I imagine during an attack on Gotham, Black manta this time, and Kit was pursuing him, damaging a lot of buildings in the process (caring about property damage is for losers) so Tails and Batman were trying to arrest them both until Tails (on his own) manages to get an answer out of him about the situation with black manta (cuz Kit frankly thought it was none of the land dwellers business)

So Tails insists on helping him despite Kit’s protests and together they mange to solve the mystery and arrest black manta

*Pay Attention - Part 2 - Tutorial*

I was about to go back to my business and quietly leave y'all with a word of wisdom but the very next package I opened raised my hackles. So here we go, hold on to your seat.

Disclaimer for younger/sweeter - followers - this has language in it because I'm pissed... I apologize in advance.

49,282 Polycounts. That's 50K for a fucking basket!!!

It's pretty, it's beautiful, and I downloaded it because it's everything you could want out of a basket of lemons... whoever created it did an outstanding job... for a movie production.

NOT PC GAMES.

So let's fix it - and let's hold our creators and converters to a higher standard or send them along to a different platform where they can create without our bitching.

First off, there's 3 or 4 ways you can check polycounts.

1 - TSRW under Mesh tab

2 - S3PE (Pretty sure you have to have an addon to do this - I'll try to find it when I'm done and add the link) Under MLOD, right click and go down to Preview. It'll open up a window and you can view the model and the polycount.

3 - 3D Viewer on your computer

4 - Blender or Milkshape

Now that we have the ability to check our polycount - we're gonna fix this mesh. I'm not going to show you how to package it, there are other tutorials for that part, but this is VITAL to having a healthy game, and honestly, being a creator or converter for this game. I do understand that you have to have the knowledge before you can fix a problem, so here it is - literally handed to you in a basket. I also understand that there are creators/converters who don't post polycounts because they're afraid people won't download it - that is inexcusable. If that's the case then you will eventually be boycotted by the players who know better.

Alright, so step one - you're going to want to get into blender after exporting your mesh. You're going open the modifier properties and add a decimate modifier (the wrench circled in red, and the add modifier drop down menu).

Keep it in Collapse, not un-subdivide. It's gentler on the mesh itself and you'll get a lot farther with it. You're also going to want your UV map to match what you're doing with your mesh, in case you need it for selection (I'll explain that in a minute) and have faces tagged so the selection is easier.

Now that you have that set up, you're gonna want to remove unnecessary vertices. See the shadows on the bottom of the basket? Here's how to fix that - hit tab, press A to select everything, and then go to MESH/MERGE/BY DISTANCE. This removed 16,900 loose vertices that didn't need to be there.

Go back to your modifiers and add an edge split modifier and hit apply.

Boom - no shadows.

Now that that is all done you're going to go in to edit mode (tab) and press L while hovering over what you're wanting to select. This is going to select all of the islands in your UV, and it's the fastest way (that I've found) to quickly select pieces of your mesh.

When you have your whole group selected (you can also figure out at this point what pieces need alternate textures or groups for TSRW later in your packaging process) you're going to hit P-Selection. That's gonna split whatever you have selected into a separate group.

Now, you can do that to however many pieces you see fit, but for this I'm just gonna stick with two - the lemons and the basket itself. You're going to click the blue Ratio box - and type in .5 and hit enter. That will collapse your polycount in half - (you can move that ratio box lower if you wish, but this way is the gentlest way possible and I've gotten better results. So play with it and see for yourself if you wish to. ) - Now repeat the process until your mesh starts to lose quality, I tend to stop there unless I can push it a bit further without making it look bad.

Now repeat that process with all groups.

Given that this particular mesh was such high polycount and an intricate mesh, I could only manage to get it from 49,282 faces (polys) down to 18,860. This is absolutely not okay for TS3 - and I'm using as a lesson rather than using something that I can get down to an okay level - because this is what you're going to run into when getting meshes that start in the tens of thousands of polys. THIS IS NOT MEANT FOR TS3, it's beautiful, yes, but you are putting people's equipment at risk by advertising a mesh for a 13 year old game without disclaiming that it's dangerous for it.

This tutorial will absolutely work for most objects, and I've used this process for a couple of years now with success, but you have to be able to decide what you're willing to put into TS3. We have all of these tutorials for reducing lag in this old as dirt game, but NONE of that matters if you're carrying objects like this - no matter how pretty they are.

If you need it that bad, figure out how to make a version of it that CAN look as good as this with a little less detail (think the spirals in the wicker that is actually meshed rather than just textured), or ask a creator to make something for you.

I do understand the need for high poly objects for photo-op purposes, and I'm not here to attack anyone's preferred gaming style. I just want people to be safe while they play, as there are those who don't know what they're putting into their games. Let's help ensure that everyone has a chance to play whether they're experienced creators or regular game-players.

Edit to add 2 -

To add a bit of context - I was able to get the reduced mesh even further by removing some of the intricate details of the mesh, to create a simpler version. This is now down to 5,270 - and it could be lowered even further by removing the top of the handle - which is 1700 by itself because it's spiraled. So when you're dealing with a high mesh object such as this, pay attention to what's really adding weight, and if you can replace/remove it without taking too much away. The shadows can be fixed in gimp as well.

Headcanon List from my Clegan Neighbors Modern AU multi-chapter fic

This is a little list I put together while I was brainstorming for this story after posting the intro last week. I'm editing Chapter 2 now and plan to post it before the weekend! Just figured I'd share some things because I'm excited for this one! (Buck and Bucky are going to have these balconies next to each other!)

Gale grew up working on a large farm and has been driving the farm truck around the property since he was ten years old. But he never had a driver’s license and has little knowledge of traffic laws.

Bucky worked for his college’s radio station doing sports coverage and now has a semi-popular podcast called Sports Talk with the Guy from Manitowoc. Curt is a regular guest host, especially whenever Bucky covers boxing, wrestling, etc.

Bucky has a temper and after several bar fights in college, was made to do mandatory anger management classes with the student health department. He has it mostly under control now. Boxing lessons with Curt help.

Gale loves cats and has always wanted one of his own. Unfortunately, Rosie’s apartment building has a strict ‘no pets allowed’ policy. Fortunately, Gale is also very stealthy.

One of the thing that messes with me as an adult thinking back on comics is that you simply cannot put Alfred as the single member of staff who is dealing with all of the Manor.

I mean you can, comic logic, Alfred Is Not Of This World, whatever you want personally want.

Me personally, I cannot.

I need Harold to be down in the Batcave dealing with that part of the property until he dies in the 2000s at the very least, but also, consider how many hours there are in each day and how much Alfred has to do and how he's always serving dinner in time and laundry is done and everything is restocked and yet he also has the time to be personally chaffeuring the members of the family around and someone is also going to be having to deal with the household expenses and count balancing and -- and --

Like all of that PLUS keeping up with the superhero stuff PLUS cooking what sometimes are LAVISH spreads (WHICH TAKES TIME! PREP WORK TAKES TIME! COOKING TAKES TIME! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE ONE PERSON AND ALSO HAVE TO GO PICK THESE PEOPLE UP AND MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THEIR LAUNDRY DONE AND THE GARDEN IS NOT OVERGROWN AND THE HOUSE IS CLEAN AND -- AUGH)

I cannot just accept that Alfred is doing it all, on his own, with the occasional WE-affiliated-and-vetted company called in to deal with, say, catering for a big event or whatever.

Especially not if Bruce is young and Alfred's supposed to be raising him, like oh god no, which is why the idea @mzminola talked about in their post (Bruce raised by his relatives) has taken root in my brain and is now my own personal very much cherished headcanon and a source of plenty of excuses for Bruce but also varied and eclectic skills and connections.

But okay, let's say that Alfred got left in charge of just managing things for Bruce until Bruce is of age and can take over things himself (in theory, in practice Bruce definitely pushes all he doesn't want to deal with about the house on Alfred and all he doesn't want to deal with about the company on Lucius Fox and sets up a contingency to get Tim to deal with shit for Bruce if Bruce were to be unavailable / unsteady / acting sus), while Bruce is being passed around from relative to relative.

There's still the staff that the Manor had before the death of Thomas and Martha to deal with. Gotta downsize that but you cannot just boot everyone and close shop.

I mean, yeah you can, but also, some of those people were probably there for a long time and Alfred wasn't just going to throw them out.

The way things work out in my brain is if Alfred is the "face" of the staff and the only one who, usually, interacts directly with The Family, while the others are in the background minding their own business, asking no questions at all.

They probably lost some people in NML during the Manor collapse, and the staff had to go through the harrowing process of getting new people that they didn't know nor trust in and then do their own version of vetting and making sure there was nothing hinky about any of them and that they understood the importance of the privacy of their employers, etc. etc.

Some of them must have retired at some point or moved on and were let go with more than fair compensantion and retirement packages and some stuff actually got outsourced a bit as technology progressed and things changed.

Especially after NML, actually.

Alfred is not going to hire someone just to come by to do all of the laundry, but he might have a trustworthy laundry service that is Bristol-based and is used to dealing with Rich People without asking questions.

And I am not say that they have to be In The Know life Alfred and Harold.

Actually, I prefer the idea that they aren't and that they just have this cushy job and loyalty to the Waynes and are all well compensated for being quiet and dealing with stuff on their own.

Sure, Alfred deals with the supernatural side of things, absolutely, and I am sure he has state of art machinery for, say, dealing with the costumes after patrol, but the Manor is huge and the upkeed is time consuming and exhausting and Alfred is too busy to do everything on his own.

So basically what I am saying is:

I have a might need for Alfred and his skeleton crew of long-time, trusted employees who keep the Manor running and stay out of the way of the bosses and everyone lives better like that.

I need Alfred's list of Trusted People who can deal with the family's laundry without messing it up and come do repairs when they are needed Upstairs since Harold won't leave the cave.

Give me Bruce's different childrens' different relationship's with said skeleton crew and Bruce's own distant relationship with them too and their reactions to things.

Allow me to have the skeleton crew sticking around and keeping the Manor up and running whenever Alfred is off around the world with Bruce for recovery / training / support purposes or who are still there and keeping things going when Alfred is too busy feuding with Bruce to look after everything else.

♡A Care Package For The Cardinal♡

It was never that difficult to tell when the Cardnial needed a break, even if you didn't know the man that well.

Look a little closer and you'd see upper clergy members in and out of his office at all hours of the day, ghouls being called every couple hours to refill his ink well, siblings called to bring him his dinner, etc.

But noone seemed to care, save for you and the ghouls.

See, Copia was one of the few clergy members which saw ghouls as equals and had gained their friendship and respect (despite how socially awkward he was). So when it was noticed by them that he was pushing himself harder than usual, they gave you a call. Well, more accurately, the ghoulettes did.

Ever the hopeless romantic, Cumulus adored the idea that The Cardinal had a crush on you, and when he confirmed it to her she nearly squealed with utter glee. You weren't as close with the ghouls as Copia, but you shared Copia's respect for them as equals, even having a sort of friendship with the ghoulettes. So when Cumulus approached you asking for ways to help get the Cardnial to relax you didn't think twice about it, suggesting and taking to developing a care package. You sought out herbs like lavender sprigs, chamomile flowers, and mint in Primo's garden. Even being able to retrieve a canister of jasmine tea from the kitchen ghouls, and, your favorite addition, a small sample-size bottle of lavender bubble bath solution.

Package assembled, Cumulus told you she'd deliver the care package herself but, unbeknownst to you, she had other plans. About 5 minutes before she was meant to meet you and pick it up she sent word that she was dreadfully busy, leaving you with the responsibility of delivering the package.

Now standing at The Cardnial's door with the care basket held firm against your hip, you rapped at it three times. You heard a light rustle followed by a thud before the door was swung open worn-down Copia. You couldn't help but feel pity for the man, his eyes were dull and face sullen, he looked like a ghost.

"Si, how can I help you cara?" He muttered, breathlessly. He feigned a polite smile. It was like just talking took every ounce of energy left in him.

On any other occasion, Copia would have been mortified that you were at his door seeing him so worn down, but he was just too tired to panic. The light flush on his face was the only indication that he had realized it was his crush at the door. His eyes flicked down to the basket in your hands and assuming you were delivering him more work, he groaned mentally. He could just barely manage what he was working on now.

"Well," You began with a hopeful smile. "Cumulus and I made you a care package, Cardinal!"

You presented the basket to him with outstretched arms and a wide smile hoping to inspire one of his own.

His eyes went wide and he began to wring out his hands, his social anxiety back in full swing.

You made him a gift?

"Ah, gr- grazie mio cara, that's very kind of you..."

He trailed off, observing it and gingerly picking it up to further examine at his desk. Beginning to pick through it he smiled a bit, he knew the properties of the herbs well and couldn't help but feel a warm buzz in his chest that you had picked them specifically out for him. The tea was an even better find, he smiled giddily as he imagined sharing a pot of it with you. And then he found the last item.

Bubble bath solution.

Oh.

And again his mind wandered.

"Cardinal?" You asked, concerned with his silence. Did he not like baths?

"Ah-ha yes y-yes, thank you I adore this." He turned to face you with a shy smile with hands clasped in front of his heart, a sign of genuine gratitude. For the first time that week, he felt an actual smile grace his face. His face flushed a shade darker seeing your face light up at his praise.

"Of course! I'm glad to help anyway I can, you do so much for us."

You didn't know it but at that moment, Copia wanted to cry. That was the first time that week anyone had acknowledged how hard he was working. So with a bittersweet smile, he invited you to sit down and have tea.

It didn't take long for Copia to get the tea ready, no, what took longer was the mental pep talk he had to give himself. He pried his mind from the work on his desk, the guilt of not doing it sat heavy in his gut, and when he finally sat with you at the small couch nestled into the corner of his office he was tense. Stiffly sat beside you, he offered you your cup.

"Thank you." You smiled, graciously.

He nodded back. A lull overtook the two of you

You examined the room around you. It was cluttered, papers stacked upon his desk with open books haphazardly strewn across them in various languages. He seemed to be translating something. The stack of discarded papers with scrawled out ink on them looked to be so.

Throughout all of the preparations and now seeing his state for yourself, one question lingered in your mind.

"Cardinal?"

"Hm?" He hummed, cup to his lips for a sip.

"Why do you push yourself so hard?"

He paused. He placed his cup down and folded his hands in his lap. As much as he wished he could just brush it off and say he was fine, that he was glad to work so hard, he just couldn't. He couldn't lie to you.

And so it all spilled forth.

"That's fucked up, they shouldn't force you to shoulder so much!"

Wide heterochromatic eyes met yours.

"Er- I apologize that was inapr-."

He cut you off with a dry chuckle.

"No, your right." He sipped his tea and sighed.

"It's fucked up."

A solemn silence overtook the room, Copia stared down at his feet. You couldn't help but feel guilty, you wanted to help him somehow, in some way that mattered beyond a small 'sorry'.

You took a breath and reached out your hand to touch his shoulder.

Copia flinched, only to promptly melt into your touch as you stretched your hand to massage across the planes of his shoulder blades. His eyes fluttered closed, and he released a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding.

"I'm sorry Cardinal, you let me know how I can help." You whispered.

He looked down at his lap once more, his hands were clenched tight atop his knees and you could hear the squeak of his leather gloves as his grip tightened. His head hung, seemingly in shame, and a slight sniffle could be heard.

Suddenly arms were flung around your waist, the Cardinals head pressed into your torso, you could hear hiccups as something wet began to soak your habit.

You didn't have to think, and within less than a second you were pulling Copia closer to you and rubbing his back, his body stretching to lay across to hold you tighter. The two of you stayed like that; you holding him close, rubbing his back, and applying occasional pressure to ground him while he clung to your habit for dear life.

"Hey? It's okay, you can let it out. Let it all out. You're safe."

He whimpered at your words. It'd been so long since he'd heard such comfort, felt such warmth. He didn't want to let you go and as you began to stroke his hair his heart ached.

"Amore..."
