As the world celebrates World Water day 2022 which has been tagged, "GroundWater", it is important to know that: 💦 Groundwater is invisible, but its impact is visible everywhere. 💦 Groundwater, even though it is out of sight, and under our feet, it is a hidden treasure that enriches lives. 💦 Almost all of the liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater. 💦 Groundwater is an essential part of the climate change adaptation and is often a solution for people without access to safe water. 💦 According to the United States National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, it was recommended that, an adequate daily fluid intake for men, women, children between 5-8 years, children between 9 to 12 years, children within and above 13 years is, 3.7 Litres, 2.7 Litres, 1 Liter, 1.5 Litres and 2 Litres a day respectively. . 💦 Groundwater may be out of sight, but it must not be out of mind. 💦 Groundwater is a vital key for Sustainable Development Goals. 💦 Drinking the recommended quantity of water reduces the risk of having dehydration, indigestion and kidney diseases. 💦 The importance of drinking water in the effective functioning of the body system cannot be overemphasized . . . . #CelebratingWorldWaterDay2022 #Groundwater #Climatechange #SustainableDevelopmentGoals #TheUniqueKemi  #CertifiedNutritionist #RegisteredDietitianNutritionist #RenalNutritionPractitioner #HealthyDietaryLifestyleAdvocate https://www.instagram.com/p/CbafzRzgmXD/?utm_medium=tumblr

🚨 SUNDAY FUNDAY NEW RECIPE ALERT: Halloumi Salad 🚨 ⠀ ⠀ Halloumi cheese is a trendy food in the US nowadays but having Arab riots we ate it a lot growing up. It is a delicious semi-soft cheese that is a tad wee bit salty and can be grilled and deep or pan fried for an awesome side, in a sandwich, or on a salad. ⠀ ⠀ For this lunch I have:⠀ ⠀ - 2 ounces Halloumi cheese pan seared (no oil needed)⠀ - 1.5 cup romaine lettuce, cut⠀ - 1/2 red bell pepper, diced⠀ - 1/2 small cucumber, diced⠀ - small amount of diced onion (1-2 tablespoons)⠀ - kalamata olives (to taste)⠀ - croutons⠀ - 1-2 tablespoons dressing of choice (I had this with 1000 island last time)⠀ ⠀ Enjoy! ⠀ ⠀ ❓What’s your fav cheese❓My fav cheese are the cheeses I grew up with Naboulsi And Halloumi. 💯⠀ ⠀ •⠀ •⠀ •⠀ #registereddietitiannutritionist #dietitiansofig #dietitiantobe #nutritionexpert #nutritioneducation #nutritiongoals #nutritioncoaching #virtualcoach #duathedietitian #arabamerican #muslimamerican #recipeblog #foodbeauty #nutritionblog #acceptingclients #healthislife #nutritioncoaches #professionalwoman #simplerecipe #simplerecipes #prettyfoods #newrecipesuccess #recipeblogger #nutritionblogger #foodlovesme #foodieladies #onlinecoaching💪 #halloumi #arabcheese

Repost from @empowering.dietitians • Click share on your favorite slide to spread the word! The other week, during one of my Empowering Dietitians Group Supervision Mastermind calls, I reminded the group that we are not to blame for our feelings of imposter phenomenon, perfectionism, or burnout. We were taught to be high achievers. Our perfectionism was reinforced -- by capitalism, by competitive dietetic internships, by standards of strangers critiquing what a model dietitian should look and act like. So we internalize it. Our type A perfectionism rises to the occasion and we say yes to everything. We pile our plates high with projects and client case loads and side hustles and endless responsibilities. Pause. Just because we internalized a message from our overworked, obsessed with the bottom line patriarchy and the equally demanding professional dietetics culture that resulted from it, does not mean we need to keep feeding into it. Pause. Step back. You can opt out of this black hole of achievement at any point. Need a little help? My Empowering Dietitians Supervision clients learn how to find a workload that feels right to them AND leads to fulfillment, so that you can do the work you love WITHOUT the burnout. REDUCE SUGAR INTAKE TO BOOSTS KIDS’ HEALTH Studies show reducing kids’ consumption of sugar could dramatically improve their health — and more quickly than you might think. Working with a group of obese children, researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, swapped out foods with added sugar and replaced them with other carbohydrates without changing the kids’ overall caloric intake. After only 10 days on the revamped diet, the study subjects saw significant improvements in LDL cholesterol, blood pressure, triglycerides, fasting blood sugar, and insulin levels, despite losing little or no weight. “This paper says we can a turn a child’s metabolic health around in 10 days without changing calories and without changing weight — just by taking the added sugar out of their diet.” #childhoodobesity #reducingsugar #improvedhealth #weightcontrol #nutritionalcounseling @pro_nutrition_health #registereddietitiannutritionist #research #healthandwellnessjourney #healthykidsfood #mealplanning #physicalhealth https://www.instagram.com/p/B6HxtO9ntp6/?igshid=11ycqg0ab3op8

Swipe right ➡️ for more on vitamin C and a few dietary sources. . Be sure to eat food from each of the groups daily rather than a large quantity of one or two groups. It’s about eating a variety to get a combination and not indulging in one food group just because it has a particular nutrient. Note: vitamin c enhances the absorption of iron from plant sources (aka non-haem iron which is not easily absorbed). Eg: squeezing some lime juice to mallums or salad, alternatively use citric fruits. Some vitamins and minerals (Vitamin A, C, E and Selenium) found in food act as antioxidants, f􏰀oods with antioxidant properties help in the ‘prevention’ of many diseases such as strokes, heart diseases, high blood pressure, cancer and diabetes. Checkout my highlight ‘insights’ for more. If you like the content, support & share! 🙏🏼:) Be sure to follow @healthywith_hana for content! 🔥 . . “Nutritional needs should be met primarily from foods… Foods in nutrient-dense forms contain essential vitamins and minerals and also dietary fiber and other naturally occurring substances that may have positive health effects.’’ 👉🏼 Vitamin supplements can’t replace a healthy diet. . . . . #heathylifestyle #lifestyle #covid19 #healthyeating #sleep #exercise #diet #lifestyle #healthylife #healthyliving #healthyfood #healthandwellness #srilankanfood #vitaminc #vitamincfoods #gotukola #murunga #registereddietitiannutritionist #nutritionist #srilanka #colombo #srilankalife #nutrition #nutritionfacts #nutritiontips #nutritionblogger #health #healthysrilanka

Whether you want to lose a few pounds or just maintain a healthy weight, eating proper portions is as important as eating the right foods. Portion and serving sizes are often used interchangeably, but actually, there is a difference. A portion is the total amount of food that you eat in one setting. A serving size is the recommended amount of one particular food. For example, the amount of chicken you eat for dinner is a portion but 3 ounces of chicken is a serving. Keeping serving sizes in check helps with portion control. What are the benefits of portion control? Better digestion Too large of portion sizes contribute to indigestion and discomfort. Your digestive system functions best when it is not overloaded with food. Managing portions will help to end cramping and bloating after eating. Balanced blood sugar Overeating can lead to a blood sugar imbalance by overloading your body with glucose; which can eventually lead to insulin resistance. Smaller meals will help keep your body functioning properly. Improved satiety When you eat too quickly, you don’t notice your stomach’s cues that it is full. Eat slowly and pay attention to hunger cues to improve feelings of satiety and ultimately, consume less food. Weight loss Eating smaller portions will help with weight loss. Choose balanced meals with proper serving sizes to help cut calories and shed unwanted pounds. How can we eat smaller portions? Eating proper portions and serving sizes can seem daunting, but there are some simple ways to make it easier. Read labels Reading labels on packaged foods allows you to see serving sizes. Measure food To identify accurate serving sizes, you need to measure them out. Measuring cups and spoons can help Meal prep Prepping meals in advance ensures you have healthy meals for the week. Store perfectly portioned meals in single serve containers for grab and go options. @nutritionist.avanti . . . . . . . #Avaantideshpaande #nutritionisteats #registerednutritionist #nutritionist #nutritionisthekey #sportsnutritionist #certifiednutritionist #registereddietitiannutritionist #nutritionistapproved #nutritionistintraining #nutritionists #sportnutritionist
