I may have lost this painting when I quit my drawing programme, but I can offer a small writing snippet to accompany the WIP screenshot, so it's not all gone to waste:

“What are you painting?”

Tamara hadn’t heard Ockham come in, but the way the corners of her vision shift around her, harsh lines of light softening to a dreamy blur, she should’ve realised it much sooner.

“It’s the view from my bedroom balcony. In Varchas,” she says, choosing her words carefully in a tongue that still feels foreign and clunky.

Ockham squints, studying the painting with a furrowed brow, and the expression suddenly reminds her of her auntie. Tamara shakes her head, dismissing the illogical comparison. They clearly look nothing alike. They shouldn’t, at least.

Ockham’s hand traces along the line of a wall of mirrors, where it intersects with a planter containing long dead greenery, careful not to touch the still wet paint. She’s suddenly aware that the perspective on the planter is off, and makes a mental note to fix it as soon as she’s able.

“It is not a very nice view,” Ockham finally says.

Although it’s a somewhat rude thing to say, it’s not entirely wrong. There was nothing special or aesthetically pleasing about the view. She’d barely paid it any mind herself, in all of the years she’d lived and slept in that room. The part of her brain that had been slowly developing since she’d picked up this new hobby urged her to move some elements, give the piece stronger tones than the monotonous muddy yellow characteristic of Varchaasi evenings. But that would go against the aim of painting it in the first place.

“It is not a very nice view, no. But it’s the one I had, and if I don’t paint it how it was, I fear one day I won’t remember how it really looked like anymore.”

Ockham’s studying her now, and she wishes, not for the first time, that she had any insight into her flatmate and companion’s mind, whether it even worked the same way as a real person’s would. If Ockham would find her thought offensive.

“Ok.”

“Ok?” she repeats, confused.

“Ok,” Ockham nods, then moves away from the painting towards the door, “I go now to the market. Is there something not on the list that we need?”

She nods no, then catches herself and changes the motion.

“No, nothing.”

“Ok.”

Ockham is gone again. This time she hears the door click closed. With a sigh, she draws her brush across the canvas, determined to fix that planter before it cements itself as warped in her memories.

We need to talk more about how Day changed Mhok's life. How this prick (hurt) rich kid ended up being an actual sunshine, and opened up as gradually showed Mhok what love is. They were both very hurt people who were lost and facing a dead end in their lives and had no way to escape the madness of life but by being tough or just very isolated - until they found each other.

And in Mhok's case we can see how he can heal from a very painful loss of a loved one and grow from it; can in fact feel sorry for himself, but most importantly has to learn how to forgive himself and others; can have an outlook of a tough guy but show affection, take care of others, smile, love; can learn to be patient and to expect the best of others instead of always expecting the worse; can be a protector and use it as a very good trait of his instead of using it in violence; can vouch for someone with the grace and calmness that only love can give. And that's one of the main points i've been thinking about him. His love for and from Day has made him realise he should live the 'now' and get the best of it without big plans or excuses for later. He enjoys doing stuff with and for Day, so he gets to fulfil his bucket list, while always being next to him or in the background while Day fixes the loose ends in his life. And he does so while smiling, always rooting for him and calmly waiting. Because Day is more than worth to wait for, for sure.

And to see Mhok grow with and on love is overwhelmingly heart-warming. To clearly see him falling more and more in love episode after episode, until he cannot contain that inside of him…i have no more words that can describe this.

Rose by McLoud ( self described as a lithuanian rock band (although me and several others would place them somewhere closer to metal) ! Been picking at and discovering their discography lately. A lot of their songs are really energetic (a little less so with songs like "Aperol Spritz") and kinda very yell-ey at points (fun!). I've been listening to a couple songs from them on repeat "Rose" being among them!

Žvaigždės kartais krenta by FOJE [spotify / yt(live ver.)] ( found this while going through an unofficial archive channel for the band. I really like the lyrics (like a lot of their other songs) (although "Laužo šviesa" [yt] will still remain a classic from them at least to me) )

In the House - In a Heartbeat by John Murphy (from the "28 days later" soundtrack! I watched the movie sometime in winter and really enjoyed it! The soundtrack especially made an impression on me, I've kept returning to this song (instrumental?) (as well as "Frank's Death - Soldiers (Requiem in D Minor)") ever since )

Bøn fra helvete by Kaizers Orchestra ( The album ("Ompa til du dør") has been in my rotation for years now. Lately I've been trying to clear my palette (ig???) after listening to two of my playlists non-stop and listening to this album (among other things). Many good songs on this album but "Bøn fra helvete" is probably my favorite at the moment (though I still hold "Fra sjåfør til passasjer" dearly)

Geri vyrai by Vytautas Kernagis (a very silly song about a lithuanian tongue twister >:)c Also the one I'd recommend to give a listen to the most out of my selection!!! (it's very fun, I promise /gen !) I found it while I was walking and listening to Kernagis' discography on shuffle and got absolute whiplash not only due to going from one of his more melancholic sung poetry ones to not one of his silly songs, but a silly song with some english lyrics??? It's been stuck in my head like an earworm (send help (don't)/j)

Everything was going off without a hitch, and he was glad for it.

That being said, he didn't miss the way Emily fidgeted with her sleeve, and he knew she wasn't feeling quite as calm as he was. Setting down his cup, he asked her gently, "I...take it you don't feel the same?" Perhaps if they talked it out together, she'd feel a bit better?
