Hey, Sorry i was read your answer about not draw norway hair pin and i just want to informed that. His pin is not mean to show he religious because is actually Japanese man fashion (Look up Raku Ichijou or Yoshino Takigawa). True Norway pin is usually in "cross" form instead of "X" however sometimes hima draw the pin in "X" form. Not to mention he prob draw it like a cross to imitate Norway cross flag.

Thanks for all this information! I've noticed a lot of anime characters having those hair-clips/ties, but I never connected it to Norway's hair-clip. To me, the hair-clip Norway wears just reads as a christian cross. You might be correct that it's inspired by the flag and that is has another meaning, but in modern day it still will read as a religious symbol to others. I understand the purpose of it might not be to show off the christianity, but that does not translate very well into Norwegian culture as it is still a cross, and not many people here even use hair-clips as @jamtland mentions.
