Been brainrotting over Celestia and Luna like a week straight now, I have always loved the idea that they have just been born that way.

They are both alicorns, they are both ancient goddesses, they have both been together since they were born.

They were always meant to stay together and rule together, they compliment each other, by design.

But I also love the idea that they weren't born like that, that eventually they stumbled upon their cutiemarks by simple occurrence, like all the other ponies, that they earned their alicorn status through some ancient epic feat long forgotten, that they just don't see the point in bragging about anymore.

That it was an active choice, active hard-work, to be together, and stay together.

There isn't the reassurance of Fate putting them together, and when Luna is exiled, there's no reassurance that she will ever come back, but no matter what.

They both still choose to keep putting in the work, they still choose to keep loving each other, and they keep choosing each other, millenia after millenia.

And it's always worth it.
