It's been ??? years? germs? some few laps around the sun?? since the last time I shot a perfect thirty. (10 possible points per arrow, 3 arrows in an end.)

you can also quite clearly see the arrow hole on the 2/3 line (bottom right.. outermost ring is 1 point),

I had one miss the target entirely (this being what happens if you're tALKiNg and don't set your arrow on the bow properly),

but still. one time. one end, I got everything

right.

and that is the beginning of believing. believing in myself and my own --

--okay I am fooling no one. It is the beginning of believing I can go to NFAA and kick the entire ass of one specific woman with whom I have an almighty standing grudge.

My bows named David(Bowie) and the string is named stringy!

My arm guard is flame

My old range was the leaning tower of archery, my new range is hinge

My net is Nancy

And my targets are strawy and greeny!

The hardest thing to accept after getting into archery is that every movie where the archer character slings the bow across their back, with the string in the front (you know what I'm talking about I just don't know how to describe it) is an absolute lie. You try to do that with your bow and gravity fucking gravitys and the bow will fall and you'll stand there looking like this

Does Archery tumblr exist? I need help! I'm trying to find an affordable ~25lb ambidextrous recurve. Preferably US/North American stock.

I understand that full-wood bows are more expensive so I will compromise on material

MUST BE ambidextrous! I could not bring myself to compromise on this. I can and want to shoot with both hands as well as with thumb draw.

I had ordered a Kainokai which reviews had been pleasantly surprised by its quality and sited it as a good beginner bow, but my order was cancelled as "Undeliverable", which is why I'd like it to be as near to local as I can (all my local shops sell are R/L handed)

Pretty a bonus; I am neither a hunter nor in competition, this is simply a hobby, and I want to look good.

Although the broader goal is to get my arrow counts back up, I was so pleased with this 260 that I quit on it while I was hungry (so to speak, although.. I really am hungry) instead of kicking my own ass shooting more arrows. the second pic is to show you just how dang 🤏SMALL🤏 the 10 ring is, and it is 18 meters aka about 60 feet away.

Me as an archer

Bow when not strung and not in use: I treat it like glass, if I even touch it a bit wrong it will shatter

Bow when in use: nyoom

Arrows in quiver: I will treat like an ancient relic that could break any second

Arrow when knocked/flying: nyoom, effectively throw it at things
