Hiiii I really like your work and yes so anyway here goes nothing !
Could you maybe write a top!yeonjun x bttm male reader ?
Where the reader is the 6th member of txt and the plot is up to you (the reader does have a praise kink, tho ... but other than that, I will let you do as you wish ! )
Getting Close
Tumblr media
Minors DNI
Summary: You're the 6th member of TXT, a recent addition to the group, and you're having trouble getting comfortable with the members. As the oldest, Yeonjun takes on the job of caring for the newest member...
Warnings: Male Reader, Top!Yeonjun, Blowjobs, Deepthroat, Cum Drinking, Corruption Kink (lowkey)
Wordcount: 1.9k
The day wasn't too bad but you couldn't help but feel exhausted. It was a photoshoot, an interview, and then you had vocal lessons at the end of the day before being released back to the dorm. You did a lot of work with the other members one-on-one and it felt awkward working with them in less than a whole group setting...
At the photo shoot, you had to work with Taehyun. He was so professional and put together, you felt like a stick figure next to the Mona Lisa. You struggled through the shots with him, trying to lean toward him without being so stiff–but his face never gave away how he was feeling... You wondered if we were annoyed by you slowing him down. Then there was the radio interview with Beomgyu. His personality is something... different. You didn't know how to handle his energy or build off him well, so he spoke for most of the interview. The interviewer commented on your silence, asking if you were introverted. You just agreed with their guess so you'd have to speak less, saving yourself more embarrassment than you were already sitting through. You only remember saying "Hello" and "Goodbye".
Your manager had gotten onto you about trying harder to get progressively better with the group but the members were already so close to each other–there was no space for you...
Lastly, vocal lessons with Yeonjun.
You walked into the practice room, ten minutes early to warm up alone. The last thing you needed was to embarrass yourself in front of Yeonjun–Hybe's prodigy.
You wrapped up your vocal exercises just as the door opened. You stood up and bowed at the door, not looking at who walked in. "Hello," You muttered nervously.
"There's no need to bow, it's just me," Yeonjun said as he stepped into the room. He had a white jacket, a green tank top, and a white beanie. He smirked at you. "What are you being so cute for?"
You sat down, feeling your ears get warmer. "Sorry–I thought you were the instructor."
"I am your instructor today." Yeojun patted your head as he moved past you to the other seat. "The actual teacher couldn't make it so he told me what you'd been working on and asked me to help you."
"Like–together?"
"Yes, together! We're a team now." You'd always practiced alone with the teacher, even recording your debut–alone in the booth. You'd sang in front of fans and the members already, but only songs you'd spent hours and hours practicing. Yeonjun noticed you hesitating. "Are you nervous? I won't judge you, we're a team." Yeonjun emphasized the team by putting his hand on your thigh and shaking it.
"I know we're a team but–"
"No, buts! We're a team. Period. It takes time to adjust, but all the members are here for you–especially me."
You nodded silently. When you were still a trainee, you loved TXT and their songs were always the best to you. Even for monthly evaluation, you'd do a TXT song. Any time you'd hear they were in the building you'd silently hope you'd catch even a glimpse of them while they moved through their day. On the day you were told that you'd be joining TXT instead of debuting in a new group, your heart soared–not realizing it meant you'd have to be with your favorites all the time. The day you were moved into the dorm, the members looked surprised to see you. Apparently, they'd only been told you were coming earlier that day. It was probably unfair to them how they worked from the ground up and you were added in after they'd already poured so much work into their careers. It was tough not to feel like you were riding their coattails–even fans commented on how your spot was undeserved... But Yeonjun's eyes made you forget that horrible pit that had been sitting in your stomach.
You took a chance. After a deep breath, you asked, "How can I get closer to everyone?" Your eyes were wide with wonder.
Yeonjun smiled at you. "You're so cute... Maybe I don't want you to be close to everyone–why not just me?"
"Uhh–"
"I'm kidding, y/n. You should be close to all of us!" Yeonjun slipped his beanie off and shook out his hair. "We'll try taking it one step at a time. We can start getting closer and work together on getting the others in, okay?"
You knew Yeonjun was flirty on camera with the members, but you didn't know he was flirty off camera too. You couldn't tell if he was being serious or if it was just his personality... "Sure, that sounds good."
"That's great. And I've got a great way for us to get close fast." Yeonjun put his hand out to you. "If you want, then we can do it too. All the boys have done it to get closer to each other."
"Just tell me what I need to do." You took Yeonjun's hand. He immediately placed it on his crotch, pressing it against his half-hard cock. You took your hand back, eyes wide. "O-Oh I–"
Yeonjun gently leaned forward, sliding his hand over yours as he gently placed his lips on yours. "Easy. Take it slow," He instructed as he moved your hand again. Right back where he wanted it. His hips rolled into your hand, forcing his bulge to brush between your fingers as his hands cupped your face to hold you in the kiss. His plump lips tasted like strawberries, and his breath was cool and fresh with a hint of mint. When he pulled away, he looked you deep in your eyes. "Okay?"
You nodded. You didn't know what to do, but you knew that you didn't want to fight against it either.
"We're still in the building, so we don't need to get too involved today. Want my hands or my mouth?"
Your brain malfunctioned at his proposition, still trying to process the kiss.
"Cutie, stick with me. If you leave, how can I make you happy?"
"I don't know what to do..." You awkwardly cupped Yeonjun's bulge, feeling his pulse in your hands.
"Did you want to see mine first? That will make it easier." Yeonjun unbuttoned his pants and leaned back. "Go ahead, take them off. You've got me wherever you want me." Yeonjun's voice was a little deeper and softer, almost whispering. His eyes glazed over as he looked at you, waiting for you to do something. Following his lead, you tug at his pants–opening them enough to show his underwear. "Good boy, now the rest," Yeonjun cooed.
"Are you sure?" You asked for confirmation, but your eyes were still glued to his bulge. Yeonjun knew he had you.
"Only if you want it. I won't force you." Yeonjun started to zip his pants up when you stopped him.
"No! I–We should be closer because we're a team."
He nodded. "Now you're getting it, you're a part of my team. And everyone on the team does this. We can't date, and bringing people home is problematic, so we take care of each other's needs..." He stroked your ear. "Can you take care of me? Or do you need me to take care of you first?" He placed his hand on your knee, slowly sliding it up your thigh watching your expression for discomfort. You moved to the edge of your seat, matching Yeonjun, forcing his hand to touch you. "At the same time, then?"
You nodded as you slipped your hand into Yeonjun's underwear. He did the same, slender fingers dipping past your waistband. His cock's tip peaked out from his boxers and as you stroked him, it stretched further out until he slid his underwear down enough for all of him to stand proudly. Maybe you felt too shy, but you stopped Yeonjun from taking off your underwear.
"Okay, keep them on. I can still touch you like this..." While still stroking your cock, Yeonjun kissed you, squeezing your member every few moves to make you flinch.
You copied him, matching his pace and pattern.
"Oh, an observant boy? I expected you to be more playful like Beomgyu..." Yeonjun chuckled as he kissed your nose. "Can I have more, please?" He stood up, placing a hand on your shoulder to keep you seated. His cock, dripping with precum, pointed at you. "Can you suck it, please?" The way he said please make your cock twitch. He wasn't begging, it was more like a strong suggestion. He didn't want to force you to suck his dick, but he really wanted you to do it.
"I can," You said shyly as you leaned forward.
"Thank you, baby. Take your time with it, there's no rush." Yeonjun rubbed your head, letting his hand rest on you as you opened your mouth. You instinctually closed your eyes as you wrapped your lips around him. The feeling of his eyes watching you work was too much, you couldn't look back at him. Your tongue made the first move, swirling around the tip. Yeonjun's moans encouraged you, showing how he enjoyed it. You slowly sank deeper, using your hands to stroke the part that you couldn't cover. "Don't push yourself," Yeonjun moaned. You understood he was trying to be kind, but it made you want to push yourself hearing him be so patient for you. You bobbed your head, moving lower each time until the tip of his cock hit the back of your throat. "Jeez, you're so good. It's so deep in there..." His hand that was resting on your head mixed itself in your hair, making you more excited. You deepthroated him, gagging and gurgling on him, making so much noise. "Y/n, p-please, don't hurt yourself. I–fuck," Yeonjun tried to speak but you didn't give him any time to breathe.
You hollow your cheeks, taking him completely.
Yeonjun's eyes bulged as his knees buckled. "I'm cumming, m'cumming! Stop!" He tried to push you off him, even pulling your hair slightly, but you didn't budge as you held him inside your mouth. Yeonjun realized what you wanted and stopped pushing, instead pushing you down. "F-Fine, then drink it all if you want."
You felt his warm cum shooting straight down your throat, his cock pulsing and twitching as his hips rolled his pelvis into your face. Your nose scraped against his stomach a few times and your eyes rolled back–finally opening.
"Such a good boy, so good. The best!" Yeonjun moaned praises repeatedly until you slid him out of your mouth. His knees finally collapsed and dropped him back into his seat. He breathed heavily to catch his breath. "You didn't need to do so much... for me..."
You wiped a few tears out of your eyes. "I wanted to. I liked it. Hearing you tell me how good I did..."
"Oh?" Yeonjun smirked. "Then I'll tell you when you're doing a good job every time. And I'll make sure the others will too."
"The others?"
"Yeah. After today, they'll want to get close to you too..." Yeonjun kissed your cheek. "But remember who's your favorite. And don't forget I was your first in the group."
You nodded, a plush on your cheeks as you cleaned up your own mess. You hadn't even realized you'd stoked yourself to completion while sucking off your bandmate...

TMNT 87 RaMona Headcanons
Tumblr media
Cause I keep talking about 2012 RaMona so why not give some attention to the ship that started it all?
Raph - Fell first, Mona Lisa - Fell harder
Jokester Jock x Spunky Nerd
Raph's love languages are quality time and words of affirmation. Mona's love language is acts of service and psychical touch.
Mona and Raph are actually the same age, with Mona only being a few months older. The being in college thing is because she's a science prodigy so she got into college early at a young age because of how smart she is.
Raph likes to brag about how smart she is to everyone.
When they argue, Mona usually wins cause she makes fully detailed and witty/logical arguments that just confuse Raph.
Raph was the first person (or mutant) to tell Mona she is beautiful after her mutation. This is what sparked Mona's feelings for him.
Mona likes pineapple on pizza, this horrifies Raph.
Raph sometimes struggles to figure out if Mona is flirting with him or is just teasing him with her overly flirtatious compliments. (The answer is both)
For the longest time these two were just really good friends with some romantic chemistry between them occasionally. Everyone would tell them they'd make a cute couple or assume they're already dating but they'd shut it down and laugh it off (though deep down they both kinda wanted it to be true)
Raph always had a little crush on Mona ever since he first met her, but never had the full courage to tell her how he feels. One time he tried confessing his feelings and ask her out but he ended up messing it up and just telling her a bad knock knock joke instead.
Plot twist: Mona knew he was trying to confess so knowing this "will they won’t they" won’t go anywhere unless one of them makes the first move, Mona took the first step by asking him out, which REALLY caught Raph off guard.
Their first date was at the movies, they saw a romantic comedy, then later got some pizza for dinner and relaxed on a rooftop together watching the stars.
Mona is usually the one who initiates their kisses. Raph is always too shy or stubborn to kiss her, but when he does it catches her off.
Though they are an official couple, the two like to mess with everyone and confuse them by telling their friends that they're still just friends after just making out.
Raph will say a pun and then proceeds to eagerly look at his girlfriend, wanting her approval of whether or not the pun was good.
They would be the first 87 couple to get married.
Raph proposed to Mona immediately after hearing her say a clever pun. She just said it and he quickly dropped down on one knee, no ring, and just asked her to marry him right then and there. She of course said yes.
They'd end up having a daughter named Marie (naming her after Marie Curie, famous physicist and Mona's idol)

I just finished my version of Venus, Jennika, Mona Lisa, and Lita for my AU.
Tumblr media
Venus is 24 years old and was Bishop's first test subject thus he discarded her when she seemed like a failure. She was raised by a nice old Asian man who runs an Asian restaurant. She is a Yellow-blotched map turtle. She is not aware of her past and she doesn't know about her younger siblings. She lives in a secret Yokai city under New York called the Underground. She is biologically male, but identifies as female. She is pansexual and transgender.
Jennika is 18 years old and is the twin of Raphael. However unlike Raphael she doesn't get rescued and so she remains in the care of Bishop. When the Shredder comes around she becomes his first mutant super soldier. She knows about her past and seems to hate her siblings because she was left behind. She is biologically male, but identifies as female. She is demisexual and transgender.
Mona Lisa is 16 years old and is a Yokai from the Underground. She becomes involved with the story when she meets Raphael at Central Park. She shows the turtles the Underground and introduces them to her roommate Venus. She also tells them about an evil Yokai who wants to rule the world. Mona Lisa is biologically female and identifies as female. She is however a Lesbian.
Lita is 8 years old and is the daughter of Venus. She was born of Venus and a human girl(I will draw her) back when Venus was in high school. She lives with her mom(Venus), her Mommy and her big sister Mona Lisa. She is hybrid so she looks much different than either of her parents, though she seems to be a turtle at first glance. She is a very big fan of her sciences teacher Mr. Draxum, who is a member of the Royal Society of Scientists. She is a child prodigy. She is biologically female and identifies as female.
I hope you like my girls and are looking forward to seeing Lita's mommy and Draxum because they will be the characters that I'm going to do next. Then I will make the clothes for these girls.

Why Clam is an important character
Or an over-analytical deep dive into why Clam is my latest blorbo.
Tumblr media
Clam is one of the main three characters from Camp Lazlo. His character can basically be summed up as the weird quiet kid of the show. He's very silly, chaotic, and energetic, but he doesn't talk very much, usually speaking in one to three word sentences and often repeating the last few words of his friends' sentences. It is shown that he can speak in full sentences, but it's not a super common occurrence.
Now you may be asking: What's so important about a character from an unserious kids show who hardly even talks? But the fact that he's weird and doesn't speak much is exactly why he resonates with me.
Sadly, Clam doesn't get a lot of episodes where his character is the main focus. A lot of his characterization is subtle and you may not notice certain things if you aren't paying close attention or just haven't seen a lot of episodes in general. And if one was only watching Camp Lazlo in passing without seeing any of his focus episodes, they could easily come under the assumption that Clam is just a dumb comic relief character without any depth. But that's where they'd be wrong. And the episodes where he does get more focus prove that he's more than that.
Prodigious Clamus is a one of the main episodes that establishes Clam's depth. And it's very telling that this is also his first major episode in the show. In this episode, Lumpus hears a story about a scoutmaster with a genius bean scout who became famous and the interviewer says that one in 14 scouts is a genius. Wanting to cash in on the opportunity to become famous and leave Camp Kidney, Lumpus sets up several tests to find out if one of his scouts is a genius. Now this premise isn't anything new, but where the episode truly shines is that it takes the complete opposite direction from what you'd initially expect.
Clam passes the first two tests easily, putting together a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle in 10 seconds, and painting an exact replica of the Mona Lisa in the same amount of the time. Lumpus doesn't actually notice Clam until later however, when he asks the scouts to perform music and the kid perfectly reproduces the sound of a full-on orchestra just from blowing into a glass bottle.
Lumpus realizes that Clam is the genius he's been looking for and he contacts the interviewer he saw on tv to come see Clam perform. At first, Clam seems happy to be recognized by Lumpus, but he quickly realizes that he'd miss Raj and Lazlo too much if he goes through with this.
Tumblr media
Deciding that his friends are more important to him, Clam willingly sabotages his performance by belching extremely loudly into the glass bottle onstage. He then blows a raspberry as he walks past Lumpus and the interviewer, who calls both Clam and Lumpus terrible. Lazlo and Raj praise Clam for his act, calling it genius and that's all that matters in the end.
One thing I really love about Prodigious Clamus is that we've definitely seen this type of episode before, but usually by the end of the episode, the character would be proven to just be an idiot with the whole genius thing being a misunderstanding. But this episode subverts those expectations by showing that Clam IS the talented genius that Lumpus is looking for.
Clam actively chooses to play the part of the fool, because he doesn't want to be recognized for his smarts if it means leaving behind the people who are already important to him. And this makes him a stronger character than you're initially led to believe. Clam may have the other characters think he's an idiot after the act he pulled, but that's all it is--an act to disprove his actual intelligence so that he doesn't have to give up his happiness. If the others want to believe he's stupid, so be it. He just wants to have fun with the people who already love him.
There are multiple things to glean from this episode but the most apparent one is: Clam isn't stupid. He's quiet and expresses himself differently from other children but he's actually very smart and multi-talented. He just chooses to act silly because he likes having fun and he values his friends more than superficial things like popularity and fame.
Another thing I love about this episode is that Clam is completely silent from the point Lumpus notices him until the end of his "performance." He isn't forced to use words to express his discomfort with the situation. But you can still understand what's going on from the visual storytelling, even without having Clam verbally spell it out for you. And even if the adults can't recognize his intelligence, his friends love and support him just the way he is.
Tumblr media
An additional point of note is that although Clam is quiet, this does not make him weak or helpless. He's the smallest scout in camp, but no one rivals him in physical strength and he's shown lifting objects several times his own weight multiple times throughout the series. He's also very resourceful and good at building things with little to no instruction. And he's not scared to stand up for himself either. He's a happy silly character but he's still allowed to get angry and he'll even fight adults if they piss him off too much.
Clam the Outlaw is another standout episode that depicts unique aspects that you wouldn't necessarily expect from a character like Clam. In the episode Clam wakes up at the crack of dawn to be the first person in line for Pancake Day. Unfortunately Chef McMuesli only has batter for one pancake and Lumpus very rudely cuts in front of Clam to steal his pancake. Clam rightfully gets pissed and attacks Lumpus, throwing the pancake at his face, and pouring syrup on top. It's too late when Clam realizes the mistake he's made and he ends up running off to live in the hills ( in the best cowboy outfit I've ever seen in my life, might I add ). And he's shown to be fully capable of surviving on his own, as he hides out for several days at a time.
Tumblr media
Lumpus unfairly punishes the rest of the bean scouts for siding with Clam and he confiscates their marshmallows. But Outlaw Clam shows up on his trusty toy horse to bring the marshmallows back. Lumpus continues to try to take away the childrens' joy throughout the episode, but Clam shows up every time to save the day. The episode is very silly in tone, but it highlights how Clam is willing to break rules when they're unfair and stand up for what's right. He's not afraid to spit in the face of authority to protect what he believes in.
Similar to Prodigious Clamus, Clam also hardly speaks in this episode in between the time he becomes an outlaw and the end of the episode, further adding to the point that he doesn't need to talk in order to be a great character.
Where's Lazlo is a 40-minute movie special that dives into how Jelly Cabin met. It's the beginning of camp and Clam and Raj meet at the bus stop. Clam gets reasonably pissed at Raj when the latter tells him he has to sit on the roof of the bus ( he mistook him for a baggage boy ) and Clam acts very aggressive towards him at first.
Tumblr media
A major theme of the movie is embracing one's differences regardless of how others may perceive you. While it's not stated, if we can take anything away from Clam's behavior with that theme in mind, it can be inferred that he may have gotten bullied for being weird in the past. And this is only given further plausibility when Clam immediately defends Raj from Edward's bullying, despite the fact that he doesn't like Raj.
In the episode Where's Clam, Raj makes Clam carry his share of the firewood because he knows Clam is stronger than him. Clam ends up carrying firewood for both of them while Raj carries a tiny twig. It's sort of implied that Clam struggles with saying no in this episode. Raj asks multiple times if it's really okay and Clam says it's no problem, although he appears to be struggling a bit to carry the extra weight. It seems as if he thinks this is just what's expected from him as a friend, and he isn't entirely certain how to enforce boundaries.
One episode that highlights an overlooked aspect of Clam's personality is Camp Dinkey. In this episode the campers find a sign for a camp called Camp Dinkey where the tagline is "A camp made just for you!" Everyone starts imagining their ideal summer camp and when it's Clam's turn, it's revealed that "no one ever asks" what he wants to do and that he feels misunderstood. But he wants to be understood. This moment pretty much confirms that Clam doesn't always voice his own opinion, in favor of going along with what others want because expressing himself verbally doesn't come easy.
Tumblr media
Clam may also tone down his weirdness a bit to appear more palatable to others, particularly towards adults, as in Hallobeanies when Lumpus asks what he's dressed as for Halloween he enthusiastically yells "scary traffic cone!" before reneging what he said when Lumpus gets annoyed, and muttering "ehh...witch."
Now that we've covered some key parts of Clam's characterization, we'll get into why all of this is important. If you couldn't tell already, Clam is very autistic-coded, leaning towards the nonverbal crowd. He isn't shown talking to characters aside from Lazlo and Raj very often and he actually talks even less when they're not around, establishing that they're the people he's most comfortable with.
His interests aren't what most people would consider normal. He loves rocks ( both consuming and playing with them ). He wants to be a professional bathroom attendant. His comfort item is a toaster and no one knows why.
He's very intelligent but due to his silly personality and quiet nature he's often misjudged or overlooked, leading him to feel misunderstood. He can sometimes get violent when upset. He chooses to disregard rules he deems unfair even if it gets him into trouble. He may feel pressured to conform at times, particularly before authoritative figures, but for the most part he's very comfortable in his weirdness and he expresses himself however he chooses regardless of what others think.
Tumblr media
Clam is a happy child who revels in being different, but his struggles are still very real and reflect alot of the same struggles of growing up in a society that expects everyone to fit into neat little boxes without any dents or creases.
Speaking as someone who grew up autistic in an unsupportive environment, seeing a character like Clam who's just allowed to be himself without being talked down to or having his personality treated as problem that needs to be fixed makes me feel seen in a way that few characters have succeeded in replicating. And one huge reason for this is because Clam is a quiet character and I've always struggled with speaking up in front of other people. I was that kid who's intelligence was overlooked by anyone and everyone simply because being loud and vocal didn't come naturally to me. So finding out that a character like Clam has existed for almost two decades and no one talks about him just makes me want to yell about him even more.
And I will acknowledge that there are more smart characters today who fit into the weird kid category, but when I was a kid, back when Camp Lazlo actually aired, they were few and far between. Back then weird characters were usually forced into the dumb guy archetype. And Clam stands out even more, because he has the added factor of being quiet. I'm just saying that from what I can recall, characters who were weird, quiet, and smart all at once weren't exactly a huge thing back in the mid 2000s and there still aren't a ton of them now.
Tumblr media
And before I end this giant rambling mess there is one more important point I've been saving for last. Clam is an important character, not only because he's a great portrayal of an autistic child ( intentional or not ), but also because he's allowed to be different and it's not treated as an inherent flaw or moral failing.
Throughout the entire show Clam is allowed to just exist and no one ever forces him to talk more or tries to change him to make themselves feel more comfortable. He's also not othered by the characters or narrative for being weird. He's never punished for being different. He's just allowed to be his weird authentic self and his friends love and support him unconditionally.
From the perspective of someone who didn't grow up with that same love and support, I really appreciate that a character like Clam exists. Clam says it's okay to be weird and quiet and there's nothing wrong with that. Clam says there's still hope for those who's voices remain unheard. He may be a silly cartoon character from a silly kids show, but I'm happy he exists and he deserves the world. Thank you for coming to my unhinged essay and I hope I can convince at least one person to give this show and character a second look. With your help we can spread Clam worldwide. It's only a matter of time.

we might want some joy or victory by the end of ‘glass onion’ and that’s what we get - sort of.
major spoilers beneath cut
andi is dead. helen still lost her sister, who it sounds like she'd drifted apart from in the years leading up to her death, as andi chose to ‘see the good’ in a group of shitheads who eventually turned their back on her. And who would have continued to lie even to cover up her murder had helen not ended the main source of their wealth. Which, btw, is weirdly* framed as a redeeming moment for said shitheads, despite the fact that had miles not been ruined by helen’s actions, they wouldn’t have turned their back on him, even with the knowledge that he’d murdered andi and stood to kill even more people by letting a dangerous project move forward. nothing happens that indicates to me that they won’t just latch onto the next golden teat they can find and make all the same immoral decisions again.
*not that weird, done intentionally i think. the movie really walks a fine line trying to make the shitheads (~the disrupters~) condemnable while still somewhat likeable - i think we are to believe that that these might be good people who have fallen prey to the allure of wealth so as to not be too alienated by them. duke fits the stereotype of the guy that terminally online liberals love to hate - deeply insecure, red-pill-conspiracy-theorist-shilling, cuck-fantasy-having beefcake - and that’s why he gets the on-screen death. as an audience, we might raise our eyebrows if it was instead lionel or claire or birdie who dies.
it isn't intended to be a downer ending, because helen does get her revenge and what a cathartic moment it is to see miles' empire destroyed by her and the curtain pulled back on miles’ hip prodigy persona by blanc - something that is lightly foreshadowed very early on during the zoom call between lionel and the board. i like that the implied to be morally grey ‘eccentric genius’ character (miles) turns out to be exactly what the board suspects he might be: a dick.
helen is right all along when she says “But I knew who they were, and I told her what they were. Shitheads” (she is still right about this by the end, even though, as i said, the movie does try to soften the other characters) when even blanc gives miles too much credit, assuming that he (miles) wouldn’t be stupid enough to kill andi.
back to what i meant for this post to be about: i understand why this movie wants to be a happy ending, but it isn’t. there’s catharsis, there’s revenge, there’s a badass slow-mo sequence of helen burning down the old boy’s club rather than joining its ranks - which is the mistake that andi makes that ultimately gets her killed. there’s a fun, brief exchange between blanc and helen. there’s the final shot where we’re meant to understand that helen is the mysterious, priceless, wondrous, never duplicated (despite being an identical twin) work of art, the mona lisa - a modest third-grade teacher from alabama, grieving her sister.
it’s a movie. it’s a fun movie and the audience, myself included, has a certain expectation of this kind of story. but we actually do see the more plausible ending to this story - the bad guy wins - on two occasions:
first, when andi loses the company. duke lays this out pretty well when andi/helen asks for “the truth” and he tells her, ”you’re the loser” - which is truer than he realizes because he doesn’t know that andi is dead. she had the evidence in her hand to win back her company and it didn’t help her at all, it just gets her killed. perhaps she would’ve died sooner if she’d been able to find it before the court case.
and a second time: after helen/andi summons incredible courage to go to the extreme lengths it takes for her to find the piece of evidence that will this time not only prove that andi was cheated, but also implicate miles in andi’s and duke’s respective murders. that is, until miles burns it up before her very eyes, which, tbh, i think she should’ve been prepared for, because he’d already killed two people to try to stop that evidence from coming to light.
those are the true, bleak endings. you can have all the facts and evidence on your side, you can be objectively in the right, you can be ethically in the right, you can be right in the eyes of the law and the eyes of god - but the rich and the powerful hold all the cards and everything is stacked against you. they write the rules and then they move the goal posts when they’ve been outplayed. nothing short of burning the whole stadium down can get you the win, and even if you do win, you still lost something invaluable, that can never be replaced.

One of my life goals is to be a polymath. I want to know as much as I can and learn how to put it into use. I think Robert Heinlein, as cringe as he was, was correct about one thing.
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
Speaking of polymaths, here's a list of people I have respect for for being polymaths.
1. Leonardo Da Vinci: Artist, sculptor, architect, inventor, engineer, scientist, theorist, the true Renaissance man. Painted things like the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper, Lady With An Ermine and Salvator Mundi. Came up with early drafts for the helicopter, airplane, submarine, tank, and various other things. Wrote notebooks and drew sketches of several different subjects, including anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, painting, and paleontology.
2. Ben Franklin: You know him, you've seen him on the $100 bill, you probably love him, he's great at a lot of things. The first ever postmaster general of the US, the first ambassador to Sweden and France, invented swimming paddles at just 11 years old, later invented the glass harmonica and Franklin stove, helped print some of the first ever newspapers in America, the New England Courant and later the Philadelphia Gazette, founded the University of Pennsylvania, the first fire department, police force (unfortunately), and hospital, did the famous kite experiment that proved lightning was a form of electricity, drafted and signed the Declaration of Independence and Constitution, came up with many aphorisms thanks to Poor Richard's Almanack (which was like any other almanac plus the aphorisms), the Silence Dogood letters, and many other writings, charted and named the Gulf Stream, laid the groundwork for modern demography, and was probably the first ever shitposter. I could name more stuff but honestly this is enough for me and maybe everyone else.
3. Rabindranath Tagore: The Da Vinci of Asia, arguably. A poet and composer who came up with the words for the Indian and Bangladeshi national anthems; an author who made several famous books including Gitanjali, a Nobel Prize-winning poetry anthology (HE WAS THE FIRST POC TO WIN A NOBEL PRIZE), Gora, and The Home and The World, among other literary works that have been adapted into films time and time again by Indian cinema studios; a playwright whose plays have also been adapted to the big screen frequently; a painter inspired by, among other things, Papua New Guinean masks from the Malagan people, Haida carvings from the Pacific Northwest, and the woodcuts of German artist Max Pechstein; a staunch advocate for Indian independence until his dying days, and a child prodigy, writing poetry as early as 8, and publishing his first poetry collection at 16. More people should be talking about this guy.
And finally 4. W. E. B. Dubois: Black sociologist, historian, author, and civil rights activist. He co-founded the NAACP in 1909, wrote his most famous work, The Souls of Black Folk in 1903, a seminal work of POC literature, was the first Black person to earn a doctorate in history, especially from Harvard (!!!!), and a very active member of the civil rights movement as early as the turn of the century. He is also the person that has lived the longest out of all the people on this list, as he died in 1963, at the ripe old age of 95, one year before the Civil Rights Act passed.
Let me know what you think.

Leonardo da Vinci, the man who needs no introduction, was a prodigy of the Renaissance era. His contributions to the world of art, science, and engineering are monumental. But, hidden behind his famous works of art like "Mona Lisa" and "The Last Supper," lies another facet of his genius — his architectural visions, particularly those manifested in his drawings of an ideal city.
Let's dive into this lesser-known world of Leonardo da Vinci’s architectural drawings and the dream of a utopian urban environment.

87 Mona Lisa Headcanon
Tumblr media
Every since Mona Lisa was a little girl she was known for being very smart for her young age. She skipped two grades and graduated high school early. At age 16, she started attending college with many scholarships because of her being a science prodigy. Mona truly thought her life was going great, until her first spring break during her freshman year…
A couple of her fellow college friends invited out for a fishing trip. The group was having a fun time on the water until Captain Filch attacked.
Unknown to Mona, her college friends on that boat have always been jealous of her. Deep down they hates that some young kid just suddenly appeared on their campus, succeeding in their biology, psychics and chemistry programs at their school, unintentionally making the rest of her peers look like idiots. She needed to go.
Seeing this as their opportunity to finally get rid of the competition, Mona’s “friends” abandoned her on that boat, leaving her to be captured by Captain Flich and later mutated into a lizard mutant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That experience left Mona to believe that she is alone and no one cares about her, that is until she meets Raphael. The first person (or mutant) to show her genuine kindness and love in a long time. Meeting Raph, April, and the others showed Mona Lisa that her true friends and loved ones are out there, you just gotta be patient and you’ll find them soon enough. With her new found friends, and someone special like Raphael in her life, Mona Lisa is no longer alone, and has never been happier.
