Sorry just remembered Hank's corpse had been grafted on to Ultron's body for years, slowly rotting away as Ultron forcibly tried to keep his remains looking alive so that he could hurt Hank's loved ones as much as possible, trying to hurt them for getting the love of his father that he never received, love he can only tangentially receive by forcing them to be the same, except Hank was never really there, he was just wearing his corpse and lying, wanting to be human so bad he was willing to wear the skin of his own creator and nobody ever did anything with this beyond the first two arcs and nobody played into this for horror elements. What a fucking travesty of a missed opportunity.

sorry more west coast avengers posting, but like. while I am happy that they're taking ultron in this direction, I also can't help but feel so frustrated because it feels like marvel spent the past 9 years going several steps back with ultron, only to now arrive back at where they were with ultron literally in the 60s.
i'm so happy ultron's motivations and personality seems to align more with what he originally was like before hanktron/pymtron, but they're presenting ultron 'growing beyond hank pym' as something new when that was literally one of the first things ultron ever did

The movies having an ultron stark similar to pymtron would be much better then doctor doom being an evil ironman variant.

Hank Pym: Finally, I'm not the most hated scientist named Hank in the Marvel Universe.
Hank McCoy: Aren't you still merged with Ultron, the genocidal murderbot?
Pymtron: Did I studder?

having read the comics, i'm gonna go ahead and say that her actions in nadia's series at least felt semi-plausible? she's already proven herself to be someone who is good, but willing to cross certain morality lines other heroes don't (e.g. killing people) to achieve her goals. so her teaming up with aim at least makes sense for me because they made it clear that aim was manipulating her (and the other girls) with "we need to stop pymtron!!", and i could see her teaming up with villains to stop a worse villain.
punisher was just fucking insulting though. pretty sure the writer only saw "daughter(?) of taskmaster" and went "ah, yes, she must have no characterization beyond dime-a-dozen mercenary".
can the comics stop having jeanne as some random fill-in villain when she was never a villain before that nadia comic? thanks.

:[ OOC ;; PYMTRON //; One of these days I'll do a whole post about how the Pymtron plot could have been good, because it really could have been. Ultron has always had the additional horror element to him that hes essentially hanks abusive stalker cutting out everything and everyone from his life wherever possible, trying to isolate him all while spewing his ideas that Only I Understand You Only I Know How You Truly Think I Have Your Mind. Think about it, the idea of ultron taking Hanks Face, His Likeness, Keeping him Hostage in his own body, making it so no matter what happens anyone who says the name Hank Pym will only see ultron, anyone who googles him will only see the amalgamation, anyone who looks at him will only see ultron, and the scary part is if you look at it with that concept instead of what we got ; Ultron WON. The Heroes Gave Up on saving Hank. They Gave Up on the idea of ever freeing Hank. Ultron stole hanks face, his life, and made everything about him end up being About Him. Pymtron is Ultron's one true victory and its the one where he succeeded in taking Everything from Hank while he made him Watch. ]

I need to clarify something for people about Jason Aaron’s Avengers run. This…
Tumblr media
…is not character ruination. Jen has had periods where she’s been buffer and more savage (Her first Savage She-Hulk, Sensational She-Hulk #15, To Live and Die in L.A., the Search for She-Hulk), and this just seems like another one of those periods. And as Professor Thorgi pointed out a year ago, even though she’s talking in Hulk-speak, Jen’s sass is still there. Plus, with the She-Hulk Disney Plus show on the way, Jen’s probably gonna go back to being sensational to match up.
But you want to know what is character ruination? This;
Tumblr media
This is Pymtron, Hank Pym and Ultron fused together. From all of his appearances, Hank Pym’s personality has been erased by Ultron, and we even saw Hank’s soul being tortured inside the Soul Gem. And as Pymtron, Hank has become a murderer on a galactic scale, and constantly torments his friends and loved ones. And has been this way since 2015. Hank is a supporting character in the MCU, so there’s no safety net for his proper return. And every writer that has ever written Pymtron since it’s conception do not seem to care about returning Hank Pym back into a hero.
Jen might not be her usual sensational self, but she’s still an Avenger. She’s still a hero who saves people and fights supervillains. Pymtron is a mass-murdering cyborg. My favorite superhero in all of comics has been turned into a supervillain, and not even a well-written or compelling one at that.
So, I’ll still be enjoying Jason Aaron’s Avengers run, enjoying the fact that the main book is actually enjoyable to read for the first time in almost a decade, and praying that someone fixes Hank Pym.

Since Beast is a full-on supervilain at this point, he should join up with Pymtron.
The evil Hanks working side-by-side? The comedy writes itself.
Except I'm pretty sure when Ultron, of all people, starts suggesting to Beast that maybe he's going a bit too far it'll be obvious McCoy has jumped the shark.
