I had to watch a 42 min video that explained the lore of “Fallout: New Vegas” to read (I have never watched/played Fallout before, except for the TV series) your Vulpes fic! and i have to say… it’s soooo good!!!! I have never heard about Vulpes before, he definitely has a hot voice… and face… and body… (what i’m trying to say thanks for introducing him to me) I’m so excited to keep reading it and seeing how their relationship goes from there! I loved the way you managed to portray Vulpes arrogance and Ena’s quick thinking skills, her shaving her head was so personal and emotional to me bcs (for me) hair is part of my personality, so her doing that was a very clear way of showing that now, she is forced to change who she is.

Also, that part where he looks at her hair and she’s self conscious about it, reminds me of that scene in STBOTDI where the reader is checking out Edward’s hair and he’s self conscious about it! Haha… but, yeah Vulpes was probably just seeing that she had a recent hair cut and thought “Huh… that’s abnormal…” (or not… i might be just dumb)

(Oh… and… I've said this in other Ask’s... but I feel obliged to repeat, English is not my native language, so… if some sentences seem strange and without punctuation it's because of that... the fact that I'm on mobile doesn't help either… I just don’t want you to think i’m a child that doesn’t know how to write)

i definitely radicalized at least three people to paul dano's riddler through STBOTDI so if i can do the same with this fic, that would just be really funny tbh. I love Vulpes (and I also love blowing him up in game but that's neither here nor there)

It's always a journey writing new characters- I'm always afraid that I end up writing the same characters over and over again. Especially with this fic being in a POV I don't write very often, I've been very nervous about how they're coming across. Thank you for letting me know that, if nothing else, I portrayed them how I'd hoped.

I actually went about six years without getting a hair cut (from my senior year of high school to last year). Even though I didn't go anywhere near shaved head, it was a big shift (even if I knew it was ultimately for the better). While Ena knows that shaving her head is necessary for her survival, it must feel much like the 'final nail in the coffin' for her.

Vulpes is suspicious of her from the get-go, so his thoughts when he was looking at her hair were definitely somewhere along the lines of "this hair has been cut recently, what does that mean?" It's all just evidence that he's gathering for her being not who she seems. (and the reason why he hasn't done anything about it will be revealed later in the fic. also he generally needs to not act for the fic to work idk)

Your English is really good! It gets the message across and I can understand it, which is what language is for. So I'd say you're doing a pretty good job! <3333

i've only glimpsed this phenomenon through the proverbial glass bottom boat but if "found family" is being restricted by nuclear family roles that is so sinister and people need to start getting aro about it real fast. get relationship anarchist about it, even. we've gotta reinforce the idea of chosen family over these prescriptive roles of parents siblings etc. especially in media and fandom. when you experience truly unrestricted chosen family dynamics in your personal life it frees your mind let me tell you

like i've seen people arguing lately that people overuse the idea of found family in fandom, putting characters forcibly into conflictless nuclear family roles that don't mesh with the source material at all—and while the latter part is true, and i agree, that's not really what found family/chosen family has really ever meant to me, at least not exclusively? everyone's definition of family is different obviously and i think that's where the rub is. all i'm saying is as a society and within fandom we could stand to get weirder with it!

You know how in the first Dead Boy Detectives episode, Edwin and Charles take a bunch of breaks to tell each other stuff that they already know?

Like, Edwin says out loud to Charles that they need to bounce before Death shows up, “or she will collect us, too.” As if this is a revelation to Charles, who has been cheerfully dodging Death for over thirty years.

Anyway. Rather than accepting that for the rushed exposition it obviously is, I like to imagine that the boys loudly stage this conversation every time they think Death is close enough to hear it. They’re trying to make her feel bad for them, so if they DO get caught one day they can tug on her heartstrings and bargain for release.

Death has heard this spiel at least a hundred times. She can recite it. “Do you ever think, what would happen if Death did catch us?” she mouths along with Charles, pretending not to know he’s just behind the couch. She thinks it’s adorable.

I know in my heart that Twi looks so standoffish and rough around the edges and like he’d beat you up but he’s absolutely the kinda guy who would stop you from accidentally trampling a pretty flower and he lights up whenever you bring up animals and will ramble on and on about them. Looks like he could kill you, but is an absolute sweetheart, and he’s so passionate about his animals

Wars seems like he’d be really strict or like he’s just a pretty idiot but no, ask him any question about history or fairies and you won’t be able to shut him up. He’ll pull out a journal and flip through it and hand it to whoever asked him the question while he rants so they have something to look at and follow while he goes off (not that his handwriting in that journal is legible or in any language familiar to any of the others but its the thought that counts). He knows so so much and loves to learn and teach others, it makes him feel useful and like he can actually make a difference in something that doesn’t require him actively shedding blood. He knows the most about the timelines but none of the others have asked him yet so he hasnt had the chance to yap

Time also looks incredibly strict but he’s got no thoughts in that head half the time. He’s also incredibly gentle and kind to animals like Twilight, but he’s also a little insane at heart and still a moody little shit, his lack of control over his facial expressions and misunderstanding of social cues just leads the others to think he’s all business and no fun

Sky looks like the most innocent sleepy little guy but he could kill a man with his bare hands. He’s killed a god, he’ll do it again. He wakes up every day and chooses peace and love because murder is wrong, but that burning rage boiling deep inside him never goes away. He chooses to be kind because that’s the person he wants to be, but he’s incredibly capable of just going off the rails at any point
