4 Tips to Help Reduce Return Rates
Thanks to an escalating rate and the cost of product returns, brands and retailers face a significant challenge. The financial and environmental implications of nearly a third of all purchased products online being returned can’t be ignored. Adapting your approach by partnering with a complete product education platform that also acts as an explainer video production company, can help reduce return rates while fostering long-term customer loyalty and satisfaction. Here’s how.
Tumblr media
Understand the Root Cause The rising cost of returns is something that some companies simply choose to accept and have responded to by raising prices, charging for returns, or accepting lower margins. But by understanding the root cause, it’s possible to prevent returns in the first place. More than half of eCommerce returns are due to the product not matching the description and the reviews not matching the actual product. Customers rely on product descriptions, photos, and reviews to help them make purchasing choices, but the eCommerce world is rife with fake reviews and misleading information. Create Better Descriptions The first step is to create better product descriptions. Consumers should not be surprised when they open the box. A great way to enhance descriptions is to create content that accurately describes and shows customers how to use your product. Featuring an expert in impactful video content can help better inform potential customers, giving them valuable insights into your product from credible, trusted sources, all before they add the item to their cart. This helps shoppers make the best choice for their needs by making an educated decision. Manage Expectations A significant factor in educating potential consumers is managing their expectations. Sizing issues, usability concerns, and functionality discrepancies are likely to result in a return. As noted above, this could be due to inaccurate descriptions, images, or simply a lack of important information about the product. Instead, customers make assumptions when they don’t have accurate information. They’ll anticipate benefits or features your product might not be able to fulfill. Managing these expectations can help avoid returns because shoppers will have a clear idea of what they are getting. Use Expert Videos An effective solution to returns boils down to impactful video content. Partner with a product education platform that also acts as a promotional video production company and features industry experts in their videos. This is an easy way to combat misinformation while educating potential customers. How-to videos and unscripted reviews help your audience connect with your brand thanks to the expert’s authenticity and credibility. By improving consumer confidence in their purchase decisions, you can build brand loyalty and trust. About The Desire Company Building trust with your consumer base is a core part of establishing brand loyalty. To help your brand thrive in the digital marketplace, authenticity is paramount. With the FTC’s crackdown on fake reviews and the #deinfluencing trend, consumers have shown that they value unscripted opinions and honest advice from credible sources above all else. The Desire Company is ready to help your brand go beyond hollow product recommendations from celebrities, paid influencers, and pseudo-experts. They’re more than a typical video production company or creative agency. The Desire Company is a complete product education platform that can match your brand with industry experts in their Pro Community, combining content strategy, expert vetting, video embed technology, and multi-channel media distribution. It’s the perfect way to keep your audience informed, not influenced. ok so this is probably the only non-reblog tumblr post i’ll ever make in the entirety of my natural life but if the world goes on w/o knowing anything about mirai komachi I will BURST.
Mirai Komachi is this vocaloid (see below) made for the VOCALOID4 engine by Bandai Namco Studios, a Japanese video game development company that is a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Entertainment which ITSELF is a subsidiary of Bandai Namco Holdings ANYWAY
Tumblr media
from what i can gather she was kind of an accident? the vocaloid wiki describes her as an “experimental female vocal not originally meant for commercial release” which to me implies “accident”. either way they made this vocaloid n then just. released her. No announcement, no advertising, nothing. “come get y’all orange juice”, Bandai Namco said. And, unsurprisingly, very few people did. mirai komachi is a relatively obscure vocaloid, even (from what i can tell PLZ correct me if i’m wrong) in the jp community and ESPECIALLY in the english community. Minnemi’s “Every VOCALOID Described In One Word” video give mirai komachi the word “who?”. She’s not even mentioned on her parent company’s wikipedia page. only the most completionist of the completionist vocaloid nerds (me) even rly know of her existence, much less her lore.
yeah thats right her lore. this girlie has lore!!! her origin is that this doctor guy named Hakase (yeah they have names n everything) was doing some kind of experiment that got fucked up so explosion BOOM mirai komachi appears (BTW "mirai komachi” is her name. Like, the whole thing. komachi is written in kanji while mirai is written in katakana which implies mirai is the given name and it’s just written in the western order but her website refers to her explicitly as Mirai Komachi and in an email Bandai Namco stated that mirai is neither her given or family name. Technically in most official english source material they refer to her as MiraiKomachi. weird). after she appeared in the explosion she became a researcher at Bandai Namco studios women in stem girlboss. anyway Hakase n these little robots he made r considered her sidekicks n they have a whole lil comic series of their misadventures that I CANNOT find any english translations of and it kills me.
but either way my point is considering her lack of popularity its kind of wild how much content there is of her???? she has a youtube page w/ a bunch of original songs, almost all of which have official english subtitles and are on spotify (which is pretty rare for lesser known vocaloids n if they r there they r certainly hard 2 find). the official MiraiKomachi website is super well made and has a bunch of illustrations, an official mirai komachi 3d model, and the comics i mentioned earlier. she’s been on a bunch of japanese public transport stuff (which isnt that uncommon 4 jp vocaloids) n has this absurd but cute video collaboration with Jammu like. shes there!! shes got stuff!!!
(this whole post is rly just a manifestation of the fact that vocaloid is a very international multilingual community n the nature of very international multilingual communities is every once in a while u will stumble across an aspect of this community that u r theoretically “part of” that is completely in a language that u dont speak or in a physical location that u cannot access n ur just like “huh. there are entire aspects of this thing i care about that i will never fully understand and subcommunities that i will rarely ever interact with even if i spend actual years obsessing over that thing.” this has been existential fandom hour brought to you by staring too long at the vocaloid wikis)
uhhh anyway tl;dr mirai komachi is cute n i wish i could read japanese

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate! I realize I have a bit of a backlog of Christmas/holiday themed posts so for the next week I'm going to do one Christmas/holiday post a day until the New Year.
So for today, let's start with one that explicitly gives us Christmas wishes!
It's an ad for a mobile game of course, and I personally think it's really nice of "We Have Harley Quinn Fury Stark At Home" to wish us a Merry Christmas when her legs are... sliding off.  Or whatever's happening there.
I hope somebody got her a cybernetic leg adjustment for Christmas.

The best part of not having the best memory at times is that I do not have a clue what the ask I sent previously said, what so ever 😂
All that I kinda remember is fluff and maybe angst with author freedom. But honestly however you write I am gonna love it 🥰
Also I remember saying multiple times (or at least I think so) that you don’t have to write this idea/request and if you do, take as long as you want on it. ❤️
Anyway, back to not so great memory part of this small essay of an ask 📝🤣
If you do eventually write it (no pressure really ✨) I get double the surprises. The surprises you wrote and maybe I might remember my ask 😂
Well, have a lovely day 🥰 Here is a pic of Jun
Tumblr media
asdjfsd LMAO honestly same i send my mutuals so many asks and then they answer them and i'm like ?? where did those come from ?? but don't worry i did get your ask and i think it's so cute!!! i do have a ton of other older things that i wanna get thru this summer so it may take me a while to finish it (some of the asks i'm working on rn are over a year old 😭SO sorry to those anons who probably aren't even on tumblr anymore oops) but i'm definitely not opposed to writing yours if i get a chance 🫶 and thank you for the juns (this ask + the last one) i love him!!!!!!!! <333

Taehyun's new web show is really cute. It definitely has the intention of appealing to their younger fanbase, but it's got elements for adults if you just like learning about stuff, just with the flare of a pretty k-pop boy.
1st episode was only 15 minutes and I'm just going to assume that'll be the same across future episodes. We also have no idea how many episodes were filmed, but I hope for at least the same amount as other shows featuring idols, so about 9-10.
Best/funniest part was when the girls were telling him their ult group was Seventeen but that they liked TXT but all of their bias was Soobin, like damn, really took him down on his own show LOL

Oh I've become completely disillusioned by RT as a company after everything (it probably helps that I went through the same thing years ago when Dis/ney started to become even worse) like I am solely on the AH (and the occasional Funhaus) train now. Like the group AH has right now (minus a couple like u said) have so much GOOD happening in it and that makes me want to watch it all the more. I want them to succeed and just blow the socks off of everybody!
cheers, i'll drink to that
disney stuff is much easier to pirate, but harder to avoid because The Mouse has its grubby little hands on almost every single thing on earth. rt is the opposite because it's a way smaller company in comparison, and with that, any series that isn't rwby is harder to get through less official means. free trials exist, but they still require some of payment method to activate, and i don't want to use someone else's first account, so fuck that lol
anytime i do watch or gif AH stuff, it'll be straight from youtube :P

the news abt the girls in the park’s company no longer being operating made me go back and relisten to their discography again and it’s coming back to me how much I used to like them :( (I still like them lmao but as they hadn’t been active in over 18 months they weren’t at the forefront of my mind that often) all of them are so fun and their discography is definitely in the top 5 kpop discographies that tickle my brain the most. they had/have such good chemistry and energy, and omg seoryoung… still love how extra she is on every track and her gorgeous voice. I went on a bazooka and puzzle moon stage rewatch and ahhh they’re so fun… why did we have to (half) lose them so early

XGC vs. UGC: Which Is Best for Your Marketing Campaign?
The internet is full of misleading information, anonymous user-generated reviews, and AI-generated content. It can be hard to determine what is actually credible, and that makes honest information more valuable than ever. When choosing a product education platform that also functions as an explainer video production company, search for a partner that prioritizes expert testimony to create XGC—expert-generated content. Here’s how this strategy can help your brand build trust and loyalty while educating your audience and fighting misinformation.
Tumblr media
The Drawbacks of User-Generated Content
User-generated content, or UGC, is a cost-effective way to start building trust among your consumer base but requires your brand to rely on shoppers to create content. This can be challenging, as many customers don’t even want to write a review, let alone record a video. Additionally, depending on their experience level, they may not be the best source to properly inform others about how to use your product or when it most comes in handy. Therefore, it’s nearly impossible to ensure UGC will always be high-quality content, which could be a deterrent for other customers.
The Benefits of Expert-Generated Content
XGC is a new approach that prioritizes expert recommendations. It’s an easy way for explainer video companies and product education platforms to help brands and retailers provide shoppers with impactful product education content. XGC takes aspects of UGC, such as the creation of a community around your brand and the freedom to share real user insights with the value of a professional who uses your product to help build shopper confidence and trust. It allows your brand to showcase industry experts promoting products they would genuinely recommend and use regularly. They can show how to use your product and, most importantly, why they, as an expert, would recommend it. And since a recent survey revealed that educated consumers return 50% less, expert product videos are an effective way to reduce the cost of returns.
What About Influencers?
Influencers present their own set of unique challenges. They have their place for extending brand reach and awareness, but customers are often skeptical about whether they actually use the products they promote. Unlike an expert, they could simply be reading from a script or hyping a product they don’t use as part of a paid partnership. Plus, their opinions don’t carry the credibility or reliability of an expert. As a result, they run the risk of eroding trust. However, finding a promotional video production company that can pair an influencer with an expert can help you enjoy the best of both worlds. XGC featuring an influencer and an industry pro means you get the reach of the influencer with the knowledge and hard-earned experience of the expert.
Where to Use XGC
Where should you use expert-generated content? Wherever you can. It could be featured on your home page, social media accounts, PDPs, or even in ads. The goal is to increase engagement and sales while decreasing confusion about your product. When you are able to manage expectations and educate your audience, they’re less likely to return your product. XGC can be optimized with click-to-buy tech, which drives conversions at the point of sale. Videos not only drive purchases but also make sure customers are truly informed.

SAG-AFTRA IS STRIKING AGAIN
This time, for video games.
Some key information:
They are striking so all performers will have protection against AI
The struck companies are those signed to the Interactive Media Agreement
The listed companies by SAG-AFTRA include Activision Productions Inc, Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc, Electronic Arts Productions Inc, Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc, Llama Productions LLC, Take 2 Productions Inc, VoiceWorks Productions Inc and WB Games Inc. Though this may not be everyone.
Important things from the FAQ:
Some games from struck companies are non-struck (due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement still being in effect)
Localisations will be affected if covered under the Interactive Localization Agreement
Actors who are part of SAG-AFTRA cannot work for non-union or independent/low-budged productions during the strike unless they are signed to an Interim Interactive Media Agreement, Interim Interactive Localization Agreement or a Tiered-Budget Independent Interactive Media Agreement
Similarly to the previous strike, struck work cannot be promoted. This includes accepting awards for performances in struck games. This does NOT include hosting/performing a skit at an awards show and San Diego Comic Con (the latter due to the close proximity to the calling of the strike)
As implied by the point above, SAG-AFTRA performers cannot partake in panels related to struck games or companies, including finished games produced by struck companies
The best way to check if a game is struck is to use the search tool provided by SAG-AFTRA
Most importantly: You are NOT being asked to stop playing video games, as highlighted in the FAQ for creators and streamers. This does NOT cross the picket line. Though please do talk about the strike and show your solidarity
I expect to see the same amount of support from y'all that we saw in the last strike. Just because it's video games doesn't mean performers deserve any less support and protection.
Also please reblog with any additions (with sources - we are NOT here to spread misinformation)! And please correct me if anything listed here is incorrect.

The Importance of Video in Crisis Management and PR | Video Point of Sales
Imagine a crisis hits your organization. Panic spreads, misinformation flies, and your brand’s reputation hangs by a thread. Now  picture a reality in which this is handled completely differently,  a calm, reassuring face addressing the public directly, cutting through the chaos with clarity and empathy. This is the power of video in crisis management. In an era where a single tweet can spark a global controversy, the right video at the right moment can be a game-changer.
The Power of Visual Communication
 Immediate Impact and Engagement
In the heat of a crisis, speed and engagement are crucial. Video enables organizations to communicate rapidly and effectively. Unlike text-based updates, videos can convey tone, urgency, and emotion, instantly capturing the audience’s attention and making the message resonate. But beyond just conveying information, a video response plays a critical role in managing the tone of the situation. It allows leaders to project calm and control, humanizing the organization in a way that written words alone cannot. The visual and auditory elements of video help to reassure stakeholders, diffuse tension, and build trust, ensuring that the message not only reaches but also soothes the audience. In the midst of uncertainty, a well-crafted video can be the steady hand that guides your brand through the storm.
 Building Trust and Transparency
Transparency is essential during a crisis. Video allows leaders to address their audience directly, offering a personal touch that written statements often lack. By seeing and hearing from the people in charge, the audience can feel reassured and trust that the organization is handling the situation responsibly. People are more likely to trust other people they can see over blanket statements addressing issues.
Clarifying Complex Information
Crises often involve complex information that can be challenging to grasp. Video has the unique ability to simplify this complexity by incorporating visuals, infographics, and clear narration, breaking down intricate details into easily digestible content. This is particularly valuable in situations where misinformation can spread rapidly, fueling confusion and panic. By providing a clear, visual explanation, video ensures that the audience receives accurate information in a way that’s easy to understand, reducing the likelihood of misinterpretation. Moreover, the combination of visual aids and straightforward messaging helps reinforce key points, making it easier for the audience to absorb and retain crucial details during a time of heightened anxiety...
Video in Crisis Response
In today’s fast-paced world, video is a cornerstone of effective crisis management. It offers a dynamic way to communicate, bridging the gap between an organization and its audience when clarity and reassurance are most needed. Whether delivering real-time updates, demonstrating actions taken, or training employees, video stands out as a powerful tool that not only informs but also engages and reassures stakeholders....
