the thing that’s really pissing me off to no fucking end is some people’s insistence that “actions are more meaningful than words” and “you people just want things spoonfed you” is that the actions that are supposed to showcase a character’s growth and development are so small and barely perceptible unless you pause and zoom in on a hidden frame that’s 0.002 seconds long and turn your head at a 45 degree angle and squint.

i don’t think it’s great to make important plot details into throw away lines or put them in the background of a scene.

He’s happy to be called whatever you feel comfortable with. His favorite names are “Georgie, Da Da, Mr Wheezes”

He loves making breakfast for you every morning, regressed or not. He also finds a way to even take your medication fun! Such as “Every pill you take, you get a gummy bear-!”

He’s a strong man, who’s an older brother, meaning you can get picked up easy. Piggyback rides will be given.

You are going to have so many uncles and aunts.

He will set up a special mat for you in his office, so you can play while he works. That way you aren’t too far away from him, and he can keep a close eye on you. The shop can still be pretty dangerous after all

You will have the cutest pajamas. They will be so soft, and in the loudest colors. Feeties? Night gowns? Just a t-shirt and shorts? He will make sure they are snuggly and obnoxiously purple and orange. Hope you like those colors

Your sippy cup/bottle is never going to be empty. You don’t know how he does it, but you’ll never run out of food and drinks. The Molly in him refuses.

He just adores you so much. He’s more than happy to sit with you, and cuddle, if you need it. Whenever you want.

Expect lots of head kisses, and him brushing the hair out of your face. Just so much gentle touches of affection.

Hanako wandering into Tsuchigomori’s domain whenever he’s regressed and the poor teacher has no idea how to handle him. Amane regressed when he was alive and he didn’t know what to do with him then. And now as a ghost he’s even more concerned and even less knowing.

Because Hanako regressed is so different from the childish persona he has daily. Like one wrong move will shatter the boy who’s already been killed. Somedays it’s as simple as scooping the kid up and reading to him. Others it’s fighting not to get to close less the kid run, but too far away and he’ll cry from abandonment. Trying to deal with guilt and phantom pain that a ghost shouldn’t be feeling. Trying to ask if he wants to call his friends to have company and not sure how to explain even if they did come. Worried about his mental state one moment, chasing around a playful 6 year old the next who wants to play keep away with his smoking pipe.

And half the time Tsuchigomori is convinced that Hanako finds it all to be a game, how far he can push everyone’s buttons, how much chaos can he cause before someone snaps and his antics are deemed ‘too far’ because the few times he’s sure the ghost has been regressed and not simply teetering upon being little, he had crashed into headspace. Small and completely dependent no older than a couple months, and it’s always whiplash to the older supernatural to see the kid actually relax and be vulnerable around him or anyone else.
