Okay. I know ‘The Body’ is some absolutely quintessential timeless TV art/entertainment that’s still relevant and talked about to this day….

But you must watch a lot of crap to think that that was by far the best episode of any show that you have ever seen ever. ‘Cause there has definitely been some TV art/entertainment on par with ‘The Body’ if not better than it. Maybe not in your generation. But certainly of past generations like the 90’s and 00’s when people actually gave a shit about great writing, producing, directing and acting and it wasn’t just binge material that’s done and forgotten about as soon as the hype vanishes for it and contractual obligations are finished with it.

This day and age of streaming service owned shows and movies… I can see why ‘The Body’ seems to be such phenomenal quality art/entertainment for you. And it is… absolutely. But you obviously have nothing to compare it to in terms of its quality and that’s why it’s just completely blew your mind. If you had watched stuff that was actually to the level of its quality, you wouldn’t think that way. That’s sad.

anon, I am so sorry and I mean this in the best way, but I do think episode 5 is the absolute funniest place to have stopped following Twst because shit starts escalating SO fast after that. episode 6 literally starts with a secret government shadow agency breaking down our doors and kidnapping students. zero to a million instantly.

and like...that's not even the zaniest thing so far? Ortho's hacked into the collective human unconscious. there's time travel (sort of). "Crowley might be Malleus' long-lost father" is a serious theory. if you'd told me any of this back pre-episode 6, I would have asked for the link to this unbelievable but highly intriguing fanfic.

also, episode 7 gave us (and then immediately took away 😔) the best character in the whole story:

This... this is a whole different kind of psychic damage here. When nightmares got Marcille, we get to knew that her's biggest fear is outliving her friends. This isn't even canon probably, but look at this. This isn't a "I don't want my friends to die" kind of dream. This is a "I'm terrified of loosing my daughters, of something killing them, and being incapable of stopping it" kind of dream. It's so simple yet it explains perfectly the whole of chilchucks character. He loves, he cares, deeply. But he, or doesn't acknowledges, or doesn't know what to do with that knowledge.

Besides that. Someone had to wake him up after this. Imagine the devastation in this man after he wakes up. He just saw his three little babys murdered corpses (or maybe he saw them die, wich isn't better). He would possibly not talk about it, and that would worry the hell out of the party, because we'll, they see him all down and only one of them knows what he saw. Imagine being the one to pull him from that nightmare. Seeing this man, usually so composed, fuking staring with tears and terror in his eyes to the composes of what you can only assume are his daughters. It would be heartwrenching.
