hey! I was wondering between Magnus chase and trials of apollo if there was one you prefer/enjoyed more? I've read pjo and hoo and I want to start one of these but idk which one to pick up first!

They’re both absolutely great in my honest opinion! It’s hard to say if I have a favorite, because the two series are both very different in terms of their role in the ‘riordanverse’.

Trials of Apollo is a very creative continuation to the story laid out in PJO/HoO. It deals with the overarching conflicts/nemesis of the original two series, heavily incorporates old characters, but also has a few awesome new ones. If you enjoyed PJO/HoO and want to see what happens next in that ‘world’, I’d start with ToA first. But be warned, only the first two of five books are published.

Magnus Chase took me by surprise with how much I came to love it. I was apprehensive when the trilogy was announced, but I quickly fell in love with this almost entirely new cast of characters and mythology. It’s a trilogy, and the final book comes out in just a couple weeks. I really think you’ll love it, but you might as well wait for the whole trilogy to be published so you don’t have to deal with the year-long wait!

It’s with great honour and gratitude to reach one thousand followers for my main/booklr/aesthetic blog. I’ve had this blog for almost a year, having that I accidentally deleted my old blog of 4 years. In the beginning, I was devastated that all my old personal blog that I’ve spent practically my whole high school life, was deleted and never retrievable but I with that, I took a deep breath, let go of that past, and started anew with this blog. A blog that I shared a specific passion in books, mythology and  other aesthetics with. This blog changed everything. With it, I met a lot of new and amazing people with the same passion as me. I’ve found more books to read, shows to watch, inspirations for art and above all, friends to connect with. And with all that, I say thank you to the following whom I admire and give praise.

To Michelle aka @perxephne Without you, none of this would have happened. You’re the first book friend I’ve met before this blog! I credit you to helping me get into reading more, being with me through happy and hard times, and for becoming my first best internet buddy who I actually met! You’re such a kind, beautiful, sophisticated young soul. The kind you read in a Donna Tartt book. Thank you for sticking with me all this time and helping me blossom this blog to what it is.

To Diana aka @kazzriel I am so thankful that our paths crossed and I got to know you and connect with our love of A Court of Mist and Fury along with other books like AEITA and SOC. I first reached out to you cuz we had the same name lol and being fangirling best friends makes this blog worth while a lot of the time. I want to thank you once again and a million times more for the package of books you sent me! It’s just really cool to think we’re so far apart from each other yet we’re this close. Name/Nickname: I go by any variation of my real name, but most of my friends call me Kat :)

Favorite Colors: Dark green and purple

Last Song I Listened To: Something by Sylvan Esso; not sure which one it was because it was on a cd in my boyfriend's car. Probably the Hey Ma Ma one, because that's always getting stuck in my head 

Favorite TV Shows: Excluding anime? Once Upon a Time, Modern Family and Bob's Burgers. Those are pretty much what I consistently keep up with on Hulu. I used to be obsessed with Castle but the last season made me really mad and I don't watch it anymore. Once Upon a Time is starting to get that way too, sadly enough. Also Boy Meets World, because I will forever love that show. And Parks and Rec. 

First Fandom: Oh gosh, that has to be Pokemon back when I was in elementary school. I didn't really watch anime regularly until community college, and the anime that brought me into it was Fruits Basket- which I guess I consider to be my first fandom in my anime awakening. I'll never forget looking over my sister's shoulder, seeing Hatori change into a seahorse and think to myself, "what the heck is she watching?" And then she pulled me into it and I became obsessed.  

Hobbies: I am an avid reader and am obsessed with the website goodreads (if any of you have goodreads and want to be friends on there, definitely hit me up and let's talk books!). Other than that, I like to draw and write. I also like to organize things, which seems really weird considering how disorganized my apartment is: it's organized chaos.

Books that I’m currently reading: Ahh, I just finished The Twelve Lives of Samuel Hawley, by Hannah Tinti. Such a good read! I really love when an author can get into the heads of their characters and give the reader a complex understanding of them. I am also reading The Dog Master, by W. Bruce Cameron, and have just started The Raven King, which is the final installment in Maggie Stiefvater's Raven Cycle series.

Worst Thing I’ve Eaten: I do not like alcohol, at all. If you say the fruity ones just taste like juice, you are lying and my pinched face after taking a sip will tell you so. I can't think of anything I've eaten that I've immediately spit out, but my great aunt (who honestly is not a very good cook to begin with) makes a type of dumpling called verenika every year for Christmas, and they are so disgusting! I try to be polite and eat one, but it takes me the whole dinner to nibble away at it. My grandma (who is an amazing cook) also makes verenika, but something about her dough makes it just a tad bit more bearable- still not very good though. My dad doesn't like it either so we commiserate together when we see it on the table

Favorite Places: I am a homebody, so my favorite place to be is at home, sitting in my spot on the futon curled up with a book while my boyfriend sits in his spot next to me playing call of duty. I also love being at Fanime every year. It's fun to run around and be hyper with my friends, whom I hardly ever get to see. :)

I watch the sun as he bites down on peaches. His hand reaches out, as if he were to offer me one, But instead he lifts his hand To swipe the nectar from his mouth. (I think he knows I am secretly in hiding). Regardless, (I am resolute) I’d have declined. They could never have been as ripe and good and Sweet as hoped. No fruit can be that divine. He smiles, as he spins sugar across his hands;   As if that could beckon me close. Instead, I sit and watch as he flushes clouds rose. (I am resolute. I remain a stone.) As my eyes graze against thin wafts of floss (I do not imagine the burn of sugar in my mouth;) As the sky lavenders into the evening, And the sun (that bright candle) flickers out. So, I do not think about the peaches. I do not think about their golden dew sticking to my lips; The next evening, Or in the days that come after. It rains here so often I am used to ash.

The Sun is Eating Peaches (and I Do Not Want Any).
