Activated Charcoal Peel-Off Masque 🖤

What is activated charcoal?

Activated Charcoal or activated carbon is produced by heating pulverized carbonaceous substances like sawdust, peat or coconut shells to very high temperatures (600-900 °C) and then activated by steam or hot air to increase its adsorptive capacity for medicinal purposes or as a natural treatment. So it is important to note that activated charcoal is NOT the kind you use for a BBQ grill

Using an activated charcoal masque topically draws bacteria, toxins, chemicals, dirt, oil, and other micro-particles to the surface of the skin. It then absorbs those foreign substances and carries them away when you peel-off the charcoal from your face. I normally do this detoxifying masque a couple times a month 🧖🏾‍♀️

DIRECTIONS 1️⃣Empty 4 capsule of activated charcoal and mix with non-toxic school glue -add glue until the consistency is paste-like. 2️⃣Open pores by placing a hot washcloth over your face then apply the mixture using a brush 3️⃣Let it stay for 20-40 minutes for the masque to completely dry. The masque is dry when you can’t move it around your face. 4️⃣After the given time, start peeling along the bottom of the masque in an upward direction. Do it slowly so you don’t hurt your skin. 5️⃣After the masque has been pulled off, use a warm washcloth to wipe away any leftover of the mixture. 6️⃣Apply a toner (I am using a prototype from my soon to be launched skincare line) to your face to close the pores followed by your favorite moisturizer.

I’ve been feeling so sorry for myself this week. I swear I was on a skin high a few weeks back; now it’s like the Skin Gods are punishing me with a new breakout. I’m used to hormonal ones along my jaw but this week I have 5-6 spots all on my chin.
