Mount Rainier National Park Archives Photo of the Paradise Ranger Station with the park’s first naturalist, Ranger Floyd Schmoe, in the 1920s.
The Paradise Ranger Station was constructed in 1921 and was the first government-built structure of its kind at Mount Rainier. Built by the National Park Service in the Rustic style, its steeply pitched roof was designed to withstand the excessive amounts of snowfall at Paradise. The front has a full width 1-story stone porch accessed by stone steps, which descend directly onto the sidewalk. The NPS Rustic style uses native materials like wood and stone to minimize contrast from the natural setting. Shrubs and trees were also planted around the ranger station to better help it blend with the environment and not detract from the visitors’ experience of nature. The Paradise Ranger Station is part of the Mount Rainier Historic Landmark District.

The first floor of the ranger station was originally used as an information and checking station, with living quarters in the second story. The information center has since moved to the Climbing Guide House behind the ranger station, but the Paradise Ranger Station still serves as office space for rangers today. Have you noticed this building when visiting Paradise?

In conversation during a dull moment at a certain ranger station in Jellystone Park
RANGER NIEDERMEYR, who himself has been so assigned: You notice all these reports in the news of late about young bears being spotted in suburban neighbourhoods of several cities, particularly in backyards and porches?
RANGER SMITH: You can't help but bring to mind, on seeing such, a certain Yogi Bear into the picture, he with the porkpie hat, collar and tie, raiding the picnic and camping areas from time to time--
[Cut to a scene where Yogi is plundering tourists' picnic baskets, as seems to be his habit, to the chagrin of said tourists from, shall we say, Minnesota, momentarily; cut back to the ranger station when--]
RANGER SMITH: And you wonder what drives such bears into suburbia to bgein with.
RANGER NIEDERMEYR: Usually, the cubs spotted will be about three years of age; their birth mothers usually let them go so she can prepare for mating season and its rigours.
RANGER SMITH: So that explains such phenomena, the need of the females to mate themselves....
RANGER NIEDERMEYR: Well, at least we can hope the cubs won't be taking after Yogi when all is said and done ...
[At any rate, Ranger Smith gets some coffee started and--well, I will leave the rest to you.]

i'm still surprised that one of the trainer classes in galar and paldea wasn't pokémon rangers, you'd think they'd be in high demand with how expansive the wild areas and paldea as a whole are. those regions would definitely benefit from having some rangers running around to help out people or pokémon in need.

still trying to piece together the late-roman empire jakesyb au and fl;asdfj it really is just putting my own personal hc for jacob's bisexuality on blast wherein, in this au, he is mostly interested in men (ie, his fellow soldiers/his boytoy staci) but then there's also something inexplicably alluring to him about syb's strong, lithe, barbarian warrior's body

Good day people.
So with Cosmic Fury approaching soon many individuals are anticipating what's happening next for power rangers as a whole. Kyuranger isn't getting full adapted and Lupinranger vs Patranger won't happen most likely for years.
I keep seeing people want ToQger to be adapted but the constant argument is "trains won't be marketable here" personally I disagree as in the past PR has taken seasons like In Space and RPM that steer away from the source material and made it successful.
So here is my idea of an adaption for ToQger.
Tumblr media
First things first it needs a name. With the idea I had I think Power Rangers: Dreamroad Nexus might fit( thought I'm up for criticism cause train terms are kinds hard to come across)
Anyways, in ToQher the theme of imagination is very evident and here I feel like we can take this to another level. They have to protect this mysterious dimension known as the rainbow line only seen by individuals with imagination. Mostly held by children and the antagonists are called the shadow line who want to spread darkness through the world by taking over the rainbow line.
So in my adaption, the rangers are a group of individuals who use the power of the "gridline" with their imagination. The gridline is this railroad like passage within the morphin grid that acts as these threads containing energy.
Not many know how long it extends but one of their main junctions goes around the ley lines which in real life is said to be a magical system on earth which connects to the universe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their base is this train station like dimension where they keep artifacts. These artifacts are dubbed "Nexus", the nexus are items that contain memory and dream like energy that associates with the world. It can vary from being a baseball representing someone wanting to go far in life or say a cat statue symbolizing the laziness of life.
Nexus items are found within the world or in the dreams of people(mainly children). The reason why they are so important is that like their name they act as a nexus to energy within the gridline, connecting the memories of the world like a thread. If they were to be lost then those drama and concepts keeping humanity hopeful would fade away.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the antagonists I think we can call their group Noirtropolis(noir and metropolis, metro being a subway system). The beings that exist within this group are called nachtmares, beings who have sprouted from darkness and act as nightmares in a sense. They seek out the nexus items and also resort to going into human dreams as they both can give energy and act as a gateway to the gridlines.
The rangers strive to contain a happy and beautiful world without any concerns for what truly lies within the dreadfulness of life whole nachtmares are usually apathetic and see things negatively.
I think we can see a contrast here as the rangers start to feel hopeless and lose their faith in the world as all the negatives are brought to light. The Toqger rangers lived in happiness even without their memories so the rangers here just want to life in blissful ignorance.
As for the villains well they are empty in a sense, what is a nightmare to do without having purpose. Perhaps collecting the nexus items or going to the gridline can provide them the energy they are missing to fully find their own goals in life. We could possibly see both the rangers and nachtmare struggling to retain what they have instead of moving on.
Cause at the end of the day we have to age and face what lies ahead in life. Nothing last forever and as children we dream so much for our ideas to come to fruition. But it won't end on a bad note, I think in the end like a dream we can find ways to adapt those lost ideas into something else. They will move on and do something together in the end for a new type of happiness.
Tumblr media
That's the reason why I think trains here could be a perfect message. Trains cannot stop in one destination and they have to keep going, the journey is worth it to see what lies at the end. We just have to face it together, this could be such a great message to children if you think about it.
I mean I got into my PR phase recently and I don't want to grow up yet, I'd like all the opportunities i can get to be a kid again.
So that's my ideas for the adaption, @mo-ok @skyland2703 @tranqvii-jae20 and @metalucie any thoughts on this idea? You think Hasbro would hire me😭

Mount Rainier National Park Archives Photo of the White River Ranger Station, circa 1931, with the porte-cochère extending out over the road.
White River Entrance is in the northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park and was built between 1929-1931 in anticipation of the opening of Sunrise Road in 1931. It replaced an earlier entrance station that had been built in 1915. The new White River Entrance was modeled after the Nisqually Entrance, the first entrance in the park located in the southwest corner. The White River Ranger Station, which served as a combined office and checking station, was constructed of whole logs with a cedar shingle roof in the NPS Rustic style of architecture. A large porte-cochère, a roof extending out over the roadway, was added to the design to help serve visitors during poor weather. A few years later, a very similar porte-cochère was added to the Nisqually Entrance checking station.

The White River porte-cochère was altered three times over the years, at one point extending over two lanes with a fee kiosk in the middle, before ultimately being downsized to its current smaller configuration that no longer allows vehicles. The current entrance kiosks were built in 2001 and the historic ranger station now serves as the White River Wilderness Information Center. White River Ranger Station is a contributing building to the Mount Rainier National Historic Landmark District.

Did you visit White River Ranger Station when it was still the checking station or have you stopped to get wilderness information there during the summer?

Randomly drew a Lord Zedd this weekend!
I think this is almost certainly the first time I've ever drawn him. Which is somewhat surprising considering how I was obsessively watching Power Rangers during my elementary school years, but I also didn't really draw many humanoid characters back then and only occasionally drew characters I didn't make up myself.
