One minute you're happy, the next you might feel sad or angry for no apparent reason. This happens because you're letting go of stored-up emotions. The best way to handle it? Let yourself feel these emotions without judgment. Cry if you need to, laugh aloud, and know that it's all part of the process.Physical SymptomsYou might experience physical symptoms like headaches, fatigue, or even flu-like symptoms. This is your body's way of reacting to the shift in power. Get plenty of rest, drink lots of water, and eat nourishing foods. Gentle activities like yoga or walking can also help.Vivid DreamsYour dreams might become more intense. This is because your subconscious is working through a lot of stuff while you sleep. Keep a journal by your bed to jot down any dreams or insights you have. It can be really enlightening to see what your mind is processing.Feeling OverwhelmedA spiritual detox can bring up a lot of old memories and feelings. You might feel overwhelmed. When this happens, take a step back and breathe. Meditation and mindfulness practices can help you stay grounded. Remember, it’s okay to take things slow.Heightened SensitivityYou might find yourself more sensitive to your surroundings, people, and even food. Pay attention to what feels good and what doesn’t. Try to surround yourself with positive people and environments. Avoid negativity as much as possible.Sense of LonelinessSometimes, a spiritual detox can make you feel isolated. This is because you’re shedding old layers and parts of your identity. It's important to stay connected with supportive friends or join a community where you can share your experiences. How to Handle Spiritual Detox Symptoms1. Self-Care is Key: Take care of yourself during this time. Self-care practices like taking a warm bath, reading a book, or spending time in nature can be really soothing. Do whatever makes you feel nurtured and relaxed.2. Stay Hydrated and Eat Well: Your body is processing a lot, so make sure to stay hydrated and eat healthy foods. Avoid processed foods and try to eat more fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. This will help support your physical body through the detox.3. Practice Mindfulness: Practices like meditation, yoga, or simply taking deep breaths can help you stay grounded. These practices allow you to observe your thoughts and feelings without getting overwhelmed by them.4. Reach Out for Support: Reach out to friends, family, or a spiritual mentor for support. Sometimes just talking about what you’re going through can make a difference. You don’t have to go through this alone.5. Keep a Journal: Write your thoughts, feelings, and experiences can be very therapeutic. It helps you process what’s going on and can provide insight into your journey. Plus, it’s interesting to look back and see how far you’ve come.6. Be Patient with Yourself: Remember, a spiritual detox is a journey, not a race. Be patient with yourself and allow things to unfold naturally. Trust that you’re doing important work for your mind, body, and soul.Renewed Sense of Purpose and ConnectionFinding New PurposeA consistent spiritual detox can help you find or rediscover your life’s purpose. By removing emotional clutter, you create space for self-reflection and insight. This clarity often brings a renewed sense of direction and focus.Strengthened RelationshipsCleansing yourself spiritually also benefits your relationships. Letting go of negative thoughts and emotions allows you to be more present with others. Improved emotional balance leads to better communication and deeper connections.Spiritual FulfillmentCleansing the mind of unwanted toxins enhances health and nourishes your spirit. Practices like prayer and positive affirmations rejuvenate the mind, offering deeper spiritual fulfillment. This connection helps you navigate life with confidence and peace.Overcoming AddictionsSpiritual detox can help break free from addictions, whether related to substances or behaviors. By addressing root emotional issues, you can cultivate healthier habits.Daily RejuvenationSmall, daily practices like digital detoxing and positive affirmations keep your sense of purpose strong. Journal Prompt
Reflect on your own writing style. How do you plan out your writing? Do you plan at all, or do you just jump into the introduction paragraph? Do you feel like you work effectively? If so, what other strategies could add to your process? If not, how might you improve your pre-writing skills?

Whether it's journalling, taking time out in the evening to go on walks, or setting aside 10 minutes to reflect on your day every night before bed, do it consistently without fail. 66 days (or less if you're super committed) are all it takes for you to turn these tasks into a habit!

Alhamdulillah sore ini dapat pengalaman baru, diajakin Uswah ke perpustakaan ‘Limbah Pustaka’ bu Roro. Padahal udah lama sih perpusnya, tapi akunya aja yang kurang maen haha. Jam setengah 5 Uswah ngechat aku, udah sore banget sih emang, dan kebetulan aku mau keluar beli sesuatu, yaudah oke in aja, bismillah.
Denger cerita pas udah sukses mah enak ya. Coba pas lagi ngerintis, mana mungkin dilirik banyak orang kaya sekarang.
Beliau cerita bagaimana caranya beliau biar tetep eksis. Pokoknya teh jalan dulu aja, niat ikhlas mendirikan perpustakaan untuk menambah wawasan orang-orang di sekitar. Eh dirangkum aja kali ya per poin biar enak dibacanya.
Eksis
Jalankan dulu, modal seadanya tapi bikin program terarah dan jelas. Ngga mulukmuluk cari donatur buku dulu.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Masyaallah senenggg bangett liat buku buanyakk gitu.
Caww cuss sekaranggg.

2019, New Year, New you?
2019, New Year, New you?
2019, New year, New you?
It’s 2019, New year, New you? Does this sound familiar? Have you a number of things that you want to change in your life but can’t find the time. Have you been living, waiting for ‘that’ time in the future when everything is aligned and the timing is just right? I have and do you know what? That perfect time is just never coming. I’m speaking for myself here, I’m not…

Good night from child’s pose. After #day3 of the #flylikeayogichallenge my arms and shoulders are TIGHT. My muscles are SORE. I fell quite a bit tonight while working on my #fireflypose that I can’t actually do. Oh well 🤷‍♀️ I have to start somewhere. Tonight I began to journal again. Mainly small reflections on the day (things I was good at, things I’m grateful for, things I have learned, and finally things to improve on). I am slowly embracing the “yoga lifestyle” which is more of a whole lifestyle. Relaxation, meditation, reflection, and growth are some things I am working on this year. Child’s pose is good for all of those, which is why I ended tonight’s practice and day with it. #yogi #yoga #practiceyogachangeyourworld #reflectionjournaling (at Honolulu, Hawaii)

COM364: Reflection Journal
During Erika Schultz’s course on photojournalism in a diverse society, the lesson(s) that contributed the most to my learning focused on how to operate a DSLR, using manual settings. I went into this class having little experience with aperture, f-stop, iso, and etc. Moreover, I knew the meanings and purposes of these terms, but I never before put them to practical use. Essentially, prior to this photojournalism course, I was able to get away with relying heavily on my phone’s limited camera capabilities. So spending the extra time in-class, and out-of-class, to become comfortable with adjusting DSLR camera settings and understand the basics helped me tremendously.
More specifically, the extra out-of-class weekend practice sessions helped me become very comfortable with the camera very quickly. And the lesson that focused on dynamic light helped me gain a better understanding of the relationship between iso and aperture. Learning how to work with light is important, particularly in Seattle. This class took place during winter quarter, so it was usually either dark and rainy or overcast and cloudy. And while reporting, I had to constantly adjust my camera settings to accommodate for these uncontrollable factors. So learning the fundamentals early on in the course was quite beneficial.
My biggest challenge during this course was feeling comfortable approaching strangers to take their pictures. In fact, I am still not entirely comfortable with this aspect of photojournalism. But in the meantime, this course taught me that photographing in teams and groups and/or photographing event coverage are a great ways to help journalists/photographers/individuals that are not exactly social-butterflies, like myself, get the job done.
The most inspiring aspect of this course was going over classmates’ visual assignments in-class. Over these past 10 weeks, I valued being able to watch the capabilities and skills of my fellow peers grow. Also, it was interesting to look at the stylistic differences amongst my peers.
Overall, I am happy that I enrolled in this photojournalism course, because I am walking away with very valuable skills that will only help me grow as a journalist. Additionally, I am pleased that this course gave me the opportunity to work with Adobe Premiere Pro again. Also, when it comes to videography, I realized that I enjoy the process of both storyboarding/pre-production and editing/post-production a bit more than the filming/production stage. Ultimately, I am excited to continue using these photo/visual skills in future reporting, and further strengthen my work as a whole.
