Today was a nice recovery/healing workout out on the steps. I did 10 sets up/down(59 steps per ascent) and every 2 sets at the bottom I did 25 push ups. My right knee felt a lot better today. Back in the gym, day 1
First workout in... a while, okay? Let's not focus on that. 8:30 on the treadmill, ranging from 3-5 mph, at #3 incline (whatever that means). Stretching in that weird way I do... I'll take a video sometime. I'm... No, I'm not even going to try explaining it. Biceps/triceps/abs sets: (#s are reps-weight) 1 Bicep curls 15-5 Tricep pull-downs 10-10 Decline abs 10 straight, 10 obliques 2 Bicep curls 10-8 Tricep pull-downs 12-10 Decline abs 10 straight, 10 obliques 3 Bicep curls 10-8 Tricep pull-downs 15-10 Decline abs 10 straight, 10 obliques Takeaway: I should have stuck with the 5 pound curls. While it wasn't really enough for my biceps, it was enough for my right wrist, which has some nerve damage issues. I had to put my wrist brace on when I got home because I could feel the strain. 15-MINUTE RECOVERY WORKOUT! You definitely can't train hard everyday, but you can do some type of training every day. I was definitely NOT feeling up to an an intense workout yesterday so I did this 15-minute recovery workout instead. It gave me a nice little metabolic boost, some core workout, and mobility. I'm using the premium sideboard from @ultraslide but modify with whatever equipment you have access to. The whole point of this routine is get plump pumping throughout your body and take your joints through a full range of motion. Today I feel great and I'm ready to really get after it. ----------------- 2 minutes sliding burpees 1 minute skater slides 2 minutes sliding burpees + mountain climbers 1 minute skater slides 2 minutes sliding lunges from deficit (1 minute/side) 1 minute skater slides 2 minutes sliding 1-leg burpees (1 minute/side) 1 minute skater slides 2 minutes pikes 1 minute skater slides ----------------- #TheDailyBJ #Recovery #RecoveryWorkout #MetabolicMobility #Mobility #FatManCardio #BJGaddour #UltraSlide

I get a kick out of all the “strength programs” floating around out there. They say how you’ll get stronger and put in MASS🙄. Nobody ever talks about #recovery or how important it is. Once you start having injury after injury you’ll realize how important it is. Yesterday was recovery day. I do this pretty much every day in some way. Much shorter for warm up and warm down on lifting days. This is just a snippet. My recovery workouts take an hour or two depending on the day and how I feel. It makes a HUGE difference. I can tell when I don’t do it how it affects me. My lower back and hams hurt all the time. My flexibility suffers terribly. I have constant shoulder pain. No pain no gain right bro!?!? NO! That mentality is an injury waiting to happen. Then you’re off for weeks, months or worse years. Make sure to make recovery a priority.
