Dabi is surprisingly a lightweight. You honestly would’ve never figured by looking at him, but as you think back on it, you’ve never really seen him drink a lot. Not when there were celebratory parties, or when things didn’t go right for him. It’s why you’re so shocked when you convince two shots into his system, why he suddenly looks so loose, why his grin splits so wide.

He’s a clinger, you’ve also learned as you’ve started observing the blue eyed man where he shoves his face into the crook of your neck. His body bends over almost uncomfortably to fit into the position, and you can’t help but flinch a little when his damp breath blows a quiet little raspberry on your flesh.

omg wait my favorite thought is of you not even necessarily being a heavyweight, you can just handle your liquor a little better than anyone expects. you love to knock back drink after drink, convince Dabi into some stupid competition that he falls for because he’s such a little nerd and secretly wants to impress you. he does it thinking you’ll be the drunk one first, the one hanging off of his arm and hopefully his dick by the end of the night.

it belatedly shocks him when it’s the exact opposite. when he’s slurring a little and smiling at you, when you watch him through low eyes with a wide grin, when he wraps himself around you like a python, when you shake his face gently as you squish his cheeks together in hand. he’s just so utterly obsessed with you in these moments, and maybe it’s the liquor in him, but he knows his lowered inhibitions are only bringing forth the feelings he’s always suppressed.

drunk sex with Dabi where he’s the one too loose limbed and limp and weak. he flops onto bed like some rag doll with his arms and legs spread wide, but he musters up enough strength to release the heavy weight of his cock from its confinements. doesn’t do much besides lift his head from the pillows with a point to his crotch and a lazy grin, an announcement of, go ahead and hop on already before he’s flopping back down again, ready to lay back and get fucked like how he knows he deserves.

more gortash thoughts. today i bring you the (physical) fight edition!

so, first and foremost, 90% of fights with gortash are already lost before they even start. this man rarely ever is in a situation where a trap or another mechanism of his wouldn’t immediately blow your brains out as soon as he sees you even think about laying a hand on him. the image of him sitting high and mighty on his throne while everyone daring to go against him falls to their knees without him needing to move a single muscle.

of course, sometimes there are fights that he instigates/prepares to have (arms dealer days especially early on must’ve been dangerous, crown of karsus heist, etc) even if i don’t think it’s his preferred method of solving things. but classic gortash “willing to make the hard choices” shebang you get the idea. he’ll do it without hesitation if he knows it’s the best option for the plan. anyways. mentioned this before, but prepares is the right word here because this man prepares like crazy for any fight (or really anything) if he gets the chance. learning about his enemies, the terrain, etc. 5 backup and/or contingency plans at the very least. building a gazillion little gadgets fitting for the situation. will show up in half a mech suit and whatever leather armor there is left is covered with pockets for his shit.

now, some thoughts on how he actually fights. we all know he should’ve had a gun, but. anyways. ranged fighter whose aim with the crossbow is scarily accurate—i believe his strategy in any fight is going for the weak points/vitals immediately, which makes this an absolutely awful combination to go against. uses his inventions to keep his opponents at a distance if he’s alone. if he’s not, which is most times, he’s directing the whole group anyway. treating most of them as disposable meat shields probably. should one get too close and/or against his expectations be completely immune to any of his bullshit, despite his age or the fact that he prefers range and schemes, he’s still no opponent to take lightly in hand to hand combat. it somewhat depends on the point in the timeline (i imagine in the days in which he mainly acted as an arms dealer he’d be a lot more muscular compared to now; more of a pudgy old man build) but he is still an inventor, a mechanic and a fucking blacksmith. his arms and especially hands are stupidly strong. he hammers and shapes steel. again, not his favored modus operandi, but will and can absolutely break your jaw in one clean and precise hit if he feels like he has to.

Very funny to me how the artist clearly references most of the scenes after ROTS but for Beru & Owen he decided to make them look like their ANH selves for no apparent reason. Did you not like Beru's Prequels haircut. Why. Also why are Owen and the Eopie (Akkani if you ask the OWK show but then again do you) in frame? Owen I get even if he isn't there in the movie but Akkani. Girly. Give them space.

Good comic overall because it's just a ROTS adaptation. It doesn't add too much but removes too much and it doesn't give the story anything it didn't have before except Quinlan Vos blowing up. Pretty meh as a comic, no real reason for its existence but then again Quinlan blowing up was pretty funny. 2.5/5. It's ROTS but underwhelming with some funny faces (and Quinlan blowing up).
