The current champion is recyclepath, who is the founder of the recycultis team/cult. His position as the champion grants him financial support for him and his team's somewhat noble causes

The recycultists use the guise of helping the planet to secretly plan it's destruction as they see no point in saving it. So yeah they are the main baddies of the au with recyclepath having a very high position as the champion

Also, if we are basing this off a mari/sunny survive scenario, due to them being granted eternal life, either one of them becomes the future champion while also using the main pokemon from each of their friends in their loving memory.

Hey y'all, just got back from watching the rest of manlybadasshero's omori lets play and i thought i'd share some of my thoughts about the game! (NEEDLESS TO SAY, THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!)

So let's get one SUPER ULTRA MEGA BIG thing out of the way first, i would've 100% enjoyed my experience a lot more if i wasn't such a huge scatterbrain and spoiled the big twist at the end for myself. Though in my defense i kinda wasn't expecting the game to get so popular so quick when it first came out, i first heard of the game through manly and i thought it was just another obscure indie game like what he always plays. Aside from that though....I LOVED IT!!!!! It tugged at my heartstrings with it's accurate portrayal of mental illness and the heartwarming moments between sunny and his friends, it really reminded me of my own childhood in a lot of ways. I've found myself relating to all the characters in some sort of way, especially aubrey. Idk....just the way she lashed out on others throughout the game really spoke to me in a weird way......either that or it's just because i like rebellious characters in general (the fact that she has a pet bunny is a plus for me, i love bunnies!)

Ngl, i don't cry to video games often....i'm pretty sure the only games i've ever cried to are undertale and pokemon sword but even then, i was crying about pokemon sword because i was proud of myself for completing the game....and honestly, i'm glad omori is one of those games that make me emotional like that...even if i already knew sunny killed mari, even if i already knew basil killed himself in one of the endings. Though that could also be because my dog wouldn't shut the fuck up while i was watching the last few episodes and i was just stressed out about that

If i had to pick: i feel like i prefer headspace over real world, i was an undertale kid back in the day so i love me some quirky characters and fun worlds! Though tbh i feel like omocat WANTED her players to like headspace more since she explicitly said at one point that she specifically wanted to make omori a game so that people would be able to FEEL what sunny was feeling (that's the best way i can explain it i guess) that being said; i'd say my favorite characters are aubrey, spaceboy and recyclepath. I've already said what i've wanted to say about aubrey earlier but aside from that, i think she's really cool and VERY me-core! Same goes for spaceboy, i'm a huge sucker for bright colors and space-themed characters. Not to mention recyclepath is a really unique character, i've never seen a character based ENTIRELY on recycling before! Plus his coat and glasses remind me a LOT of oliver tree and i mean....hey, i like songs like alien boy and life goes on lmao

Ngl while i DID get the endings spoiled for me, there was still a lot of stuff that was a HUGE surprise for me! Like BRO I HAD NO IDEA KEL AND HERO HAD A BABY SISTER!!!! I mean....i DO vaguely remember someone mention sally in a youtube comment section but i had no idea what they were talking about and i was kinda just confused (iirc i may have even thought that kel and hero having a sister was just a weird dream i had) but i mean hey....as the youngest sister of 3 siblings who was born when my mom was in her 40's myself, i appreciate the representation! /hj

I actually first got into omori because a good friend of mine was into it, it started when he changed his pfp on discord to basil and we had a really short conversation about the game afterwards. A while later i saw an omori edit in my youtube rec and i thought "oh yay it's that game my friend likes! Let's watch it!" And the rest, as they say, is history! Dunno why the fuck it took me a whole ass year to finish the damn playthrough though

Speaking of which, i DEFINITELY wish that manly showed the hikkikomori route bosses in his playthrough. Seeing thoses cutscenes of the slime girls creating roboheart, mutantheart and perfectheart REALLY got me pumped to see the boss fights! Oh well....

All in all, omori is a SPECTACULAR game and i'm glad i decided to check it out! 9/10!

RECYCULTISTS' HQ (REAL NO DAYDREAM CLICKBAIT)

oh man. simple prompt that was "something with the recyclepath" got so much longer than i realized, oh man

basically, the recycultist sequence if it was real

slight omori spoilers ahead!

"What the fuck is that," Aubrey says, looking up at the massive pile of garbage containers in front of them.

"A massive pile of garbage containers," Kel replies. "Obviously."

She smacks him. "I know that, dumbass. But what's it doing here?"

"Why would I know?"

"Well if someone knows, please tell me so I don't have to hear Kel's stupid answers."

"Oh, c'mon!"

"Now, now," Hero jumps in. "Don't start, you two. I think I have an idea of what this place is - you know those Recycultist guys we came across? I think this is like, their headquarters or something."

"Huh," Kel looks at the containers. "These recycling symbols is their logo, right?"

"Yeah," Aubrey comes closer and pokes at a closed door with her bat. "I guess you can open them from both sides, 'cause if not this'd make a super weird headquarters."

Sunny looks at the entrance. It wouldn't hurt to go in and explore, right? A headquarters made of containers sounded interesting, even if the trash everywhere might make it smell bad.

Huh. There wasn't a trash smell, actually. Weird.

Kel waves his hand in front of Sunny's face. "Uh, Sunny? What's on your mind?"

He gestures to the pile in front of them, pinches his nose, and shrugs confusedly. It gets the message across, fortunately.

"He's right, there is no trash smell," Aubrey furrows her eyebrows and looks at the pile.

Sunny points at the open entrance, and widens his eyes in question.

"Uh, I don't know, Sunny," Hero starts.

"Well, it wouldn't hurt to look in, right?" Kel pipes up.

"I mean, considering it's a cult headquarters, it might hurt a little," Aubrey says, but by her tone she's leaning towards the "investigate" option. "Well, it sounds interesting enough that any injuries we acquire would be worth it. C'mon, Hero."

"Yeah, Hero, this is a fun adventure we're going on together!" Kel grins.

Sunny's eyes turn pleading, and Hero caves. "Alright, we'll go."

Together, they venture into the depths of the headquarters.

"In the biodegradable fork's name... Reduce, reuse, and recycle."

The recycultist launches themselves at the group, who dive out of the way.

"UH, WHY ARE THEY FIGHTING US?" Kel yells, ducking as they throw a soda can at him.

"MAYBE YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE SAID THEIR IDEALS WERE BULLSHIT!" Aubrey yells back, dodging a pack of dead batteries as she catches the cult member's attention.

"SHOULD WE RUN?" Hero suggests.

"NO, I WANNA BEAT THIS GUY'S ASS, ACTUALLY," Aubrey replies immediately, ducking behind the person and kicking them in the back.

"I AM IN SUPPORT!" Kel throws his basketball at the trashcan on their head, pushing them off-balance. A bunch of trash falls out of the bin they're holding.

Sunny, having picked up a knife on the way in ("As long as you remember to not seriously harm anyone," Hero had reminded him), smacked the side into the person's leg, turning the knife just so to cut a tiny bit into their skin.

They yelp and end up falling on the floor on their ass.

Aubrey raises her bat and uses a part not covered in nails to hit his stomach. Finally, they get up and scramble out of the place.

"Epic," Kel laughs. "We didn't even break a sweat."

"Are there more of them in there?" Hero wonders, looking towards the tunnel ahead of them.

"Probably," Aubrey shrugs. "We won't fight them if they don't fight us first," she glares at Kel, "which won't happen if we don't provoke them by calling their ideals bullshit."

"But you agree, right? They're bullshit."

"I think we're all of the impression that it's bullshit, but we can't tell them that," Hero says.

Sunny waves for attention, then points towards the tunnel, shrugs, and runs for it. Everyone yells his name, all with different emotions, and goes after him as he enters the next area.

They end up fighting six more of the so-called "recycultists", if you could call a fight lightly cutting and smacking people before they run away as soon as they realize hurling trash at them doesn't really work.

Finally, they arrive at what's probably the innermost room in the entire building. Two cultists stand at the sides of a strange man with sunglasses and a glove on his head.

"Hey," Kel mutters to them. "Isn't that the guy we saw who was preaching about recycling and stuff?"

"Yeah," Aubrey mutters back. "The weirdo. Is he their leader?"

"I guess so," Hero joins in.

Aubrey opens her mouth to say some more, but she's interrupted by the strange man (the leader?).

"It is I... The Recyclepath... The only one chosen to speak in the holy bin's name!"

"I had a dream last night. The spirit of the rubber glove told me that this world is no longer fit for us. We must build, as the holy bin in the sky commands us. To reach the trashless world, where humans and biodegradeable materials may coexist in harmony!"

His expression turns solemn. "You kids have reached a long way up this tower... but I'm afraid this is where your journey ends. After all, you are nothing but trash... Grubby, senseless plastic wielders!"

"Uh," Hero interrupts. "None of us are using plastic."

The recyclepath guy actually stops. "What?"

They all raise their weapons.

"Wooden bat, metal nails," Aubrey waves it. The two cult members take a subtle step back.

"Rubber basketball," Kel spins it on his finger.

"My fists," Hero shrugs.

Sunny silently raises the knife. The two cult members take a more obvious step back.

"I see," the recycultist says. "Are you here... perhaps... to join our cause, then?" He takes a step forward.

"Uh, not really," Kel cuts in. "We just thought this place looks cool, so we went in."

"Yeah, we didn't really, uh, expect... such extreme anti-trash ideals... in here..." Aubrey continues.

He can't see the guy's eyes, but he's sure that they narrow. "Are you the trash that opposes our cause, then?"

"No, no!" Hero makes his way to the front, and gives a friendly smile. "Well, we don't exactly agree with your methods, but we do see that you're mostly right in your cause."

"Mostly," the recycultist echoes, tone turning frosty.

Hero plows on, charm turned up to the max. "Well, I know that trash is really a bad thing, and how it's poisoning everything can be resolved. But condemning everyone who litters and putting yourself up above by rejecting the world you live in won't really help, now would it?"

The recyclepath scowls. "Who are you to criticize the message the holy bin has passed on to us?"

"Well, the holy bin did just say the world is no longer fit. Maybe instead of recreating it, they meant to ask you to help fix it instead? Not everyone knows about pollution, you could help teach them, and you could start cleanup programs, you know, encouragement instead of shunning?" Hero's voice gets softer but doesn't decrease in volume. He really is great at this speech stuff.

"Hmm." The man actually is contemplating his words. Hero has gotta be magic or something. "You make a point. I may have misinterpreted the words of the holy bin. How would one even rebuild into a trashless world, with so much trash! I see now, we must make the most of this world. Thank you, young man, for your words of wisdom. Now leave this place, so I can continue with my loyal followers to continue our attempts for a trashless world!"

"That was so weird," Kel says as he lies down in the grass.

2) why was black space symbolised by computer keys, computers dont rlly play into anything symbolically despite being a huge aspect of the story

3) if Omori can yeet away real mari...why is stranger still vibing? I'd say shes more a sign of guilt than basil?

4) everyone memes it to death but why was basil compared to a water melon? In sunnys memories they were tied to aubrey! Is it maybe the idea of him being sweet but having a lot of bad things inside (the pips)

Ok so:

1) There’s a lot of symbolism that can be taken from the recyclepath stuff, honestly. First, the recycultists’ theme and tagline plays in Blackspace 2 as (morse code lol). With how Sunny keeps remaking his dream world each time the Stranger ruins it with the truth, he’s effectively recycling his dreams endlessly.

Defeating the recyclepath at the end in a daydream can be interpreted in many ways, like Sunny subconsciously wanting to end the cycle of escapism he keeps himself in. The fact that all the recyclepath stuff happens in a daydream though leaves it open for Sunny to either fail (like when he knowingly lets Basil kill himself) or prevail (good ending).

2) I mostly see it as a pun, especially since its shown Sunny loves rly dumb puns (the names of many of the dreamworld inhabitants). Keyboard keys = actual keys = unlocking something etc etc.

3) Not really sure what you’re saying here. Yeet real Mari as in physically?? I think you mean something else?

Basil is one of those things Sunny loves and the fact that a Blackspace door key can be found in Watermelon!Basil’s remains is significant for obvious reasons.

5) Various interpretations here imo. First, Omori is told by both Daddy Longlegs and the coral branch tree that his imagination has limits (hence he needs to expand his mind). Second, Mari was always trying to help Sunny overcome his own limitations, physical and mental. Third, Mari is crushed under he massive brain if you keep talking to her. Given how Mari was a perfectionist that made Sunny practice violing until his fingers bled, it’s good symbolism of Mari being crushed by the weight of her own mind.

There’s more stuff to unpack for Expand Your Mind Mari but that would take more writing.
