AITA for indirectly telling my boyfriend that he’s not really type by talking about my celebrity crushes a lot?

First of all, this wasn’t on purpose. I might’ve done it unconsciously but I would never do this with the intention of hurting my boyfriend.

My boyfriend and I (both 20m) have been together for 7 months now and I really love him. The thing is, he’s not really my type at all and I don’t feel any sexual attraction towards him. This doesn’t bother me at all and I love him far beyond what he looks like. I guess it’s more important to him than to me because he really wants intimacy due to the fact he’s hypersexual.

Now, I’m a little insane when it comes to dilf blorbos and I guess I have a certain type. I talk a lot about them and like to show photos of them. Average fan behavior, with a touch of BPD and MADD.

I let my boyfriend snoop around on my Pinterest because he was bored, and he went through my ‘father problems’ board only to find hundreds of Hamish Linklater and Rahul Kohli photos in it. An occasional Benicio Del Toro. That was the moment he sort of realized, I guess, that I seem to prefer more masculine and creative men. (He’s not really creative.)

I never paid attention to the fact that they’re apparently the opposite of my boyfriend, or rather just more masculine and way older. My boyfriend leans more feminine, which I’m really not into but I’m not about to tell him that and stop him from presenting the way he wants to.

I love him a lot, but I don’t feel attracted to him at all. Intimacy is super awkward because we both lean more submissive and I’ve never enjoyed it. We’ve talked about it and he’s aware of this. We’re trying to figure it out.

But I think this whole combination of things just sparked a lot of insecurity in him and he keeps asking me if he’s actually my type. He knows I like to read fanfic with dominant characters and that I tend to gravitate towards people/characters that tend to be more aggressive and dominant as well. I keep reassuring him that he’s my type, even if he’s not just to avoid a difficult conversation.

My question is, am I the asshole for doing this? Should I have not talked about this stuff in front of him when he’s clearly the opposite of my blorbos?

Fantastic question! Interestingly, in my mind, Lyra's Harvey is a mix of several face claims and I mostly see certain fan art when I think of him. I see him as quite classically handsome, tall (he's 6'4), broad shouldered and he takes good care of himself. His moustache is impeccable and he definitely wears Ray Bans; timeless and classic. Anyway, Pedro, who I love, sometimes comes to mind as a good Harvey, but I also like Rahul Kohli too, and there's this one Henry Cavill picture that is very Harvey... This question got me thinking about head canons... might jot some down.
