sturdy. Looks like an old man even when they’re young.

How do you drown a mermaid?  Tie her up, dry her out, then leave her for the high tide, of course.Poor Pinna, if only you had gills. 💔 [ shapeshifter crackship husband has a response to this:  here  ]

Completed commission for @prayforelves She wanted my take on the Pajama Sam games—a series I too have great fondness for! (It’s incredible, all of my commissioners have been very attuned with my interests—I’ve been having a great time with these) This commission got me thinking about the series again, particularly why a computer game from the 90s fills me with inspiration and excitement for independent creators today. But first (full disclosure) I came to the game late. Growing up I had educational computer games, but they were mostly The Learning Company’s somewhat dry and thinly veiled math/reading drills.  What can I say, my parents wanted learning to be fun, they wanted me to want to learn, but their idea of “learning” was narrowly defined to rote drills. Fast-forward to last year when I looked up a play through of Pajama Sam after coming across Humongous Entertainment in some search results.
Two things struck me right away: The learning style was completely different. For a kid who was made to memorize multiplication tables (miserable but worth it), seeing an “edutainment” game call upon logic and open-ended problem solving—one of your first tasks is convincing an anthropomorhic boat that it can float so you can cross some water & progress. Solving the task requires “play”: map exploration and open ended point-and click to find items to demonstrate wood is buoyant to the stupid boat—gave me hellacious “past tense envy” that I didn’t have this growing up.
The second thing that jumped out at me is how easy it is to make a comparable point+click like this now: The tools are very accessible: there are freeware game makers, online tutorials, and the Pajama Sam games only rely on 2D artwork and simple animation—stuff you could throw together in Photoshop (even old Photoshop!)
Basically, this is a fun and well put together game and making something like this is within “weekend project” reach. Can you guess what I’m thinking, fellow artists? Are you thinking it too?

Aren’t you a little old to be into all this
Into what, anon?
You've sent this to my main, where I post stuff about fiber-arts, politics, sociology, pictures of landscapes, videos of cute animals, that fucking chocolate guy, aesthetic photographs, so many foxes, and, oh yeah, media.
I'm guessing it's the last one you're angling at, and the one you're using to get a rise out of me.
But I don't really feel any shame in engaging with the mythology of the modern world, with the stories that humans currently tell themselves, as we've been doing in one form or another since we first looked up at the stars and at the world around us, and created narratives to explain the wonders that we saw.
Enjoying and creating stories is an integral part of human existence, and not one that goes away when you reach an arbitrary number of times around the sun.
So...no. I'm not "too old" to enjoy it. Someone 10, 20, 30, 40 years my senior is not too old to be into "all this". There is no expiration date on any human experience, and you have plenty of time left to find joys in life you didn't know existed when you were younger.
Don't cut yourself off from them because of something so inconsequential as your age.

It is okay to be relieved and happy when someone who has oppressed you dies and can’t keep doing it.
You’re not “dropping down” to the level of someone who hurts you when you celebrate the cessation of pain.

Hi I just discovered your blog and can I just say your dogs are gorgeous and make me wish I lived somewhere near snow so I could teach my (husky/shepherd?) dog to do sledwork like yours! Love your babies :)
Thank you! Snow is great, but you can also do sled working/mushing on dry land, it’s quite popular! Anybody can mush :)
