THE MARKED & NAMES .

every marked member has three names — civilian name, codename, birth name.

they will always use their civilian name to anyone outside of the marked.

within the marked, they usually address each other by codename ( save for a few very prominent social figures that are usually called by their civilian name ).

very, very rarely will they ever let anyone else know their birth name ( even among each other ). that isn’t to say no one’s ever done it! there’s just usually more liability to do so since there’s no way to trace them back to their previous life. most of them have made it to headlines of some sort, and while the marked shouldn’t hold ties to the people in their first life…. no one’s perfect. it’s an incredibly hard thing to do.

all of this to say, everyone outside of the marked will only know their civilian name unless it’s plotted beforehand/written as a marked member telling others their codename. there will only be very few that might be told any of the marked’s birth name ( will most likely only happen with developed dynamics — but it is possible )!
