also 2019 nortrell streams were classics and its interesting to compare their pre-roommate era dynamics when both were still racing. shoutout to the incredible person who uploaded clips to youtube, bc lando teaching max PUBG was a particular favorite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM8Cgv-cmBY
ok so i remember watching this at the very beginning of my spiral into lando insanity and found it was cute and funny and i liked them both very much BUT watching it again just now i got a one-hit-KO in the first 30 seconds with an exact mirror of their golf fight from their last stream from the woking house in dec 2021, but here it's MAX who said, "you're only as good as your last game, bro"
#they're both insufferably competitive#and so so similar#i'm sure that phrase has been used back and forth a thousand times#which makes max's eyeroll in that stream all the more potent lmao#they both know what cards there are for them to play in their little game#gahhh#anyway thanks for getting me to rewatch that#lando norris#max fewtrell#nortrell

KRAFTON, the South Korean publisher behind PUBG: Battlegrounds and The Callisto Protocol, has acquired the Japanese development studio Tango Gameworks and the Hi-Fi RUSH intellectual property from Microsoft Gaming. The move marks KRAFTON’s first major investment in the Japanese video game market.
Tango Gameworks was founded in 2010 and became part of Microsoft Gaming when ZeniMax Media was acquired by Microsoft Gaming in 2021. In May, Zenimax Media announced Tango Gameworks’ closure.
As part of this integration, KRAFTON intends to collaborate with Microsoft Gaming to ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity at Tango Gameworks, allowing the development team to continue developing the Hi-Fi RUSH intellectual property as well as explore future projects. KRAFTON will support the Tango Gameworks team to continue its commitment to innovation and delivering fresh and exciting experiences.
Tango Gameworks’ existing games catalog, including the original Hi-Fi RUSH, The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, and Ghostwire: Tokyo, will not be impacted and will remain available everywhere they are currently available.

Looking back on the Game of the Year lineup for TGA (both for 2024 and years before) is very, very fascinating because:
- Despite their long and illustrious history with being one of the most innovative gaming minds, Nintendo has only won ONE year with BOTW in 2017.
- On that note, It Takes Two and Astro Bot are the only platformers so far to take the Game of the Year award.
- I just find it incredibly funny how in 2018, everyone was actively rooting for God of War to win over Red Dead 2, then in 2022 people were clamoring for Elden Ring to beat GOW Ragnarok, and come 2024, nobody wanted an Elden Ring DLC to win.
- Not gonna delve too much into this but Overwatch winning 2016 GOTY is... something to look back on, certainly.
- As far as I know, there has been only ONE indie game winner, with It Takes Two winning GOTY 2021. Celeste was nominated for 2018 GOTY but lost to Dad of Boy, Hades was in the running for 2020's GOTY but lost to The Last of Us 2, Stray made it to 2022's nominees but lost to Elden Ring, and finally Balatro got the 2024 GOTY runner-up, and surprisingly took a lot of awards to its name and got very close but ultimately lost to Astro Bot.
- Sony has been present as GOTY nominee for every show, sometimes even butting heads in the same year like with Dad of Boy and Spider-Man 2018, or with Ghost of Tsushima vs. TLOU2.
- PUBG was nominated for Game of the Year 2017 and I don't know how to feel about this...
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate so far is the only fighting/party game that has been nominated for a GOTY, and the only game that was nominated a year after its actual release (first released in 2018, nominated in TGA 2019).
Uhh I think that's all really, idk just got curious and went yapping about it lmao

Who is Hassamplays?
Why is Hassamplay getting famous on youtube and google trend without low subscribers?
Is Hassamplays coming back to gamer battleground?
Hassamplays is former Pakistan's most popular player of Pubg, FreeFire, Counter Strike and many other games. He played and won soo many compatitions on domestic and national level when he is just "14 year old". I also attend his matches personally. He is plays different from other players and most down to earth person. Once i met him after he won Counter Strike online match with his team against bangladeshi team, he met me and talk to me in very humble way.

Early Life:
Hassam born in Pakistan's city named Rahim Yar Khan. He and is baby brother Zain have craze of gaming from childhood from their cousins. He started is gaming experience with 90s and 20s games. Hassam always played everygame with planning and he think & played 2 step ahead from everyplayer.
Studylife
Every popular gamer have 2 options. 1st option is to focus on study and play games less and 2nd option is to play games 24x7 & forget study, result is their grade is getting low.
But i was shock when i confirmed Hassam is not only best at gaming, He is excelent in his study and grades. He got A & A+ in every exams. Hassam is a biggest example for every gamer kids that you can do game and study both in excelent way.
PrimeTime
Hassam played most popular games like Pubg, FreeFire and Couter Strike and many more. He won almost every battle online or Lan gaming. He got Pubg "Conqueror Rank" so early. He also played 1vs5 and 6 matches.
Hassamplays was very famous and polular gamer in gaming world till 2020. Every Pakiatani gamer know his name. Everyone chanted his slogan "Game On, Level Up" when they just hear Hassamplays name.
Fall Time
Quote: "They are not jealous of what you have. They are jealous of what they can't have."
Every rising and hard working person experience legpulling in his life. People try to hold you back when they can't see your success and your glowing your bright future.
In January 2021, Someone hacked to Hassam's cell phone and his Computer. Hacker download all his data and gaming accounts. Hassam contacted with Pubg and other gaming company for recover his accounts but no one listened to him and not reply his emails. Even cybercrime team also can't recover his accounts and failed to found the hacker.
It was very devestated for Hassam to lost all his precious data and gaming accounts. In newspaper they estimated Hassam's accounts price was for 50,000.00 in US dollars. After some months a anonymous hacker who was Hassam's Fan voluntarily found Hassam's Pubg accounts and sent details to Hassam. Detail showed hacker hacked hassam's account and sold it to Someone in Dubai. Hassam sent these details to Pubg's atthorities but they still refused to do anything.
Hassam tried for a whole year to recover his accounts then he lost all his hopes and leaves gaming world.

Tsai Tuesday #9
Hell yeah, we’ve done none of these already?!
Welcome to Tsai Tuesday, the best day of the week! It’s my self-appointed sacred duty to bring icon and diva Jolin Tsai to the English-speaking masses. She’s the love of my life truly, I don’t know what else to say.
Today’s song is actually a little different: it’s a collab she did in 2021 with R3HAB but it’s a TRUE bop and this one’s actually in English! Here’s “Stars Align”!
youtube
Apparently this was the theme song for the third anniversary of PUBG Mobile?? Anyways she looks soooo good in this video.

Lvl 1: Rating PUBG's Gender Representation
Ready, Player?
PUBG: Battlegrounds, the extremely popular first-person shooter, has an interesting character creation mechanic compared to its competitors--Fornite, Call of Duty, Apex Legends, etc. So does it's character creation adhere to gender stereotypes and reinforce the gender binary? Let's find out.

Ratings will go from a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being the worst---having little to no customization and strictly adhering to gender stereotypes in their character design. 10 being the best---plenty of ways to customize your character and allows for 'boundary-less' character design. For example, do masculine frame characters only sport buzzed cuts and muted colors? And, do feminine frame characters only sport long high ponytails with bows and bright saturated colors?
PUBG BATTLE GROUNDS: 5.8 out of 10
Given the game mechanics and the ultimate purpose of the game, I wasn't surprised how much PUBG lacked diverse character creation. The game is designed to be a PVP, battle royale, first-person shooter game---so I didn't really have high hopes for it.
Binary Bounded: 6 out of 10
4 out of the 9 hairstyles are shared with the two player frames---which was somewhat unexpected. These 4 hairstyles consist of a low mini ponytail, a short buzz cut, an afro, and a half shaved bob (Tales of Lumin - Character Creation & More!).
Given its micro-transaction model for wardrobe customization, there are a multitude of different ways to mix and match what your character is wearing from a full lobster costume to practically a bra and mini skirt. Players can wear all of the purchased content regardless of feminine or masculine frame and pick certain assets of the outfit to purchase rather than buying the whole set--which is actually pretty cool (Tales of Lumin - Character Creation & More!).
This allows for players to customize their character without being bounded to any existing binaries. So, they could ultimately create any type of visuals they want that are not bound by what frame they use.
Resisting Stereotypes: 5 out of 10
However, there are various things that I found problematic with the purchasable options. Although it is not relevant to my topic, it is worth noting that lot of the 'faces' that are purchasable depict (mostly) BIPOC features, rather than them just being free alongside the two faces that have white/eurocentric features. Further, most items that are clearly geared toward the feminine framed characters are hyper-sexualized. Nonetheless, I see didn't any purchasable armor for both frames either... So PUBG isn't really rooted in any realistic wardrobe expectations.
Additionally, there is no bodily customization with the two existing feminine and masculine frames. Therefore, there is only one body type represented within the respected frames that the player must use.
Overall Customization: 6.5 out of 10
TOTALS: 17.5 out of 30 = 5.8 out of 10

The Rise and Impact of Online Gaming Tournaments
Over the past two decades, online gaming has evolved from a casual pastime into a multi-billion-dollar industry, with online gaming tournaments playing a central role in this transformation. These competitive events, where players from around the world face off in various digital arenas, have grown in size, popularity, and cultural impact. Whether you're a casual gamer, an aspiring professional, or simply intrigued by the digital sports revolution, understanding the world of online gaming tournaments offers a fascinating glimpse into one of the most dynamic areas of modern entertainment.
The Evolution of Online Gaming Tournaments
The origins of competitive gaming can be traced back to local LAN parties and early arcade competitions in the 1980s and 1990s. However, the real explosion of online gaming tournaments began in the early 2000s with the rise of broadband internet and multiplayer online games. Titles like Counter-Strike, StarCraft, and Warcraft III laid the groundwork for structured competitions.
As technology advanced, gaming communities began organizing online tournaments with increasing regularity. These events allowed players to compete without geographic limitations, making the competitive gaming scene more accessible and diverse. Platforms like Twitch and YouTube further accelerated the growth by allowing fans to watch matches in real-time, fostering a global audience and a new era of gaming celebrities.
Popular Games and Genres in Tournaments
Different genres dominate the online tournament scene, each with its unique appeal and player base. Here are a few that consistently attract large audiences and substantial prize pools:
First-Person Shooters (FPS): Games like Call of Duty, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO), and Valorant are staples in competitive FPS tournaments. These games emphasize reflexes, strategy, and teamwork.
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas (MOBAs): League of Legends and Dota 2 lead this genre, known for its complex gameplay and massive international competitions like The International and Worlds.
Battle Royale Games: Titles such as Fortnite, PUBG, and Apex Legends brought a new twist to online tournaments, focusing on survival, exploration, and combat in ever-shrinking battlefields.
Sports Simulations: FIFA, NBA 2K, and Madden NFL recreate real-world sports, allowing fans to test their skills in digital versions of their favorite games.
Fighting Games: Classics like Street Fighter, Tekken, and Super Smash Bros. maintain a strong presence, especially at events like EVO (Evolution Championship Series).
The Professional Scene and Esports Organizations
As tournaments became more competitive and the stakes higher, a professional scene emerged. Today, esports teams function much like traditional sports organizations, with coaches, analysts, training regimens, and sponsorship deals.
Top-tier tournaments can offer prize pools reaching into the millions. For example, The International 2021 (a Dota 2 tournament) had a prize pool of over $40 million, the largest in esports history. Players like Johan "N0tail" Sundstein, Faker, and Bugha have become household names in the gaming world, earning significant incomes through prize winnings, streaming, and endorsements.
Esports organizations such as Team Liquid, Cloud9, Fnatic, and TSM have established themselves as global brands, with operations spanning multiple countries and games. These organizations recruit talent, create content, and represent the cutting edge of competitive gaming.
Online Tournament Platforms
Numerous platforms facilitate the organization and participation in online gaming tournaments. Some of the most prominent include:
Battlefy: Offers tools for organizing tournaments across multiple games with customizable formats.
Challonge: Known for its simple interface and bracket generation features.
Toornament: Supports professional-level tournament organization with a wide range of management tools.
FACEIT and ESEA: Specifically popular among FPS gamers for their advanced matchmaking and anti-cheat systems.
These platforms help democratize competitive gaming, allowing anyone—from amateurs to aspiring professionals—to participate, compete, and gain recognition.
The Role of Streaming and Content Creation
Live streaming has been instrumental in turning online gaming tournaments into major entertainment events. Platforms like Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Gaming allow fans to watch their favorite players and teams compete live, complete with commentary, analysis, and chat interaction.
Tournaments often feature high production values, with professional hosts, analysts, and elaborate stage setups for major finals. This convergence of sports broadcasting and interactive media makes esports events both exciting and accessible.
Content creation also extends the reach of tournaments. Highlights, tutorials, and behind-the-scenes videos help build a narrative around players and events, deepening fan engagement and attracting sponsors.
Community and Social Impact
Online gaming tournaments foster global communities. Players and fans connect across cultures and languages, united by a shared passion for gaming. Forums, Discord servers, Reddit threads, and social media groups allow fans to discuss matches, analyze strategies, and celebrate victories together.
Tournaments also promote diversity and inclusion, though challenges remain. Initiatives to support female gamers, LGBTQ+ players, and underrepresented regions are gaining traction, highlighting the need for ongoing progress in making esports truly inclusive.
Economic and Career Opportunities
Beyond entertainment, online gaming tournaments offer real economic opportunities. Players can earn money through competitions, sponsorships, and streaming. Meanwhile, career paths in coaching, game analysis, broadcasting, event management, and marketing are growing within the esports ecosystem.
Game developers and publishers also benefit from increased engagement and brand loyalty. Companies like Riot Games and Valve have built entire business models around competitive gaming, leveraging tournaments to sustain interest and drive in-game purchases.
Challenges and Controversies
Despite its many positives, the online tournament scene faces challenges. Issues like cheating, match-fixing, and toxicity within communities can undermine the integrity of competition. Regulatory frameworks and better moderation are being developed to address these problems.
Player burnout and mental health are also pressing concerns. The pressure to perform, constant travel (for hybrid tournaments), and intense training schedules can take a toll. Leading organizations are beginning to implement wellness programs to support players’ mental and physical health.
The Future of Online Gaming Tournaments
The future of online gaming tournaments looks bright. As technology advances—particularly with virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 5G connectivity—new formats and experiences are emerging. Virtual arenas, real-time data overlays, and more immersive spectator experiences could redefine how we engage with competitive gaming.
Moreover, as esports becomes more integrated into mainstream culture—appearing in schools, universities, and even the Olympics—the legitimacy and longevity of online gaming tournaments are all but guaranteed.
Conclusion
Online gaming tournaments are more than just digital battles; they represent a global cultural phenomenon, a thriving industry, and a new form of competitive entertainment. From grassroots competitions to world-class championships, these events are reshaping the landscape of gaming and sports alike. As accessibility, technology, and interest continue to grow, the world of online tournaments will only become more vibrant, inclusive, and impactful.

The Marketing of Godzilla vs Kong
It all started with the release of the trailer that sparked the internet right when it came out. On January 24, 2021, the official trailer dropped and it immediately trended worldwide. In just 24 hours, it racked up over 25 million views across platforms. The trailer emphasized a big rivalry waiting to happen, and ended with a question for the media and followers. #TeamGodzilla or #TeamKong?
Brands later came in which produced merch and gaming across platforms. PUBG Mobile featured a Godzilla vs. Kong crossover event. Funko Pop! released exclusive collectibles of the two titans. Walmart and Amazon carried themed merch like toys, posters, and T-shirts. TikTok launched an augmented reality filter that let users simulate roaring like either monster Titan.
Lastly, this movie was released at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic that left America with a national emergency and the world with a deadly virus. In a bold move the released the film in theaters and on HBO Max due to COVID. They feared that this strategy would diminish ticket sales but the opposite happened. The film earned over $470 million worldwide, making it the highest-grossing pandemic-era release at the time.
