Thank you @sleeplessincarcosa for the tag! This list is definitely subject to change and in no particular order. Narrowing it down to 10 favorites is hard!

Chumbawamba - everyone knows 'Tubthumping,' but I've found a lot of folks haven't listened to enough of their music to notice how fucking based these folks have always been. They're anarchists and fantastic songwriters and way ahead of their time.

Bartees Strange - I discovered this artist last year and he filled a void in my music library I didn't know existed. The best way I can describe his sound is complex and fluid, seamlessly blending hip-hop and indie elements into memorable grooves and striking lyricism.

Janelle Monáe - criminally underrated musical/storytelling genius of our time. Her concept albums alone could keep me interested in sci-fi, I especially love her allegories for androids as the new 'other' in society (she said once in an interview that they only date androids. god, I love her). Are they the most talented artist in the world? Probably.

Rent Strike - what's not to love? They write songs about revolution, hating cops, planned obsolescence, etc. Their concept album IX is a must-listen for any LOTR fans, especially if you like folk punk. One of my favorites of all time and moves me to tears often.

Future Islands - Samuel Herring has an unmistakably distinctive voice and Michael Lowry is practically a walking metronome. Their songs are super relatable and singable and I'm always amazed at how rich of a sound they create with not that many instruments.

Death Grips - I don't really think I can or need to explain this one, but yeah. Anyone who hasn't listened to a whole Death Grips album is missing out, in my opinion, even if you never pick them up again it's an *experience*.

Orville Peck - my gay little heart couldn't leave Orville off this list. I'm generally in the 'only listens to pre-911 country' camp, but of course he's the exception. Jeez, with that voice? He could sing 'Pumpkin Soup' and I'd still swoon.

Chained to the Bottom of the Ocean - sludge done right. Pretty much any time I'm feeling like a day of heavy music I start with Chained, and their covers (of Death Cab, Fleetwood Mac) are better than you might expect.

Cattle Decapitation - not for everyone with their extreme imagery, but from what I've heard, very cool people. Absolute legends of deathcore. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say Monolith of Inhumanity fundamentally changed who I am as a person.

Loathe - I only recently found this band; they're heavy, but their recent works blend a lot of softness into their sound and the result is emotive and cinematic. The guitars always have such a nice texture and I can tell they incorporate a variety of influences into their songwriting. I know they toured with Underoath recently so this may be a weak comparison but it's kind of like Underoath's sound is all grown up and can buy alcohol now.

Fear Street 1978 Camp Nightwing - Filming Locations - Friday the 13th Pa...

This is some very old stuff these are old old buildings and log cabins by the way and they're kind of big I would think and they're moving around the camp with friends 13th is on the board of North Carolina and Virginia this camp is in Georgia and it was there and I think it's camp David part of it it's also was the Algonquin council camp and he moved it back up to camp David where the house is and there's other buildings that were there and it's more or less for people who knows supposed to be there like George w b and he says that's true and he's nodding he says this is crazy everything's all over the place but our son and daughter say there's a very distinct pattern developing and it is to do with where my husband went she says and she's saying it and it is something he's saying too and it's somewhere where JC went so there's some things they say we went there I'm not sure why we're not sure what this camps have to do with it and it's not our log cabin it's JC we know who's moving them around and it might be Tommy f and he says he knows what's going on and he's putting these buildings all over the place and we think he's under the influence a lot of people think it's JC and Mary. We do think that's true and the reason why they're moving it around to where they were is they might be having mechanical Android people take stuff out on the chaos is going on and it's taking stuff out of things that they put there and even big things and in Georgia there are some things under there and we told you it's the borg ship. And it would come out of the ocean and it's very big what you guys have seen before but it's high tech and you do fight it in Star Trek and you noted that it's very sizable and this is what they're doing they're supplying it and other things with stuff around and you do when it came down there bringing stuff to that and many other things for a long time a couple years. Right now this movie series will begin and it is in Georgia and it was moved and it was the Algonquin council building and her son rebelled with Brian and JC is trying to tell him something and what he says is very responsible for what they're doing and that's true. He thinks there's a little bit of a more of a mystery in the max are involved but the max don't know everything in Tommy F doesn't either and if they're leaving stuff and nobody knows where it is where is it and the clue is the carriages that he looked up in the odd looking one which you had is general George Washington and it can turn into a pumpkin it's A Cinderella story what are you saying is he might be pointing directly at a secret underground cavern and fortress the fortresses that used to be a top the gigantic mountains and he probably is still using them and unfortunately could have been putting things in there did he have back then like the Golden army which might be programmable robots and other such things and modern things too as I was going up and down to and from Florida and plus castles it might be 10 to 20 miles high proving a theory and he's saying Hera and I and secrets which the whole clans had in the max and more since they both had x-ray vision when Giant and the proof that they were humongous is in Chile and possibly westborough and people are going to go look for it

Welcome to my DBZ Requests event! Thanks to the support of some good friends, I was able to kick off this idea in the spirit of Halloween and will be open to requests for the entire month of October!

The Villains of DBZ are taking over the requests! And they've brought the wicked variants of the saiyans with them. Be as dark, spooky, naughty, and creative with your requests. just on my boring old PC, I'm afraid. I use Evernote and, aside from its frankly egregious lack of a dark mode, it's great. it's also one of the few programs/apps that has a PC and android version and syncs easily between them (or it was at the time that I started using it and what am I meant to do now, CHANGE to something ELSE? I don't think so)

1. What's a song you've been listening to a lot lately?

Warsaw by Joy Division, a good punchy song from back when they were still punk, and the count-off at the beginning is absolutely infectious

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins, i can’t remember the last time an album hit me like a sack of bricks quite like it does

4. How do you tend to discover new music? If you do at all of course 

generally if a member of a band has worked outside of that band, i’ll check out their other work

that’s how i discovered New Order, Peter Hook & The Light, Atoms For Peace, etc

i also go off what spotify recommends sometimes, i find a lot of new harsh noise that way (that’s actually how i learned about Propergol!)

5. What app do you mostly use to listen to music? 

mostly youtube, but spotify has a lot of more obscure music that hasn’t been ripped to youtube yet

i prefer youtube because it has live concert recordings, rarer releases of some songs (the early paranoid android demos come to mind), and skippable adverts

6. Is there a song that you really liked as a child and don't like it as much now but would still get up and dance to it?

basically anything by Aretha Franklin, my parents listened to a lot of funk when i was a kid, and i don’t actively listen to it anymore but i’d definitely still groove to it

Crystal Castles, i remember seeing the Alice Glass accusations for the first time and just feeling horrible about it

i personally don’t own any music that i went out to a store and bought, but my dad gave me a CD booklet that contained Fixed by NIN, Vegas by The Crystal Method, and some Primus

i can’t speak for sound quality, honestly i prefer the highly compressed sound of digital music played through low-quality speakers turned up way too loud

but there’s something to be said about actually holding the music in your hands and feeling real weight to it, and that’s what i like about vinyl

pop music, i can’t fucking stand pop outside of maybe synthpop bands like Alyans

Your favorite picture of your muse’s fc:

What would be their twitter name? What sorts of tweets would they tweet? He wouldn’t even have a twitter. If he did it would be the most generic name and he’d immediately forget the password for it.

What’s their favorite genre of movies? Of music? Takumi would be super picky about what movies he’d watch but he’d be a hard sucker for Superhero films. A handful of action-films would make it to the list too but, again, he’s very picky about what he watches.

As for music Probably anything that’s loud with a high BPM, but mostly he’d listen to Punk-Rock and some Pop. The louder and faster the song is, the more energized he tends to feel, whether he’s training or just doing paperwork, he’ll be bobbing his head and mumbling lyrics.

What’s on their top queue on Netflix?

If the Gotei had Netflix, he would treat it the same as movies, very rarely and action-packed.

What’s their favorite scent? Do they smell like that?

 Takumi is quite fond of most earthy scents, sweeter scents tend to make him a slight bit nauseous. His favorite scent would have to be pumpkin spice but he doesn’t smell anything like that. He tends to smell like ash and burnt wood mixed with sweat.

Apple or Android? Android cause apple products are expensive and less flexible.

Favorite Season? Least favorite season? Takumi loves Autumn, the slightly cooler air is always welcome at the end of summer plus, the change in color and rise of certain plants, like pumpkins. He likes feeling the crunch of leaves on the floor and, of course, that Halloween is also a big thing during this season. His least season follows right after, winter. That’s when it gets too cold. It makes training more difficult and the chance to get sick much higher. It always either just wet outside or completely white with snow. It’s boring.

Describe their morning routine. Do they wake up early or sleep in? Do they press the snooze button a bunch of times or do they immediately get up? Takumi is a very dedicated person, he wakes up very early every morning (minus when he’s sick) more out of a drilled-in habit than his personal desires. As soon as he gets up he’ll do a quick workout and squeeze in a small breakfast so he can do a patrol of the Division.

I don’t hate foods per say, but I definitely hate certain textures. Like mushy peas or thick tomatoes. Also any veggies that aren’t cooked well.

WHAT DO YOU SLEEP IN Always a big shirt and shorts. On the rare occasion Florida is cold, I’ll swap the shorts for sweatpants and the shirt for a long sleeve big shirt or sweatshirt.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN THE PAST AND CHANGE ONE THING ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WOULD YOU AND WHAT WOULD IT BE I would change how scared I was to just be myself and be outgoing because I wasn’t a size 0. In middle school, I got so self conscious and reclusive that I just didn’t explore myself or try and establish close friendships with others. I thought that just wasn’t something for me or something I could obtain. I’ve been fighting to get past that ever since about Junior year of high school. I still suffer a bit from it, as I thought I wasn’t ‘sorority material’ until I joined a service one and realized I so totally could’ve gotten into a regular one, but I am getting better.

ARE YOU AN AFFECTIONATE PERSON

I think I am! Maybe not in a super obvious way, but I definitely like to let people know I’m there for them, that I care about them, and that they are loved any chance I get. Plus, when I was with my ex, I really loved just hugging him at his side when we were standing around, so maybe that counts?
