What is one random fact about programming people might be surprised to know….?

I had to think about that real hard.

But maybe that it works like learning any kind of second language. The more programming languages you know, the less you know about the syntax in all of them😔 Byelingual.

And also, uni sometimes lets you loose on a problem with nothing but a pen and paper as your weapon. I don't know if that's a thing everywhere but it's definitely a thing here.

Was reminded last night of just how far our programming went.

One time our ex had triggered us so violently that we were scream sobbing, we were completely inconsolable. Then they got distressed because we were freaking out.

The minute they expressed negative emotion or distress (there were specific phrases they would say when stressed) our emotions shut off. We became completely silent and calm. We started comforting them as if nothing had happened to us.

We were. Completely numb, nothing of what had happened mattered. We don't even remember what the trigger was, I fundamentally cannot remember what abusive thing they had done to us. I just remember turning off.

Jon: What is it?

Damian: I'm pretty sure the guy in the other soccer team was threatening me, but I didn't hear it because I was too busy staring at his thighs.

Jon: .....We're in different time zones, you know that? It's three in the morning for me here. When you call me at this time, it's ussually a emergency not a gossip session. I'm tried Damian, and I have class in the morning. I can't be a good exchange student if I'm falling asleep in class.

Damian: So? All my best work is at three am. Do better.

Jon: *sigh* Okay so the other guy is hot. What's his name?

Damian: Daniel Fenton. He's a foward. He's so attractive, I forget the human language when he speaks and only hear "Blah blah blah " but in a dreamy sigh kind of blah.

Jon: Uh-huh. And why was he threatening you?

Damian: I have no idea, I was too busy watching his lips move, and his thighs flexed as he stretched.

Jon: Right. Well, I'm sure once the soccer tournament is over you won't have to see him every again-

Damian: I think I asked his mother for his hand in marriage yesterday. I can't remember.

Jon: *Sigh* Of course you did.

It makes me so uncomfortable to see people post blatantly anti-Jewish content and then turn right around and stan Jewish historical figures. Like, do they hate us or love us?

Side note: game programming. guys. how is it this hard. I know I'm lucky to have SOME experience, but! Why!

figured out half an inventory, and how to pick up stuff. Need to figure out how to allow the player to select stuff inside the inventory and 'use' it (put it in a mailbox).

I did manage to create part of an original tile set, and was testing it when I realised the dirt looks kinda ugly :(

Anyways just. throwing these small screenshots at you. I hope I get around to finishing this. I have drained so many hours into bug fixing alone. that was pretty much all today has been. Oh well.

Phil: The last time I got like, legitimately fckin' angry on stream was when my- my Egg child died. Sorry– my two Egg children died in a really dumb way, and I got genuinely pissed off. And that was– that was the last time I got like, visibly mad.

Sneeg: Dude, that sht looked stressful. That server looked stressful with- with the Egg stuff.

Phil: It was! Mhmm. It fckin was, it was like, crazy! I got to meet a lot of really cool people, so I'll always just be thankful for that, and not just think about the stressful times, like...

Sneeg: True. Yeah, well... Ain't that life. [Laughs]

Phil: [Laughs and says in a sing-songy voice] "That's life!"

Sneeg: Ain't that life– of being like "Wow, a lot of this was very scary, but at least I got to do some cool sht, I suppose." [Laughs]

"Of course buddy."

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! SHE NEED MEDICAL-!"

"Would you zip it?! She's fine! It's just a bloody nose from her nose being so dry--the inside skin is sensitive and a small blood vessel was probably ruptured. It sounds and looks bad but honestly it's not a serious thing."

"...are you sure?" they fearfully asked.

"Positive. I get the same thing all the time when sick. It'll go away in a few minutes. Now for future reference just give the kid lots of tissues and have them hold it to their nose. Keep their head facing forward; if they tilt back the blood will flow into their throats, and if they tilt forward they'll bleed more."

"...understood."

"Good. Now maybe go apologize to Agnes for traumatizing her for the past 5 minutes."

"That's a good idea."

"I'll give her some of my blood as an apology."

"...that's nice but maybe don't."

Hermitcraft postal game update!

I HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO OPEN THE LETTERS FROM INSIDE THE INVENTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *THE CROWD GOES WILD!*

Last night I messed around a bit with a music making website (I think it was beepbox?) and created a lil song that'll be one of the ones playing in the background while you run around :)

Also, if anyone wants to help at all with the project, I am very much in need of letter ideas! Basically anything you'd imagine the hermits sending each other. Pop on over to this post for more info if you're interested :D (please please please give me ideas).
