Wisteria Beautiful and Scary

"Wisteria are as scary... As they are beautiful..."

Wisteria flowers are one of those flowers that I really adore next to hydrangeas and lilies of the valley. I have very romantic feelings about them. However, wisteria as a plant is kind of terrifying. Because they're so beautiful, people of course import them to grow in their own gardens, the problem is they grow so fast that they are an invasive species and will choke out other plants.

Sometimes literally, as they will twine around anything including other trees.

Complicating the matter is how the wisteria plant propagates, by exploding their seed pods all over the place. While it doesn't sound like a boom (go look it up on Youtube), it does sound like something is constantly breaking. But that exploding pod is the other reason why the plant is invasive when planted in places it doesn't belong.

As if that's not enough, the pods and seeds are the most poisonous parts of the plant, mind you the whole thing is toxic. So yea... it's a lovely plant, but mildly terrifying.
