#my characters #when i am not burning and melting and sick i really need to get my fanart folders transferred to this pc #so i do not have to hunt for references again because im lazy #i have so many fandoms with all my refs needed saved in em very neatly and orderly and i miss that convenience #im too tired to go looking for the refs i need in this heat #anyway i love fulj and her point bits ! she deserves it as a treat #in the base plot she chops her long hair off for being a hassle AFTER her punishment and memory deletion #and in the AU its a bit different since i wanted the elder god duo that hand picked the deities in canon #to be much more parental as mermaids but in like an eldritch manner of they big...#and the mermaids are all like their children and the two elders look out for them rather than punish them #so oh was up for a huge debate cause they get punished for violence against humans #buuuut in the au i dont think they would have that chance ? really? but i REALLY wanted them split in the au #so basically i decided if oh gets split as a way of protection then and appears as two mermaids instead of one #then i can use fuljs post punishment appearance and not have her memories shattered #so shes just a happy lil goldfish with spikes and she still gets to sing with ymber #anyway hi i still dont know how to draw a mermaid #happy mermay still

#ffxiv #sketch #gaius van baelsar #quintus van cinna #lucius yae galvus #titus yae galvus #some sketches that have been sitting in my folders for a bit #partially spawned thinking about lucius and how I want to format his story (unless we end up getting anything else official about him) lol #and also because I just adore the bits of art and stuff of gaius and quintus being a sniper/frontliner duo before they became legati #the context for this is just that theyre the last men standing after an ambush on their base #lucius running in to save the day (unintentionally showing off) with titus having to haul ass to try and get him off the front again #unfortunately the terrible mixture of WoL energy and golden retriever energy is not so easily contained #I dont know exactly where the idea of gaius' 'strong protect the weak' directly stems from #but I like to think of a scenario where it was in part inspired or fueled by Lucius #and that lucius' sudden death and the after effects + him climbing rank is what ends up corrupting it into the viewpoint after #I like to imagine quintus looked up to titus on the flipside and that in turn is what makes him eventually regret turning against nerva #lucius but I draw him as a lancer who so desperately wants to be a reaper #8ft tall puppy but also he embodies the maiming subclass in most aspects #i give him chrom's cape ability- but specifically for his scarf and his hair

Even sitting apart from him, Grian can feel Scar’s hold on him—arms wrapped around Grian’s abdomen, holding tightly from behind, as Scar drags them both deeper into the pit of thorns. Grian recognises that wild, wishful thinking whispering against their ears that the sharp edges they’re so willingly submerging themselves in could mean safety. He recognises the yearning to give in, to let something bladed and explosive shield them.

Stumbling and hopeless, Grian lets Scar dictate the direction of their steps, exhaustedly slumping into the hold Scar has on him, unable to relinquish the warmth of Scar’s protective intentions.

Protective Dick and Bad Parent Bruce short fic:

Dick, calmly glancing at Batman, leans forward in his chair. The other man shifts his weight at the sight of his oldest.

Dick's eyes narrow as he grabs the file in front of him. He leans back and opens the folder upon his lap. Depicted in cruel clarity are brusies, broken bones, cuts, and other injuries on three separate individuals. It seems the evidence has been collected over a period of time.

Bruce's eyes regard his son as he flicks between each photo. If the man was asked before this confrontation, he would have guessed that Dick's anger would have gotten the better of him. The son would react physically before allowing Bruce to explain. Batman even had contingencies in place to ensure Dick was contained in that instance.

Instead, no emotion is shown on his face. Dick Grayson regards the file as if it were a school assigned reading.

Finally, the young man closes the file and glances up at his father.

"Bruce."

Although Dick's tone is impassive, there's considerable implications in that word.

Did you think this was justified? It wasn't just me? How long?

Bruce remains silent.

Dick purses his lips and nods. Of course the man would refrain from speaking. That is his MO, after all.

Similar to how Bruce reverts back to stony silences, it seems Dick will always revert back to his angry Robin days.

He picks up his chair and slams it into Bruce's gut.
