Negativity, a leech attached to the mind. Living under a roof of capitalism and war, where people care more about a football game than they do about the people around the world having their rights to be human stripped away, how people are being murdered over minuscule things. How we know that in the end we die with nothing but our memories.
We sit and think about if we’re pretty enough or thin enough. If we’re good enough for this person or good enough for this job. If our lipstick matches our skin tone. If we have a cool car. If we have the crazy exotic plant we’ve always wanted. The breed of dog you’ve always wanted. If we get the partner we want, if we don’t. If we have the house we want. If we get to live out the image of our future from our mind.
Playing out a million what ifs. What if I did this or that different.
Take a step back.
Breathe.
Realizing hopes and dreams aren’t reality. I’m not saying don’t have them, if it gives you motivation to keep going, by all means. But just don’t be disappointed if that’s not how life turns out. We don’t always get what we want. No matter how badly we want it. The world spins on the principle of inherent tragedy. Let go of expectations and you will be set free.
We try to distract with makeup and doo-dads. How we live under a government that does not want us to have a happy life. A world where people think stuff is worth more than life. Greed strikes us all. We try to change things for the better but we don’t have the strength under the rule. This is why the most knowledgeable people are sunken into depression. A blind eye we turn as to try and think positively. To try and live in such an unjust world it is hard to enjoy yourself when you know so many are suffering. How many have suffered. The evil things people do to one another. The fact that you can’t change things until you die. No matter how much you want to because you are just one person. One speck of dirt that lives for maybe 100 years, on this planets span of 4,543,000,000,000. To learn how to live is to seek gratitude. Be thankful of the things you are able to experience. The good and the bad. Every single experience has been a lesson. No matter how hard. You may not know what lesson it is trying to teach you but when you overcome it you will see. Love yourself, for you are just a monkey. You don’t live to succumb to these evils, you live to enjoy the benefits also. How many nights spent with friends or loved ones. Life is about the small things. The moments you have with strangers. The weird moment you had when you were having the shittiest day imaginable that helped you to laugh. Life is letting go. Don’t hold on to things that aren’t meant for you. Be grateful that you experienced these things at all
