#preset character

This ask might be a little too broad so feel free to ignore if it is, but I was wondering if there are any IFs where the MC doesn't start off as a blank slate but is already a well-rounded character before the start of the story. By that I mean, they have a preset personality, or a set background, or a set goal, and your choices are more about moving the story forward than creating your own character. (English isn't my first language so idk if I expressed myself well, I'm sorry if I didn't)

another thing: the fact that the default depiction of courier six has them head to toe covered by the ranger armor inherently gives them just a little bit more nonbinary swag than the other protagonists, imo

Character Creator Guide for Zevlor

This uses the presets from the Customizer's Compendium mod. This mod takes you into the character creator which is preloaded with certain selections which aren't 100% Launch-colour Zevlor. When you exit, you still look like him though. With this in mind, I've listed both the original colours (which I assume are beta) and my suggestions for the closest colours to launch.

Body - Asmodeus Tiefling Body 2

Face - Zevlor (contained in the mod)

Skin Color - Red Tone 4 (suggest Chili Tone 4)

Eyes - Demonic Yellow 1

Hair - Elysium Fan

Hair Colour - Black (suggest Brown Gold 3)

Highlights - None (suggest Brown 2 @ 50)

Greying - Grey Natural 1 (suggest Ash Blonde 2 @ 36)

Horns - Custom Zevlor (contained in the mod. Boy is thiccccc)

Horn Colour - Ash 1 (suggest Brown Cold 4)

Tip Colour - Grey Warm 1 (doesn't matter as his horn model doesn't seem to have a second colour channel)

don’t wanna derail the post abt not being able to be fat in bg3 bcus it’s a good post but in addition to the body customization being bad the nonwhite options are also fuckin awful. 3/5 of the faces on most races have white features. There’s like one face on humans that looks vaguely ‘brown’ and the curly hair options are fucking terrible lmao. The long dreads don’t even move with your character and there’s like maybe 7 total curly hair options.

these comments make me feel crazy im playing dai rn and that Frostbite engine is atrocious (aside from the environments) !!!! It cannot do realistic skin texture well at all like HELLO?!?! Cullen are you in there???

I know its a decade old game but look at it versus tw3's REDengine 3 it came out six months after dai but both started development in the same year like

Yes tw3 doesn't have a cc & wasn't plagued by the same production issues (i believe) so i may just be comparing apples to really ugly oranges here BUT i do know the dev's hands were hogtied by using the frostbite engine bc it was never intended for anything beyond a 1st person shooter game.

I HOPE im not speaking too soon but i really cant see this as anything but an improvement over dai's look esp since they re still using frostbite

addendum: is i still think DAI is worth playing for story alone! In hushed whispers has been my fav quest so far and im romancing cullen <3

releasing the character creator for dragon’s dogma 2 before release was a galaxy brain move by capcom and honestly more studios should follow suit

i really think having a preset character for this game is a bad idea. i wouldn't mind the protag being fully voiced but the voice acting and expressions are like really bad in my opinion, and that is really distracting for me.

making a game for something like vampire the masquerade where there should be a lot of customization and making your OWN character, and it being a sequel to BLOODLINES, and not a standalone vtm rpg (where idgaf if theres an established protag like some other vtm games have)... the established character and their name being phyre thing is so lame and dumb. like i want to make my own vampire for a bloodlines game

and also the dialogue for this game just seems so bland and boring . like WHEREE is the bloodlines humor and snark. this does not have the same atmosphere tht bloodlines had.
