For the second day in a row I stumbled upon archival images of royals at work. Let's not forget that I work in a sports channel, so it's pretty uncommon to find that kind of things in my database.
Yesterday I found young Prince and Princess Takamado of Japan in 1991 in Barcelona accompained by Infanta Cristina (while searching footage of the final of the King's Cup that year)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And today I found a young Letizia in 1999 getting ready for her news program (bts really) because her segment started after the sports program that I was searching for (footage of Spain during the sub-20 Word Cup in Nigeria in 1999)
Tumblr media
During the weekend (yep, I have to work next Saturday and Sunday) if I have free time I'll search more of these in case there's something cool.

Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan & Rajwa Al Saif's Upcoming Wedding
Tumblr media
Only one week day left until the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa bint Khaled Al Saif! It will be held on June 1st at 4:00pm at Zahran Palace followed by a reception at Al Husseiniya Palace. The future Crown Princess Rajwa's engagement ring features a large pear shaped diamond but for her henna party she wore a different ring with tilted marquis cut diamonds.
Tumblr media
If Rajwa chooses a tiara that already belongs to the JRF, my choice is Queen Rania's Arabic Scroll Tiara. She has already worn several pairs of earrings loaned by her future mother-in-law so wearing one of her tiaras is a strong possibility.
Tumblr media
However, my prediction is for her getting a brand new tiara especially after Princess Iman debuted a new tiara at her wedding earlier this year. The tiara might be a gift from either from the JRF or from her own family, who are apparently quite wealthy, but I very much doubt that they will release any information about the tiara like they will for the gown.
Tumblr media
Queen Rania hosted the henna party on May 22nd at Raghadan Palace (here's a longer video and the highlight video is below) and King Abdullah will host the sahra party on May 31st at the Bani Hashem Matharib. There's also a concert on the 29th and practices are underway for the parades and drone shows so I expect this to be a pretty big celebration.
youtube
The dress code for the guests will be long dresses but no tiaras. The Jordanian royals aren't very big on tiaras so I wasn't expecting the dress code to include them. Update: Saad Salman is now reporting that the guests will also be wearing tiaras most likely at the banquet following the wedding.
The foreign royals that have confirmed attendance so far are...
Belgium - King Philippe & Crown Princess Elisabeth
Bhutan - Queen Jetsun Pema & Princess Eeuphelma
Brunei - Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah & Prince Mateen
Denmark - Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary
Japan - Princess Takamado & Princess Tsuguko
Kuwait - Sheikh Ahmad Al Abdullah Al Sabah
Liechtenstein - Hereditary Prince Alois & Hereditary Princess Sophie
Luxembourg - Prince Sebastien
Malaysia - King Abdullah & Queen Azizah
Netherlands - King Willem Alexander, Queen Maxima, & Crown Princess Catharina Amalia
Norway - Crown Prince Haakon
Oman - Crown Prince Theyazin bin Haitham
Qatar - Sheikha Moza bint Nasser & Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad
Romania - Princess Margareta & Prince Radu
Saudi Arabia - Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (he's the official representation but I expect more Saudi royals because Rajwa is related to a lot of them through her mother)
Spain - King Juan Carlos & Queen Sofia
Sweden - Crown Princess Victoria & Prince Daniel
United Kingdom - Prince of Wales, Princess of Wales, & Princess Beatrice of York

In his speech, Prince Hassn emphasised the importance of the historical and deep-rooted Jordanian-Japanese relations, which are based on mutual respect. Prince Hassan called for expanding cooperation between East Asia and West Asia.

Furthermore, His Royal Highness stressed the importance of business, science, and culture in building commonalities and enhancing peace, emphasising the need to develop a comprehensive cultural commitment based on dialogue and appreciation for cultural diversity.
His Royal Highness also called for the establishment of a regional knowledge system to share “absolute truths” for regional development, empowerment and individual advancement.
Princess Takamado delivered a speech in which she emphasised the significance of the distinguished relations between Jordan and Japan, which have been strengthened by His Majesty King Abdullah, Her Majesty Queen Rania and HRH Crown Prince Hussein’s recent visits to Japan.
Princess Takamado pointed out that His Majesty King Abdallah has made several visits to Japan, reflecting the exceptional relations between the two countries.
Princess Takamado underscored the importance of Jordan’s role in the region in achieving peace and stability.
Princess Takamado characterised the establishment of the Jordanian-Japanese Friendship Association as “a significant step in the history of relations”, urging all to take the initiative and support bilateral relations as they approach their 70th anniversary next year.
“Today’s celebration of the enduring friendship, which began nearly 70 years ago, marks the beginning of a new era in the history of relations based on mutual respect,” Mazen Darwazeh, the President of the Jordanian-Japanese Friendship Association, said during his remarks.
Darwazeh pointed out that His Majesty King Abdullah attaches importance to the existing partnership between Jordan and Japan, based on the cultural exchanges shared between both countries during His Majesty’s visit to Japan last month.
Darwazeh stressed the importance of expanding relations with Japan at all levels.
Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Okuyama Jiro outlined Japan’s role in supporting development in Jordan through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The ambassador stressed the significance of the Friendship Association in supporting and strengthening relations between Jordan and Japan.
Shefa’a Zghoul, the executive director of the association, presented the association’s plans to expand cooperation and establish more channels of communication with the Japanese community in various fields.
During the ceremony, HRH Prince Hassan and Their Imperial Highnesses were honoured, along with several contributors to the construction and strengthening of Jordanian-Japanese relations, in recognition of their efforts in this context.
The Jordanian-Japanese Friendship Association aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries and strengthen relations in academic, cultural, and economic endeavours.

Saw that Princess Takamado and Princess Tsuguko of Takamado will go to Jordan for Crown Prince Hussein's wedding.
According Japanese reports Crown Prince Akishino couple were invited to the wedding, the invitation arrived in March. However, they already had other planned commitment so after consulting with Emperor, Takamado princess were asked to go instead as their deep ties with Jordan. Their invitation arrived in April.
Princess Tsuguko while studying in England did traveled to Jordan during that time and this is her first official oversea visit.
Since Crown Prince Akishino was invited, may we assume that all heirs are invited?
As far as I know, the stars of the royal guest list for Rania and Abdullah were Queen Sofía of Spain, Princess Irene of Greece, Crown Prince Mohammed of Morocco and Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum of Dubai. Obviously, Abdullah wasn't Crown Prince so we haven't seen a modern Crown Prince wedding in Jordan and the fact they've extended an invite to the Japanese heirs is a great sign but we don't have anything to say they will or won't either way

Bend at Embassy of Canada Prince Takamado Gallery Media: Photography - Sculpture - Ceramics - Animation (2019-12-12 - 2020-04-03)
*Following public health guidance on limiting the spread of COVID-19, the Embassy will be closing all of its public facilities starting March 18, 2020. The work of these five artists embraces varying media and conceptual interests but demonstrates shared influences from studying Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging). These flower-based practices engage environmental awareness around season, change, time and sustainability. Elisabeth Belliveau, Jon Sasaki, Celia Perrin Sidarous, Ewelina Skowronska, and Justin Waddell use found, repurposed, and recycled objects and materials in their work to create works in relation to environments both natural and urban - exploring objects, plants, and adaptation. Discourse surrounding socio-economics, resourcefulness, and the history of still-life and objects in art is highlighted throughout the exhibition.

2019 Travel Grant Recipients (last round)
From Vancouver, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and Glasgow, 34 local artists have stamped their passports with support from the EAC’s travel grant program.
Edmonton’s artists are constantly creating innovative and inspiring new work that begs to be shared with the world. With the support of programs like the EAC’s travel grants, our artists are encouraged to seek out unique opportunities to train and showcase their work, and bring the knowledge and experiences they’ve garnered back home to share with their communities.
With assistnace from a Travel Grant, Randy Kohan and Zaira Makhacheva experienced their first trip to Makhachkala, Dagestan, Russia, to present their bilingual collection of poetry, Hammers & Bells, and participate as judges for a youth poetry competition.
“It was amazing to experience the thirst for poetry that people have in Dagestan! Over the course of our presentations, which included 7 schools, as well as participation at the 8th Annual Tarki-Tau Book Fair, we presented the dual-language edition of my collection of poetry, Hammers & Bells (2019) to over 300 people, and, to our great surprise, we were awarded the prestigious Best Book of Poetry Award at the Tarki-Tau Book Fair’s closing ceremonies.”

Like a few other local musicians, rapper Mouraine travelled to the Yukon to participate in the BreakOut West Music Conference.
“Earlier this fall I had the opportunity to travel to BreakOut West/Western Canada Music Awards to attend a workshop that helped develop my career in music. I had the chance to meet and network with music executives in Canada and from around the world. I am grateful for organizations like the EAC who are willing to fund us to travel, and fund us for other projects that help develop and promote the amazing arts culture that Edmonton has to offer.”

Pianist/composer/educator Tom Van Seters and vocalist Chandelle Rimmer had the opportunity to perform original music from their CD Stillness Falls (Bent River Records) at the 2019 edition of L'Off Festival de Jazz de Montreal.
“It was an amazing experience that furthered our professional development and exposed Montrealers to music created by Edmonton-based musicians. We bring what we learn from experiences like these back to Edmonton as they enhance our performances here in immeasurable ways.”

Note
If they sent personal invites then the invitation would be to William and Catherine, I mean Rania is a literal earthshot prize council member
I do think they were personal because the Japan Imperial Agency confirmed the Crown Prince couple was invited but they can't attend so they're sending Takamado and Tsuguko instead.
