Gambit x Emily OC

Gambit fanfiction

Emily is a mutant that works with shadows. She can also manipulate the light and use to throw blasts of light. She recently lost someone close to her, she found out by going through the mail one day and noticed a letter addressed to her from her sister.

Shaking slightly she took the letter to her room and closed the door. Breathing deeply Emily opened the letter. As she finished the letter tears started falling from her face and onto the letter. She’s slowly crumbles to the ground. Wrapping her arms around her legs, she wept for the rest of the night.

THE NEXT DAY

Emilys has been in her room for most of the day which unusual as she likes to visit and chat among everyone. People tried to knock on her door but she’d tell them to leave her be. There is someone who seems to get under her skin. Gambit and her always fight everyday. Maybe it was because she came in later to the X-men. She never knew why he had it out for her. She’s shown her trust to everyone.

Emily finally opened her bedroom door in the mansion around 10:30pm at night. She makes her way down the stairs wearing loose black pajama pants and a black shirt. Her eyes red from crying all day. And her stomach grumbling a little from not eating all day.

She makes it to the doorway of the kitchen and opens the fridge. The only light on is from the fridge lighting up her face. Smudges of eyeliner on her eyelids and her nose red from blowing it.

As she goes to reach for a bottle of beer she keeps, she jumped when she heard a throat clear. Looking up her eyes meet with dark and red. It was Gambit.

Gambit smirks and leans against the doorway,”now cher what yah doing this late? Hmmm tryin to steal some food?” Gambit laughs while crossing his arms.

Emily didn’t answer him just grabbing the beer shutting the fridge, and was making her way past him. Gambit felt like something was off and grabbed her arm.

“What’s the long face cher? Figured you’d have a comeback for me? Or is the fight gone from you?” Gambit chuckles lightly while still holding her arm. This was there thing he riles her up and she’s fights back. It was a great game, Gambit loved seeing her riled up.

Emily’s eye were cast down, black hair cascading over her face and her arms slack.

“…..m not in the mood thief….” Emily mumbles while shaking Gambit away. She makes her way up the stairs and turns to go to her room.

Gambit shocked at her tone and the way she said it just looks on. “Something the matter….I don’t like seeing the Emily so downcast. Not her style” Gambit mumbles to himself. Gambit decided to go up and follow her to her bedroom door.

Knocking softly Gambit waited for a response. When he didn’t get one he tried to open the door but it was locked.

“Hmmm well now Gambit knows how to fix this”, He says while using a bit of his power to burn the keyhole. The door opened slightly, he slowly opens the door, and he sees Emily Curled in a fetal position on her bed. Sobbing beer forgotten on the floor. Gambit walks over to Emily, touching her should Emily jumps slightly, with teary eyes looks over and to her surprise it’s Gambit.

“Tell Gambit what’s wrong Em…”Gambit softly says while sitting on the bed next her. Emily’s lips wobble, tears start falling again and she lunges herself at Gambit. He catches her and holds her while smoothing back her hair and rocking her. Her sobs fill the room. After what seemed to be ten minutes Gambit noticed she’s starts calming down.

Emily sniffles and puts her head into Gambits chest,”….I received some news…..and I lost someone…..my…..my father Gambit” Emily’s lips wobble again but no sobs come.

“Oh cher….I’m sorry that’s happened to you,” Gambit says while tilting her head to look at him.

“I know you have heard it, and I’m not gunna say it becaus you will always kiss him, but we are here for you Cher……I’m here for you…. Gambit knows what’s it’s like to lose someone close,” Gambit smiles softly at Emily. Still smoothing her hair back. Emily gives him a hug smiling.

“Thanks gambit, I know you didn’t have to come here but you did….I really do appreciate this” Emily looks back him. Her eyes looking at with adoration and appreciation.

Gambit feels a blush coming to his checks. Smiling to her and her to him. It seemed like they were getting closer and closer until Emily felt Gambits lips on hers. Eyes closing Emily felt the kiss, the ways his lips molded to hers. Going to reach up to cup his cheeks, Gambit pulled away.

Breathing deeply, Gambit looks at Emily. “Get some sleep em….we got training in the morning” Gambit smiles as he stands he tilts down and very softly kisses the top of her head.

Emily smiles while she sees him close her door. Falling back in bed, maybe there was something to like about Gambit after all.
