On tiktok I had posted about my favorite Harry Styles Fanfics from Wattpad, and it got quite a bit of traction. This resulted in people asking for recommendations and which HS Wattpad stories I like... so here are some for you to check out if that is your kinda’ thing. :) <3

had the craziest nightmare today. hit every nightmare genre and added a new one just for me
#timothy's txts.#late getting off my break at work for my worst manager BUT at the worst place i worked#walked into my manager in a meeting with EVERY head person in our district and they all chided me for being late and told me to hurry and#then i couldn’t find my apron#and then the street turned into a riot with cars being targeted by rockets and pedestrians being. also hit by rockets ?#this lady and i were by each other and we were like well normally we wouldn’t steal these motorbikes (they were hot pink though and swag as#hell) and then we started trying to escape but my seat was too high so i couldn’t drive safely#eventually we made it to her house with a small group of my coworkers / friends#and then a coworker i really liked got targeted and killed bc of me and the killers were shouting my name and hunting me down#so i go inside this lady’s house and it’s huge and honestly really nice#and i’m like hey do you have a toolbox PLEASE i need an alan wrench to lower the seat so i can drive safely and get away#and she was like yeah second floor#i asked which room? give me a landmark of the room so i don’t search every one#and she said it’s directly on the landing you can’t miss it#i go upstairs (the people hunting me in a red minivan have pulled up to her house and are suspiciously pulling all around it and backing up#and looking in the windows and i don’t know if this lady would sell me out) and ITS A TOY HOUSE. ???!??? not a toolbox…#so i’m searching but the people come in so i’m running through rooms and being quiet and make my way down to the basement that connects to#the garage and look desperately for a fucking alan wrench and they’re getting closer and i go through a small closet and there’s a trap door#and i go in there where there’s another hidden door and i finally get to the garage#and i find a tool box and decide to write the lady a note thanking her and telling her why i left so quickly#but all the papers i find are filled with scary notes and i’m wondering why they make me so uneasy#until i realize they’re notes that were written to Me from. a guy who really fucked me up#and one of them says ‘trans hot’ and i literally go :( i don’t want to be trans hot…#<- specifically from him because of the issues.#and then i realize that he’s the one hunting me down to Get me (the red van was irl his family’s car lmao)#and i’m panicking in an increasing amount and i won’t be able to get to the motorbike and escape with my coworkers and friends#and then my sibling woke me up asking if i wanted a breakfast sandwich or pancakes. so. crazy dream to have at nine in the morning#ask to tag

who's virgo boy? i'm confused and new around here 😵😭
he's (barely even) half as hot as jungkook but twice the menace, and shares a near-identical birthchart with him. is responsible for like a solid 97% of the angst I write. you guys know him incredibly well through my work without even being aware of it haha

realising how much of my expansion beyond rock and metal into a wide range of genres is because:
Slipknot crossed over with the edgy/gothier end of 2000s hiphop
Disturbed are just like. The BIGGEST nerds for 80s British pop (they're not alone in that, it's a whole numetal Thing, but I think like a solid 10% of the 80s pop I listen to I first heard as a Disturbed cover)
Lady Gaga was the top 40 artist it was Okay For Edgy Alternative Teens To Like In 2007
Being an Alternative 2000s Teen was in many ways very musically stifling cause it was incumbent upon me to perform disdain for anything deemed too Pop.
I was somewhat rescued by my own gayness (when me and my gay goblin friends discovered CAMP!!!! and got semi-ironically big into Katy Perry and Rihanna and of course Gaga) but mostly I was so aggressively self-policing my music tastes and deciding what to listen to based more on my assessment of where it fitted socially than on whether I like. Liked it.
Catch 13 year old me studiously typing "punk" and "metal" into Limewire and listening to whatever came up. Catch 15 year old me assessing whether the fact that Rihanna is making music videos about murder in black lipstick means it's ok to like top 40 pop. Complicated by the fact that honestly half the biggest Alternative Teen bait acts of the 2000s were pop as hell, and that as above, numetal acts were nerdy musicians with a broad range of tastes outside metal, and it was very complicated for me. It probably took me until I was like 20 to really start to get a handle on what I personally liked musically, rather than what fit my persona (vividly remember being in a goth club when I was like 18 where they closed out the night with Leonard Cohen's Closing Time every time, and thinking like oh man am I allowed to like Leonard Cohen then? having been listening to Leonard Cohen since I was a literal infant.)
Once I let go of the sense of having to like the Right Music, I very rapidly developed very eclectic tastes and music became a really big part of my life. although my friend did recently still describe my music taste as "two genres - heavy and gay" so that 2000s alt teen is still in there big time.
I think it's a normal thing about being a kid. You're developing music taste basically from scratch and there's a world of music out there so it helps to start out with a narrow focus and build a solid few acts, albums or genres you really like and work out from there. But I do regret how much good music I missed out on first time around because even though I liked it I wrote it off for being rap or being too pop or too upbeat. But the good thing about music is that it doesn't go away! I'm still discovering a lot of music that I heard 50000 times when it was on the radio but never really listened to at the time. It's fun!
#red said#also i do think the fact that my family didn't really listen to music radio did change the ways i developed taste#it was talk radio or music my parents or us kids already owned so there wasn't like. a time i was listening to new music where#i wasn't also performing Teen Coolness for other kids. i mostly heard new music in the art room at school or in cafes or on coaches#whereas i know a lot of people who built their foundational music tastes really on from what was on the radio when they were kids#lot of people i know reminisce about hearing certain songs in the car to school etc and for me that's not music that's BBC Radio 4#idk i think it's really interesting that like. early developmental stage of music tastes#cause it's different for everyone. for most it's a patchwork of your family's music what your friends listen to and what's on the radio#as well as stuff you stumble on or seek out of of interest#and the balance is different for everyone. i think it says a lot about your experience of childhood#and i also think like for myself I'm often quite judgemental of child!me's basic and limited tastes#because i was pretty judgemental of myself at the time for not knowing Enough Music#and as an adult I'm like nah that's a pretty vital part of development. like you don't get mad at a baby for not knowing what words mean.#you have to start somewhere! when you're 14 you've only had 14 years to listen to music and for most of that time you weren't choosing it#and you probably haven't been going out to gigs or record stores off your own back. you're going with friends or family's recommendations#so like as a teen i knew my parent's music. i knew my brother's music. i read Kerrang! and listened to stuff my friends suggested#but it took time to build up that solid foundation to go 'what i like is a hefty beat/ bass and a lot of energy. i will find more of that.'

worn the fuck out why did my grandparents have so many children and then why did all their children have so many children
#played THREE rounds of foosball (first to nine points each) with the eight year old and then he wanted to play animals upon animals which is#a very delightful animal stacking die rolling game and i could've played a lot more of that only then the ten year old came along and wante#to start a game of monopoly and i did some theatrics about how LONG and BORING monopoly was and i'd rather play the spinning fish game with#the four year old but then they wheedled me a bit and i said fine but i would be setting a timer for thirty minutes on my phone and then i#would be fishing but then it was thirty minutes and i said fine ten more minutes because i'd just bought boardwalk and was flush with hope#but then had some spectacularly bad rolls and had to start mortgaging everything and somewhere in all that i forgot to stick to the timer#and then i was mortgaged to the hilt and hungry (two aunts got stuck on the bridge coming and dinner was pushed back and back) until finall#i landed on a property with a hotel and then another with FOUR houses on it and that was it for my career as a landlord#after dinner i sat down at the keyboard and banged out some tunes with the four year old (her full force with her palms and me rattling up#and down the top octave with two pointer fingers which i think will be quite bruised tomorrow) and it turned into freeze when she abruptly#switches the keyboard off and runs a lap around the grand piano and continue banging when she gets back on the bench and then after that sh#started chasing me around the big living room sectional and there was a lot of slipping skidding around corners in my socks which was FUN A#HECK and then i let her roll me around on the nice thick rug and then she chased me some more around everyone eating cake (mango mousse and#a green tea three layer with red bean cream SO GOOD) and then my mom sighed a lot about how stinky i was in the car#there aren't even that many children!! two of them had just turned thirteen! teenagers!! but there was just so much children for so few#children (six of em) sheesh!! okay yeah definitely time to shower now sor#a happy thing#sor.txt

sometimes i feel like i missed out on a lot of "italian-ness" bc we stopped going there on a regular basis when i was 9 and i hardly ever saw that side of the family but then i come across a video on youtube titled "southern italians arguing" and it's just a civil (but lively) discussion about a card game the men were in the middle of playing and i'm getting flashes of what it sounds like when my sicilian dad gets real angry and it reminds me of that one time last year when i was working as an intern at a theater (in austria) and one of my tasks was to feed the actors their lines during rehearsals and one time the lead actor came up to me saying "i'm sorry that i'm always so snappy and impatient when i ask for my lines" and i went "this is nothing?? no offense taken"
or this other time, i can't remember if it was at that theater as well or if it was a different context (still in austria) but one time someone got a little loud with me (bc they were irritable and it didn't have anything to do with me or anything that i'd done) and afterwards those who were witnessing the situation were telling me "you do know you don't have to let yourself be treated like that and that you can tell them off, right?" and i was just there like ".......wait i was getting yelled at just now????"
i'm so used to my sicilian dad (and my half-sicilian brother) getting loud at any random minor inconvenience that it for real didn't even register that this person was "yelling" at me for austrian standards, ESPECIALLY since i knew i hadn't done anything wrong and it was all them and their bad mood at the time. and while i did realize that this person wasn't having the best of times in that moment, the fact that they were getting loud at me just simply didn't register. my brain honest to god just went "ah yes this is a completely Normal volume for this level of bad mood, cool cool" and i just kept chilling while everyone around me went "the audacity?? how could they be so rude to you?? are you okay??"
#it was so funny bc everyone was so concerned for me‚ meanwhile the situation hadn't fazed me whatsoever#these are the moments when i realize that i am in fact less austrian than i always think i am#no really you should have seen my dad get into a rage on monday when pedestrians were crossing the street in front of our car#on a pedestrian crossing mind you#basically the situation was that we were on our way to a dinner reservation and it was rush hour#and we were at this Known busy intersection that has a pedestrian crossing for people coming up from the river going into town#that pedestrian crossing doesn't have a stoplight but there is a stoplight for the cars a couple of meters AFTER the pedestrian crossing#bc the street merges into another street and so that stop light is there to let the cars from the other street pass before you get on it#and that car stoplight was red and my dad stopped the car right before the pedestrian crossing so the people waiting there could pass#except they didn't. they just kept standing there while my dad and the car next to us had stopped leaving the pedestrian crossing empty#and only when the stoplight for the cars turned green and my dad went to go on driving did these people decide to cross the street#and my dad got SO angry‚ he was yelling at the pedestrians from the car complete with big italian gesturing#he was all 'i've been standing here leaving room for them the entire time it was red for us cars but the moment it turns green they walk!!'#my mom laughed and made a comment how the pedestrians could tell they were getting yelled at even through the windshield#which had my dad come to his senses and realize how silly he was being#within seconds he went from raging to cracking up about the absurdity of the situation#of him yelling angrily at pedestrians crossing the street on a pedestrian crossing as is their right#so yeah half the time i don't even realize when austrians are getting loud and ''yelling'' at me lol#airenyah plappert#hate to say it but sometimes the stereotypes ARE true lol
