Eye Public toilets in the Cross Street Car park.Eye Town Council financed refurbishments and recently a significant amount of maintenance and a deep clean was accomplished to offer a high standard facility to the public and the toilets were reopened last month. The toilets are tended each morning by the council’s cleaning team who keep a high standard of cleaning of the facilities. The toilets have already been targeted by vandals with several doors broken and the toilets being left in an unusable condition on another occasion. This unwanted vandalism costs everyone money as the upkeep is funded through the council tax. CCTV will be installed and will be in operation very soon. In the future when every lamppost has a camera watching everything that everyone does the vandals can stand back and boast I made that happen. Conceptual design by Nikhil Jain Located in the Mumbai, India. Lack of proper sanitation, infrastructure, and inadequate green spaces are most evident in urban poor, and rural communities in India. Due to the lack of appropriate access to clean water and related infrastructures such as toilets, waterborne dis- eases cost India more in actual societal and economic losses than the average level across the world. Therefore this exercise focuses on the issue of sanitation and creating green spaces for social gathering and interaction in an urban conglomerate of Mumbai. The proposal aims at providing affordable modules which can be replicated at various locations within a community slum. It could be even adjoined together to make a bigger complex for the community. Toilet blocks could be proposed in the lower ground and slightly raised platforms can be used as green spaces for small/ large gatherings. The Community Green Spaces are interactive, communal, and children-focused gardens that transform unused and under-used land into green spaces where youth and adults can interact with their natural environment and explore their creativity. Eye Town Council meeting, this month was all good new for the town of Eye Suffolk. News that construction of the Cross Street development moves a step forward to reality after drifting for the past two years. Paddock House demolition is full steam ahead with Mid Suffolk District Council steering their project for 16 affordable homes 11 part ownership and 5 for rent in the town centre. Oak Crescent Pocket Park play and fitness area has a finish date with a grand opening by the chair of Mid Suffolk District Council, Councillor James Caston and assisted by our own Town Mayor Councillor Johnnie Walker on March 18th. Plans were also put forward for a week of entertainment next year when the Eye Bach Choir celebrates 50 years of singing in the town. The town has gained a new councillor Robert Spreadbury who was unanimously voted to join the council. The public toilets have now reopened after the installation of new floors by @johndoeofdiss also a deep clean, the cctv anti crime system will be operational very soon.
