"Heavy Harry looks like its about to go postal"

So goes one of the comments under this cartoon by John Draper for the SAR 520 Restoration SteamRanger group.

Going postal would not be too out of character for Heavy Harry, he is very easily angered; '01 for her part looks incredibly outraged, like actually personally offended.

For her part, R761 just looks confused as hell.

As a Victorian gunzel I had a good laugh, just cause seeing my bitter boy in a cartoon, even in a sardonic one is always a hoot. I appreciate the backhanded acknowledgement of both Harry and the Rs being representative of our state's flagship locos alongside '01. It hits just right.

I gotta say, this is one of the strangest comments I have ever seen:

Except that the SAR 520 class has a very strong resemblance to the Pennsylvania Railroad T-1 Class, reflecting SAR Commissioner's William Webb's and CME Fred Hugh Harrison's penchant for American locomotive design and...

Okay one small thing that I have to get off my chest about Nona the Ninth…

The fact that shit went down in Greytown of all places cracks me up. Greytown??? Really, Tasmyn? Hilarious shitpost of a detail to write.

For fans that don’t live in New Zealand, Greytown is real place a little over an hour north of the capital city, Wellington. There is absolutely nothing going on there. No industry. It used to be a thriving settlement in the 1800s, but was bypassed by the railway in the 1870s and never recovered from that. Now it’s just a very small rural town surrounding a few over-priced shops (antique store, candy shop, lingerie store for mums, a few shapeless expensive dress stores for mums, and a few ~curated home decor boutiques~ etc) clustered around Highway 2 that you have to drive through on your way up north. There’s a Sunday farmer’s market that’s cute, but nothing special. It gets made fun of a little bit in Wellington because it takes itself a little tooooooo seriously as “New Zealand’s Most Beautiful Small Town 2017” (it’s cute, I have to admit) and because it seems to be kept alive entirely by rich farmers’ wives.

I'm actually a night owl. Anyway-

Hello!! I'm Capy (she/her but others are cool too) and I like the silly little engine show! I turned 19 this year...my head hurts a lot these days, and I'm a full-time uni student, so Thomas has been a bit of a coping mechanism for me lately!

I've been a bit of a lurker for my first few years on Tumblr, so I really don't know the first thing about Tumblr etiquette besides reblog = good...but I got back into Thomas and have no one to talk to about it so here I am!

In terms of what I'll post it really depends on my social anxiety and my school work, but I have a couple of humanized TTTE engines under my belt? I'd also like to explore Furness! Edward and CR! Scottish twins! My favourites are Edward, Scottish twins, Emily, Ryan (they did him so dirty...), Skarloey and Sir Handel!

I also just really like the Skarloey railway in general! I wish they did more with them in the CGI era, Duncan's episodes were *chef's kiss*. I don't know much in terms of real-life engines or railways, but I'd love to learn more to incorporate them into some headcanons I have...

That's it for now I think! Sorry for the long post aha. This is a side blog so I have a main, but that's just where I keep my interests over time and I'm MUCH quieter there. This is sort of my first time being public on a platform like Tumblr? So sorry if I do something wrong!!
