You heard your name and you tried opening your eyes, getting yourself to wake up from your deep slumber.

“Mhmn?” You hummed, wondering why he was calling in the middle of the night.

“Nothing. Nothing, go back to sleep.” He said, enveloping you in his arms. His face dipped close on the crook of your neck while his hold on you tightened.

He always kept things to himself and you just learned, throughout the course of your relationship,  the little cues that told things about him. His little gestures that spoke volume than his words.

“Is there something wrong?” You asked, worried by his unusual actions.

He shook his head. “Just had a bad dream.”

“Hmm?” You turned towards him. “What’s it about?”

He avoided your gaze. “Nothing, don’t bother.”

Even though he didn’t say, you knew there’s something wrong. You cupped his face, trying to give him comfort despite not knowing what’s going on.

You felt him leaned to your touch. His jaw clenched as his vision glistened from unexpressed tears, watering his orbs. Finally, your eyes met and couldn’t help but bare it all at the sight of your loving gaze.

“I dreamed that you aren’t waking up anymore.” He took a deep inhale. “That there’s nothing I could do but desperately try to shake you awake. You’re not responding and...and-“ His voice was shaking as he tried to speak.

“It was a dream. Just a dream, okay. I’m still here.” You brought yourself close to him, arms wrapped firm around his frame. You never thought he held so much love for you until now when he's so vulnerable and his soul, bare. "I just right here. I'm still here."

“I know...” He said. His hold on you getting tighter. He knew. He knew it was just a dream, but it didn’t take away the fact that he could lose you any moment. All this time he knew he wanted you by his side, but he never thought that the day would come when he would value every morning he’d wake up next to you this much. That’s why he’s begging...“Just stay still. Stay with me.”

"honey" you speak again in a louder voice. you might think he want to annoy you, though actually in his opinion that was far from his plan. tooru only came closer, wrap arms around you, make you shift your original position so he could rest his back on the sofa and behind you. this man watch you struggling not to die, concentrating hard to practically stabbing your fingers against the screen as quickly as possible. it's been like 3 minutes or so, now let's witness his real plan together. simple enough, tooru jab his finger carelessly and the game is over. genius. sure you can groan, be mad or snap at him. oikawa would smile, "well now that you're dead. plus why would you want to get frustrated over nothing when you have such handsome and amazing boyfriend to spend your time with anyway?"

our milky boy understands well that when you fall in love with something, you wouldn't want to stop doing it until you're satisfied, no word could ever describe how volleyball mean to him either. however, when that game pop up on your phone's screen, he doesn't like a single minute you choose to spend with it instead of him. therefore dear readers, you can't blame a soul when tobio start to plunge for action by taking your phone away and put it in some corners you don't even recall was there in your shared apartment. then he would have all the excuse to throw you over his shoulders since in his personal schedule it says right now is late night cuddle sessions time. atsumu has been staring at you for 10 minutes straight. with an evident scowl on his face. at first you wouldn't mind it, but now it's making you quite uncomfortable. when you ask him what's wrong, the grumpy fox doesn't even try to hide his distaste. not until you have to reluctantly toss your phone aside and hold his hand. much to your delight, atsumu finally commit some movement. the blonde press a light kiss to your left cheek, and then another to your right. it's quite a habit of him, kissing every inch of your face before the last land on your lips. so as you reach for it, a surprise hit you when he lean away. your eyebrows were furrowed just for some seconds before tsumu's statement clarify everything. "if yer want my kiss, princess, delete that stupid game first"

omi clicked his toungue for the fourth time in a row as you squeal when you got some rare characters from gacha. you were eager to present it to him while continuously smacking his arm in excitement. i suppose it's needless to elaborating on how pissed he was at the moment. sakusa shot you a quick glare to which you completely missed. he has to purposely push the phone firmly down to your lap and make you look at him. you make an attempt to say something but only if his fingers hadn't been taped to your cheeks. his loose black locks fall over his cold, emotionless eyes, yet you could gaze at his attractive features all day. and kiyoomi holds back a small smile once he know that he's winning. "since you really like playing such games, have a one on one battle with me. if you win, go off with it. but if i win," the man paused mid sentence to run a thumb over your bottom lips, "your time will be mine"

headcanons under the cut <3

When they first met Kageyama in Kitagawa Daiichi Middle School, he was dismissive of them. Despite colliding with his shoulders, and them dropping their books and falling to their knees, the 5’11” guy towered over them, and his blue eyes glared at them, making them recoil back.

“Oi, dumbass,” he shouts, “watch where you're going and who you collide against,” and he walks away. Their knees were scraped, but it was this that stung the most. They squinted and fist-clenched, tears welling up in their eyes. "Sometime I'll give him a taste of his medicine."

They didn’t realize, however, that this guy, “Tobio Kageyama,” would be their bench partner for the rest of their semester. “(L/N)-kun, if you're going to ask me to change your seat,” the teacher called out to them as if she sensed their thoughts, “you can't.”

Days passed, and they continued to bicker over the tiniest of issues. From failing to complete projects to making fun of one other after one of you failed an exam.

However, the dynamic began to shift in an instant. The Junior High Athletics Meet Volleyball Finals. When they arrived to watch the volleyball match, they noticed that Kageyama was constantly scolding Kindaichi and Kunimi until they told him that they had given up on him, causing their coach to sideline Kageyama from the game. They had a good view of Kageyama from where they were seated, and they noticed him crying. Kageyama may have been dismissive of his teammates, but he wasn't a monster.

When Kageyama returned to school a few days later, they gave him strawberry milk cartons. "What does this mean, (y/n)?" he said, perplexingly taking the container from them. "I'm proposing a truce," they said. “I observed your match and am sorry for the mishap. Here's a little something to brighten your day.”

Kageyama then threw a small smile their way and said thank you before opening the carton, only for the milk to splash on his face. Silence wafted around the both of them for a while before they burst out laughing and pointing at a drenched Kageyama.“I finally got my revenge,” they declared. A snort was heard from Kageyama, and they both laughed again; he laughed with them for what seemed like the first time in ages.

Since then, they began to grow closer. They worked on a project with each other. Regardless of them constantly bickering, they managed to complete the project successfully.

They ran away from home once because they were having an argument with their mother and needed to get away from that environment, so the nearest house they could find was Kageyama's. When they knocked, Miwa, Kageyama's sister, opened the door. They came in, sobbing, and Miwa offered her shoulder until she exclaimed, "Tobio!!"

The moment Tobio came, he saw and ran to them, putting a hand on his shoulder to calm them down. “Listen, (Y/N),” Tobio said, “I think you should sleep here for the night.” As they were getting ready to sleep, they saw Tobio preparing a futon for himself to sleep on the floor. They asked if he wanted to sleep on the couch instead, to which Kageyama answered in a stern manner, "You can sleep in my bed but I'm not sleeping on the couch. My back hurts." (Y/N) chuckled, causing Tobio to smile and they both slept peacefully that night.

After both of them graduated from Kitagawa Daiichi, they didn’t speak to each other for some time, until they decided to attend high school in Karasuno. One day, as they took a stroll along the school corridors, someone’s shoulder bumped into them, causing them to stumble a bit. They quickly apologized until a familiar voice called their name; they looked up and realized that they bumped into Kageyama Tobio again.

This time, both of them smiled at each other. “Nice to see you again, Kageyama,” they greeted him with a smile. He nodded in return, lips curled into a smile, saying: “You too, L/N.” He scowled as soon as he heard a loud booming voice echoing across the corridors, coming from a small, orange-haired boy charging towards their direction: “KAGEYAMAAAAA!”

They got to witness Kageyama's athletic and emotional growth in Karasuno. They started to hang out outside at the Sakanoshita Store and would get meat buns to eat along the way. Both of them would even walk each other back home, and they even started attending Kageyama’s volleyball practice matches. They even bonded with Hinata, Yamaguchi, Yachi and oddly enough, Tsukishima. They even thanked the whole team, especially Daichi, the captain, for helping him grow.

As soon as Kageyama made it to the nationals for the first time, they ran up to him and embraced him, telling him, "Congratulations, Kageyama, I'm so proud of you!", to the point where Kageyama would smile and say, "thank you for always being there for me."

Years passed, and Hinata and Yachi would always tease Kageyama and (Y/N), and both of them would get flustered and unable to answer questions. However, after they graduated from high school, everyone stopped being in touch with each other.

During the match between Schweiden Adlers and MSBY Black Jackals, when the teams were about to start playing, Kageyama caught a glimpse of Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Yachi sitting together with them. The reason he felt like he had butterflies in his stomach when they waved at him was unknown to him.

Even though Kageyama's team lost the match, they ran up to meet him. They said, "Hi, you played very well. I'm proud of you," Red began blooming on Kageyama’s cheeks at their compliment. Flustered, they spoke, "Umm, well, I'll be leaving town in a couple of days. Would you like to catch up?” Kageyama nodded.

The next day, Kageyama came home to meet them. (Y/N) was busy making his favorite dish, pork curry with an egg on the top. They smiled and greeted him.

No sooner did he enter and sit, than the food was ready. They got two bowls to the table and started eating. “So, what do you do these days?” He asked, to which they replied, “Oh, I work as a (favorite profession) now. In fact, I've moved to Italy.” Kageyama smiled, and told them: “I’m also getting scouted by one of the amazing men’s volleyball teams in Italy, too.” Both of their eyes twinkled brighter than any of the lights in their houses.

After cleaning up, they collided shoulders again, but this time they were both blushing heavily. “Kageyama, I…” they were about to confess their feelings for him, but Kageyama cut them to the chase, saying, “I like you too, (Y/N)! I always have.” This caused both of them to be surprised and they laughed again. As they drew closer to Kageyama, they said, “Kageyama, I’d like for us to try it out when we’re in Italy.”

A bright smile had spread across his face as he cupped their cheeks, and said, "First of all, call me Tobio. Secondly, I'd love it (Y/N). It was good that our shoulders collided back then, because it was the moment when our worlds collided."

He watched you closely as you sleep on your desk, his face just so close to yours, when you awakened and raised your head before opening your eyes. Your lips bumped on each other and his hand immediately flew to his knowing fully well that you kissed. He turned around and you asked him—equally flustered, “D-Did we..?” His back was still facing you, “Would you...” He began and turned around, “Would you let me do it properly?”

It was when he planned to playfully surprise you. Sneakily, he went near your ear and started blowing which made you turn your head out of reflex and accidentally kissed him. He slightly parted and his eyes seemed to search yours for a brief moment then he closed them again and leaned forward. This time he kissed you for real.

You were talking with Kageyama while he sipped his daily dose of milk when you noticed a stray droplet on his chin. You were signaling it to him, but he couldn’t get the spot right. You tiptoed and he leaned forward as you offered to wipe it off for him, when Hinata ran past behind you and bumped into causing you to kiss him.

You were walking hand in hand when Sachirou noticed that there’s something going on with you. You’ve been scrunching your nose often and this prompted him to check up on you about it, “Are you...”

Not letting him finish, you explained. “Oh, it’s my nose. It’s itchy.”

Still, he was suspicious but he let it slip until a big sneeze hit you and you did your best not to push through with it.

“That-” Before you can even finish explaining, he was already giving you the ‘you’re busted don’t even try’na hide it’ look.

Oh.

You felt the urge to sneeze again and he reached out his handkerchief to you. You were about to use his hanky but it smelled so good and so him. Like, how could you even taint his hanky with your colds, when you’d rather keep it for yourself. *wink* wink*

Secretly, you kept his hanky to your pocket and used your own instead.

Sachirou smiled to himself. He totally knew you hid his hanky and he found it cute. He slid his arm over your shoulder and kissed you on top of your head, whispering, “You can keep my handkerchief.”

Oh. You blushed.

»—KENMA

You were hanging out in his room when he noticed that you kept on sneezing. He was looking over at you from time to time while playing his game as you curled into a ball underneath his blanket. 

“I think you’re sick.” He asked concerned, but you bluffed him off.

“Nah, I’m not. Just the weather, I guess.”

You sneezed again and there he had it.

“You’re sick.”

“I’m not.”

“Yes, you are.” Now, he sounded half-concerned and half-annoyed. Like, why would you keep it from him?

“No, I’m not.”

But another sneeze betrayed you.

“You are.” He flatly said, but you just hid further under his comforter.

“Hey,” Kenma called out as he sighed and sat beside you. Seeing you peeked from under the covers, he let you know. “I’m gonna buy you medicine, okay?”

You nodded in response. Before he goes, he placed a kiss on your cheek.  “That’s...to increase your HP.” And then, he burst out of the room. >///<

»—KAGEYAMA

You visited Kageyama during his training and it’s finally time he takes a break. You were asking him about his game when you sniffled. He placed a hand over your forehead and asked, “Are you just fine?”

“Yes, yes. I’m okay. Don’t worry.” You affirmed knowing that he can get extra at times. 

“You kept on sneezing and sniffling. You’re not feeling well.” He was just seated beside you for less than five minutes, how could he say that? “I can’t help but notice you while I’m training.”

Oh, how can he be so thoughtful? He’s so attentive of you even when he’s playing volleyball. You blushed at this thought. 

 “You’re flushed. You’re totally not fine.”

“Th-This is not because of my colds. This is nothing!” It’s because of you! You tried to explain, but he worried even more.

Cupping your cheek, he insisted, “What are you talking about? You’re getting even redder!”

It took him a lot of explaining before he understood what’s going on and yes, you had to spell it out for him in full details before he picked it up. 

When you came home, he did all your chores for you reprimanding you whenever you tried to move. He also served you a glass of warm milk before bedtime and made sure you’re properly tucked in bed and in his arms. 😌✨

KENMA asked through voice call after your ceremony ended, “How’s online graduation?” You sighed, “I wish I could march though.” You heard him softly giggle on the other end. Ah, those little expressions he only openly expressed to you. Just how much you miss him a lot. “That’s okay, I’m...very proud of you by the way.” You smiled and thanked him, remembering the nights he never put the phone down that he even fell asleep on you on the other end just to keep you company while doing your requirements. “Y/N...” You heard him murmured on the other and then he mumbled something you couldn’t quite understand. “Kenma? What is it?” You asked and he sighed big time. “I said I...I wish I was there with you.”

KITA was standing at the rear end of the hall waiting for the ceremony to finish. You immediately ran to him and he captured you in his arms. You looked up to him, chin resting on his chest. “I did it!” You said. He chuckled a little, his eyes full of tenderness as he remembered all those nights you didn’t get a wink and those days when the only thing he could offer was the comfort of his presence by your side. You deserved this. All of this. His eyes showed it by the way they sparkle almost close to tears and the way his smile was just the most gentle you ever knew. The warm caress of his hand over the top of your head made you want to melt in his embrace as he leaned to plant a soft kiss on your forehead. “I’m so proud of you, my love.” He whispered.

AKAASHI had your hand in his as you walked around your campus. "I hope your parents didn't mind that I borrowed you for a short period of time." He commented which made you laugh. "What are you talking about? They love you!" He shyly cleared his throat and you noticed that he stopped in his tracks when he got to a place where it’s just the two of you. “Turn around,” he gently asked and followed as he told so. Next thing you knew, he maneuvered a necklace around your neck. “W-What is this?” You asked in surprise. “A grad gift?” Your eyes glimmered. “Aside from that,” he blushed and looked away covering the lower half of his face. “That’s also for being an honorable mention in my life.”

KAGEYAMA was congratulating you over the phone when your call got cut and you received a message from him. I’m here. Your eyes widened in shock. It had been quite long since you last saw each other and right now the moment felt like you’re Romeo and Juliet having a rendezvous near at your place. There, you saw him standing with gifts for you. You just wanted to jump in his arms but you couldn’t. You approached him as he handed his gifts. You thanked him, both of you staring at the ground. “Congratulations! You got an honor. That must feel like winning in inter-school.” He said and you grinned at his comparison. “I guess so. So, uh, you really came here.” “Yeah, I want to see you.” That victorious smile on your face that made him equally feel triumphant. His hands itched to hold yours and so he did. “Maybe, this isn’t not allowed.” You just both stared and blushed at the ground.

At first, he was in awe of you and puts you in a pedestal like some kind of an idol or sum’n

You liked that about him add that he knows you like it’s natural

You thought it was a soulmate connection but think again!

Little did you know that he followed you and studied your every movement

Also knew your daily schedule and routine and imitated your way of life

Once he finally got you, the King shows up

He saw many errors in your way thus he wanted to bring out the “best” in you

Doesn’t hurt you tho, but he lacks consideration 

Or he may actually hurt you at times when he got totally irritated

Loves pushing you to the limit…more than your body can bear (and it’s not volleyball we’re talking about here)

Will rile you up until you lose consciousness (doesn’t matter if you’re hurting or what)

This guy’s smart, so he’s probably planning an effective course of action to monopolize you without you even noticing it

No, he won’t eliminate anyone (not that we are aware of??? srsly, this guy could stage his innocence for a murder)

But he’s so good at setting you up that you can only see him

You will not know what makes you follow him around and he’s even acting so nonchalantly about it

You don’t know why but he has you begging for his attention

It’s all part of his intricate plan as he carefully analyzed  your behavior

And telling your mind creeping into your subconscious what you should believe in

When he has you all under his control, he’ll waste no time to tease and deny you

This guy’s degrading kink gaming is strong

Will call you names, literally belittles you for his amusement (just bc he’s tall lololol)

Yet you kept liking it more and more

Until he’s seriously the only one on your mind and on your sight clearly blocking any aspect of this universe in your perspective BUT HIM

For him, there’s nothing more beautiful and wonderful but you

It’s not difficult to like him back, he’s really adorable and gentle and normal (?)

Until, he’s gradually getting overboard with lowering himself before you

Very obsessed with you like everything he does is for you in an extremely overrated manner

Like if you’re a girl, he’s even more aware of your period more than you are

Even this sweet being can have a possessive side tho he seemed like can’t hurt anybody

You wouldn’t know it but people who try to cross you are shivering in their legs under his rather stealth intimidation

Will lie for you, steal for you and kill for you

Loves you that much he showers you with affection in a way you can never let go of him even if his moments of self-deprecation is disturbing
