It’s been a loooooooong couple of weeks, and that's almost an understatement. You thought joining in on Doc and Ren’s shenanigans this season would be entertaining, but didn't account for Doc’s affinity for shooting for the moon (heh). Seeing his projects in seasons past you should’ve guessed it would be equally as crazy, but something in you rationed that maybe he would take it easy. Big mistake. Considering it started with somehow creating a super-chunk of a horrifying amount of spawners. You have been endlessly grinding copper and logs to fuel the shops, hearing shulkers grumble in your sleep, and building up the centre of your new base of operations. The Octagon. It was honestly huge, with complex corners and shape lending to the mechanical aesthetic you’ve leant into this season. It wasn't one you typically built in, unlike the mad scientist, and you’d be lying if you said you didn't miss the ease of terraforming. Soft dirt and plants under palm instead of gritty redstone that has long since dyed your nails. But being part of this team was rewarding in its own right.

You settle into the wooden seat sat on the floor, grunting as your knees crack with effort, and your ribs protest. How long has it been since you’ve taken off your binder?- ah no matter. A sigh pulls from your lips at the chance to relax, a crackling campfire soothing your nerves. The seat isn't necessarily the most comfortable, but after a long day's work you were looking forward to the staple of your meetings. A barbeque. Stretching your shoulders against the tight fabric under your shirt, you look to your teammates as they arrive, chattering animatedly. Ren’s voice carries first, agreeing enthusiastically to something Doc was explaining. Ever the enabler, or hype man as he would prefer. An arm is strung across the goat-hybrid's shoulders, half tugging him into a hug. Doc responds, waving his prosthetic hand to help visualize the words- a habit of his you noticed finally being close to him this season.

“Then if we attach the redstone to the power core as shown in the blueprints-” Upon coming to the crest of the hill, Ren’s gaze catches your own, and his grin widens.

“Hey dude!” The werewolf waves exaggeratedly with his free arm, completely interrupting Doc mid-sentence. He sputters out something about manners, but rolls his eyes and nods in greeting. A rush of warmth splits your own face into a grin. It was nice to have them as friends.

“Took you long enough. I was about to dig in without you.” You tease, earning a playful swat from Doc as he moves to settle in the seat beside you, Ren already taking his place as ‘the meat master’ as he would insist the title be. Laying perfectly seasoned steaks on the grill over the fire.

“You say that as if you weren't late to our last meeting.” Doc grumbles, unable to hide his smug smirk at being able to hold it over your head. Groaning dramatically you flop further into your chair.

“It was one time! You try being on time when Scar has filled your starter base with pandas-” Ren snorts, and you shoot him a glare. Doc hums in debate, he of all people understands Scar’s menace. Doesn’t mean he won't find it funny. “We still have to enact revenge for that.” You remind the pair, causing Ren to perk. A dangerous glint in his eye.

“We should infest Boatem with those bot guys Doc designed.” He suggests, “Cover their landscape with mite-bots!” Arms swooping in a wide arc, you can picture it vividly; The tailored landscape of the builders covered in clicking, scurrying bots. Like chickens but harder to kill. Not a bad idea at all. Your so caught up in the visual it takes a second for it to click what exactly Ren has just called the bots-

“Mite-bots?”

“MITE-BOTS?!” Doc’s cry overlaps your own, so suddenly all you can do is blink. “They aren’t mites! I’ll have you know I modeled them after viruses- which happen to look very cool.” The goat’s instant defense of the odd robots makes you stifle a chuckle, especially when Ren simply flicks his tail sassily. Void, they were so childish sometimes. For as much as Doc tries to seem mature and scary, it wasn't hard to wind him up.

“Mites-viruses same thing my dude. ” The werewolf shrugs, flipping a steak casually with his bare hands. It sizzles loudly and your stomach clenches with hunger, gurgling in protest. The scent of cooking meat making your mouth water. Doc grumbles unintelligibly under his breath- but you get the gist of his complaints for ‘respect’. A common thing he insists upon, despite secretly enjoying the banter. Glancing back to Ren, his gaze is already on you, smiling slightly in knowing. “Hungry?” He asks gently, eyes twinkling with affection despite the bags. He was so chipper it was hard to tell he was as tired as you are. You’d guess having his body be mostly robotic this season meant he likely felt the effects less, but there was still evidence of wear-and-tear. His metal body was scuffed and dirty, not being polished like it should be, pale skin also covered in a thin layer of grime. The evidence of hard work across the three of you is a testament to how hard you were working to complete the project before the end of the season. It was a grind, all hands on deck as you all knew it would be a shorter one.

Blinking back to reality, you realize you’ve simply been staring back at him, neglecting to actually answer the question. You stumble to answer quickly-

“Ah- yea, it smells good.” You manage out, smiling sheepishly back to his patient look. For a brief moment Ren accepts your answer, and you all lapse into peaceful silence. The crackling of fire and sizzling meat overlaid the chirping of crickets and waves lapping on the shore as the sun descended over the horizon. You truly think you can be happy here- friends, good food, enjoyable projects- and then Ren clears his throat.

“I don't mean to nag at all my dude, but I’ve gotta ask…How long have you been wearing your binder?” You inhale sharply, suddenly aware again of your aching ribs and strained breathing. Ah, shit. Of course he would notice-

“Mm Ren’s right, I haven’t noticed you without it- or taking enough breaks for me to assume you’ve removed it.” Doc agrees, sitting up a little further to watch you carefully. The pressure from both of their gazes is almost a physical weight on your skin, prickling an embarrassed heat on your face. Deep down you knew they only cared about your well-being, but the thought of being without it- “Breathe. We wont force you to change if you truly don't want to, but it isn't safe to wear it for so long.” Doc’s reassuring rumble soothes your nerves a tad, as a clawed hand rests gently on your shoulder. Lingering just-barely there as to not spook you, but there enough to ground back to your body. Realistically you know you should change, but the thought of having to exist looking so unlike your true self-

“Here.” You tune back into the present, face-to-face with a plaid ball of fabric. There's a moment of silence as your brain lags behind- then it dawns on you what it is.

“Your shirt??” You glance mildly horrified at Ren- and see much to your relief he is still currently wearing clothing. He chuckles, waggling the shirt ball enticingly.

“You wish I was showing off my abs, baby” He teases, not taking to heart the disgust you can't stop from flashing across your face. Doc huffs a laugh at your reaction, squeezing your shoulder reassuringly. “But I don’t want to attempt to out-man the ultimate man, my dude.”

It's clear he's trying to flatter you, but you let yourself take the compliment. After all, it was clear he simply cared deeply. Finally reaching out, you grab the flannel being dangled in your face. It's impossibly soft and plush, clearly well loved. The deep red fading away slightly with how many washes it's been through. Ren smiles at that, placing both hands on his hips. “It’s even oversized on me, so I figured it would be comfortable for you to lounge in- if you want.” The offer makes your heart clench- they notice, and more importantly they care enough to try and find a solution where you can all be happy. This server is going to be the death of you- and you already feel a little choked up with emotion. After a moment of debate you nod, and Doc gently removes his hand. You miss the warmth of it, but he smiles reassuringly.

“You can change in the van, we’ll save you a steak.” He jokes lightly, and you scoff.

“You better!” Pointing a finger accusatorily at him, you rise from your seat. “This better not be a ploy to eat my share of the food.” Doc chuckles deeply, choosing to not answer as Ren pretends to look guilty. Feigning annoyance at their lack of an answer, you stalk to the van, nerves building with every step took away from them.

Stepping into the rocket-van the door clicks shut behind you, plunging you into an eerie silence. If you listened closely you could hear the fire- and the low voices of your friends just outside. If you truly wanted, you could just leave now and not change-and they would ignore it because of your emotional comfort- even if they did worry. Or…you could be comfortable physically with minor emotional discomfort. And they would be happy.

… That doesn't make it fair, huh? You pull off your shirt quickly, opting to rip it off like a band-aid. The struggle out of your binder was always a little embarrassing- but you shrug on the soft flannel in no time. It hangs on your frame, doing its job at hiding any shape of body beneath. Instead creating the illusion of one solid shape. You still knew your body was under there- but…it was as comfortable as you could get. Taking a deep breath, you step out of the van and trail back towards the campfire. Doc and Ren are talking in-between bites of food, both their gazes flicking to you at your approach.

You brace for a comment, of any mention of you wearing the flannel and accepting their offer- but Ren simply extends a hand out, holding a steak.

“Dig in! It's not getting any fresher.”

It's that simple moment of acceptance that solidifies it for you; Doc and Ren are true friends.

You will! Depending on the choices you make and Ren's affinity for you, you'll have the option to change his sprite! ^^ I can't say when/how specifically since that's spoiler territory, but the event won't happen until later on in the game (like around Day 8-10)

He's a little tsundere I think. He's one of those characters who just wants to be normal but he can't just pretend to be normal because he lives surrounded by chaos so he just complains a lot lolol. . .but i think he's a good guy. Aside from that he does not help his mother captain at all.

well based on one of Haku's chats, you can just do missions if you don't go to class, and based on Kaito you can just go to class instead of doing missions. . .but I'm sure Haru forces him on missions anyway lol. . . .

the mcyt gods of war

they dont really have names but for the purposes of this post ill go by The Blood God (technoblades god), The Red Kind (rens 3rd life possession arc), and The Brothers (aeor and exor from empires. yes ik theyre not war gods ill get to it)

in my mind, all mcyt gods of war come from the same source. think darkseid from dc comics; every darkseid is canonically Him, just different facets of the same guy. yes even the kids books and fanfiction.

so every blood god, war god, weapon related deity etc comes from the same source. violence is the same everywhere after all.

technoblades blood god is the most amorphous, i think. it latches onto a worthy soul from an early age, and this person becomes effectively the god themself. they are incredibly practiced in battle and they are Long-lived but do eventually die. theb the spirit of this worlds 'god' passes on to a new soul, another believer who has the capacity to take it a bit beyond whats sane. every blood god is different, some are kind and some frightenjng, some just and some cruel, but they all share the same ruthlessness and battle cry: blood for the blood god.

the red king is also more of a spirit than a being in that they have no physical form of their own, but they do have a personality that is all thwir own, so it can grow and change over time. they arent attached to a single person or follower, but are summoned via ritual or call from someone on the brink of death. the red king then takes over that persons body, helping them either achieve their goal or survive. the former works via contract and the latter via pure human will to survive merging with the red kings will to do the same. i subscribe to the hc from a popular hermitcraft fic (doc and ren otw to season 8) that the red king mellowed after he was summoned by ren because hed never been called to protect before, only hurt and target.

youll have to excuse my ignorance about these last two, im not as familiar w empires as i am hc and dsmp.

aeor and exor are twin gods, unlike the other war gods. i know theyre popularly headcanoned to be order and chaos, but id like to think of them as twin facets of war: cold and hot, calculated and passionate, frosted/hidden and blazing/seen. aeor became more favored in rivendell, and exor became more obvious as a result (to balance the forces) via xornoth becoming corrupted and the war being very obvious to citizens. i also think aeor being a war god makes my hc that scott grew antlers after becoming his champion make a lot of sense; sacrifices must be made for war, after all, and the pain of one man is nothing next to the suffering of a nation.

a common thread among the mcyt war gods is an affinity for temperature (all: blood god and the arctic, red kind and red winter, and aeor with scotts ice powers) and a motif with some warm blooded animal (this ones more shakey: techno being a pig is solely technos and not really the blood gods trait, same with the red king and ren-- the brothers being stags is the only solid connection).

this idea first came to fruition bc i thought it might be cool if rens red winter was the same frost that took over scott in empires; the same god ruining/saving their lives. technoblade came in because you cant really touch one blood god without mentioning the other, and well. here we are.

i imagine every blood god/paladin/host/etc has a passing familiarity with the others but not much else. enough know how to give a nod of respect, a sense that they are kin, but no names or specifics.

death, though, is the same for them all. she is kind, but she is unshakeable.

Hermitcraft Season 8 Theorycrafting

This is all a hypothesis, but based on current and future information I have some ideas on an overarching plotline for season 8. This is very long, so TLDR is evil alter egos wreck the server so bad they have to flee to the end/nether and nuke the overworld.

Minecraft’s Caves and Cliffs update was so big it had to be split in two. With season 7 fading and new features on the horizon, the Hermits have decided to jump right into season 8. The second part of the update has been postponed to winter 2021; this will completely change minecraft’s world generation. In the past, the Hermits have been able to update and extend the world border so they can play with new features, but I don’t see this being possible this time. This update will change the world height limit and geography so drastically it would probably break the server or make a awkward transition. What to do?

Partway through season 7, there was a major nether update. Instead of restarting the whole server or travelling very far to get the new stuff, the Hermits reset the whole dimension. Could they potentially do this with the overworld when 1.18 comes out? I’m sure it’s possible, but resetting the overworld is a pretty drastic change to make. All the builds there would be deleted and have to be abandoned. Certainly there would have to be a bigger reason.

After the success of the 3rd Life SMP, more hermits seem to be warming up to the possibility of roleplaying/improving. There’s always been a light roleplay element on Hermitcraft, and it’s only been increasing with time. I don’t think it’s impossible that they could plan long-term for a major event like this.

Evil alter egos are making a comeback! Most notably, the recent animation that heralds Evil X’s return and what appears to be a corruption of iJevin (whether this will be an alter ego or just a gimmick is still to be seen.) Helsknight was born in season 7, and Wels has already expressed a greater interest in season 8, which seems to indicate him being more active. It’s worth pointing out that Wels has embraced roleplay/lore in the past, in regards to his late arrival to season 7, and seems to adore the Helsknight character. Ren’s Stargazer plotline is following him to season 8, and Ren is basically the server’s loremaster supreme so he could lead this whole charge (after his performance in 3rd Life as the Red King I expect great things from Ren). There are other, less ‘canon’, fan favorite alter egos that could be included in this list, like NPC Grian and badtimeswithscar, or even an enemy no one saw coming, like a certain robot son that was lied to and betrayed by his fathers and now seeks revenge. The Hermits are creative people, I’m sure they can come up with even more.

My theory: season 8 begins as per usual. They play, build, mine, and have fun. The evils are there, but at the moment they are just up to regular small-scale shenanigans and allude to something bigger. The Hermits make modest bases, and perhaps have an unspoken affinity for building in dimensions other than the overworld. Over time, iJevin and potentially Ren would have to be redeemed/purified, and I’m sure they could play up their guilt about previous evil actions.

As Caves and Cliffs part 2 gets closer, the evils start to ramp up their actions. (A backup save of the server would probably have to be made at this point). I’m talking death traps, TNT dupers, murdering beloved pets, wither storms, perhaps even spawning an ender dragon in the overworld. At some point, they become unstoppable. The Hermits all agree that the only way to stop this reign of terror is to destroy the overworld dimension with the evils still in it. They evacuate, carrying all of their possessions to the other dimensions and stocking up on blocks that will no longer exist in 1.18, such as deepslate iron and coal ore. Farms are torn down and packed into shulker boxes to be reassembled. Villagers are moved to the nether. There are tearful goodbyes to day one bases.

Finally, the Hermits completely evacuate the overworld and reset the whole dimension, sealing the evils and their chaos inside. When they come back through the portal, there is a freshly generated 1.18 overworld waiting for them. Thus begins season 8.2. They have to start building from scratch, but they are able to keep all of their progress from earlier in the season. From this point on, the server proceeds as a regular SMP.

How the story proceeds from here depends on how well it went over with fans. If it wasn’t popular, all major roleplay plots can end here and they can proceed as they used to. If it does go over well with the fans, it can be hinted that the evils survived the purge and will return one day.

3rd Life SMP proved that the Hermits are capable of and very skilled at improv, and this storyline could contribute to that. This theory could be the overarching plot, but the rest of the content would be up to the creators. It would be entertaining without feeling scripted, it would explain the transition to 1.18 terrain mid-season, and it would have a set end point in case they want to tone it down later.

yes..the star wars sequels. i didnt like them but i feel like theres a lot of potential between what they made and the things that exist in Legends

anyways like okay listen. look at me. this is mostly about Rey and Kylo Ren/Jacen Solo. other characters coming soon once i figure out what to do with them.

rey first of all. was raised by shitty but great pirate Hondo Ohnaka because i love him he found her when she was very small. that's why she has his coat. when she was about 9 when hondo was likely killed, and has been on her own doing the whole pirate/scavenger thing on some mid and outer rim planets. thats most of her backstory summed up. this post is long enough already.

she wakes up and chooses violence every day. she's not cruel, and won't attack unprovoked, but once provoked she's not quick to settle down. she doesn't act out of blind rage, but her emotions get to her sometimes. her journey is generally going from violence to choosing peace (most of the time. a little bit of violence is ok.)

she has a very strong affinity to the living force- her ability to connect with people is unmatched...when she wants to use it (which isn't often.) i think she realizes she has the force when she heals a mortal wound Finn receives (he stays nearly the same btw i like john boyega). it's kind of an "oh fuck fr?" moment between them. one of her passive abilities is to see the dead...she can see force ghost of jedi past, who are simply imprints in the force of what once was. they don't speak or do anything, really, but it freaked her out as a kid. as an adult she doesn't care much really, but tries to ignore it.

while transporting Finn and BB-8 to the rebel base as a job, they get shot down and crash land on Yavin 4, where Rey has a fucked up moment of seeing rubble with many roaming, directionless force ghosts.. who turn to face her. and they lead her in the direction of Jaina Solo's double bladed lightsaber, now overtaken by plants and roots. Rey frees it, and feels the overwhelming emotion of everyone who had trained at the Jedi Academy.. before pure silence. peace, almost. all the ghosts have vanished. (She is all the Jedi, as you may remember.)

Kylo Ren (born Jacen Solo) is NOT a neonazi this time. he doesn't genocide people and doesn't idolize Vader. he admires Anakin, but understands his faults. i'm not into this sort of like. way they excuse the very typical neonazi "broken young man" bitchy white male rage thing. irl that shit gets excused all the time and it annoyed me that they tried to forgive this nazi cunt. maybe i can make a kylo that can be enjoyable and not annoying to watch.

he and his twin sister Jaina were often left to their own devices and were usually inseparable. as they grew older and joined their Luke's Jedi Academy, they began to drift apart. Jaina's fascination with Jedi of Old who were seen as heroes for a greater part of the old republic's history conflicted with Jacen's obsession with his grandfather, Anakin. Though most know him as a jedi who fell to the dark side, Luke told Jacen how Anakin had walked the path of the light and the dark, but it corrupted him. Determined to do what his grandfather could not, Jacen decided to find balance between the dark and the light.

Luke worried for him. he didn't know how to deal with this (but didnt try and kill him lol?) and would ask jaina to keep an eye on jacen. Jacen confided in Jaina about the power he was gaining from the dark side, and out of her own fear, decided to try and strike him down. convinced Luke had manipulated her out of fear that Jacen would surpass him, he killed her and destroyed the Jedi Academy, killing nearly everyond inside, and blaming Luke for it all

He joined the Knights of Ren as a teenager, and it was kind of like a biker gang who did viglante justice (according to Kylo and his definition of "justice", which usually meant "things the jedi were too scared to do". the rest of the group thinks like Deathwatch from the Clone Wars type morals) until the First Order reaches out to them. they need people like them. the new republic was built of shaky legs and didn't stick around. the First Order would bring, well, order to the Galaxy. and Kylo Ren would be their poster boy.

He's leading Military Occupations, invasions of "insurgent systems" all while putting on a pretty smile and waving for the HoloNet. he genuinely thinks he's doing good- that he's makikg a real, better change for the galaxy, that his parents would be proud of him for using the politics and the whole "smile and wave" regality he learned from his mother. He's beloved by many despite the destruction he's caused. kind of like justin trudeau. sorry that's the best analogy i can come up with.

Rey and Kylo are eachother's foil. a no-bullshit type learning to choose the lives of others over her own and learning empathy, and a misguided fool who thinks he's choosing the greater good who must learn to listen to other's needs and stop being arrogant.

So, Naofumi comes from a poor family from District 12, where the government abuses the people there for the workforce. Naofumi's family consists of him, his mother and father, and his 10-year-old little brother.

Naofumi and his father, together with all the other men and miners in the village, go to the mines every day, while his mother and brother would manage the little medicine shop of the village, though all they really had to work with were basic herbs and such. Sometimes though, Naofumi would go outside of the border, into the nearby forest, and check a few traps he'd set up to get maybe just a little extra food, like a rabbit or squirrel to sell.

When the Hunger Games come around, Naofumi's brother ends up chosen, together with a 12-year-old orphan girl, Raphtalia. Naofumi, in fear of his young brother's life, volunteers as tribute in his stead. But, fearing for their own lives, no one volunteers instead of the young girl, and the two are sent away to fight in the Games. But, not before Naofumi has a tearful last meeting with his family.

During the Train Ride to the Capitol, they meet their Mentor, a guy named Erhard. Erhard, as neither Naofumi nor Raphtalia has ever really used any weapons before, reached them a bit in their free time, and coaches them. Raphtalia seems to have an affinity for using blades like swords and machetes, while Naofumi more for hand-to-hand combat and smaller knives or daggers.

During the Tribute Parade, Naofumi and Raphtalia get a lot of cheers when they ride down with their clothes on blue fire, holding their hands up together. The idea for their clothes came from the lady who also made them, a nice Lady who calls herself Tailor.

During the Interviews, Naofumi is wearing what is basically a black-blue suit, and a corset with a crimson waist-cape attached. Raphtalia wears a cute black dress with blue glitter and a crimson sash around her waist, holding a crimson overskirt. Both of them show off that the crimson parts of their outfits are set on fire when they spin.

(Naofumi also notes that the guy from 1, L'Arc Berg, apparently has a girlfriend at home. L'Arc couldn't promise her he would come back alive, but he promised he would try. L'Arc also praised Naofumi and Raphtalia's outfits during the Parade with a grin.)

---*★°*:.☆.:*°★*--- During the Games

During the Games, Naofumi just runs in at gets the two things closest to him, a backpack and some rope. While running around, sleeping in trees, and hunting small animals with traps, Naofumi finds a group of other players banding together. The guy and girl from 1, L'Arc and Malty, Motoyasu from 2, Itsuki from 3, Ren from 5, and Elena from 8.

Naofumi notices that while the others are cheering and talking loudly about how they're going to win and kill the others, L'Arc and Ren mostly keep quiet. Ren just looks indifferent, while L'Arc looks almost downcast, or sad. Itsuki is talking about needing to take down the people outside their group who killed each other just for the things at the start point, playing a justice-filling teen.

While hiding from them in a tree, Naofumi notices Filo, an 11-year-old girl from District 6 a couple of trees away, together with Raphtalia. Naofumi sigh in relief that Raphtalia is alright before they signal for him to cut down a wasp nest nearby. Naofumi does so, while getting stung a bit, and the nest falls. While the others run, Ren ends up falling, having to carry both a sword and a shield.

Seeing Filo walking around with a Machete, Naofumi gives Raphtalia the sword to protect herself, and puts the Shield on his arm, before promptly passing out from the wasp stings a bit away.

From then on, the three of them work together to survive.

Suddenly, an announcement is made. The Rule for a single victor has been changed, and now two people are able to win together if they're not from the same district. Naofumi plans to sacrifice himself so Raphtalia and Filo can win the Games, and live their lives.

(The reason for the announcement, is because the Game Master, Aultcray, decided that he wanted his daughter, Malty back, and for her to chose anyone to live with, preferably someone good enough to marry and have a nice life with)

But, after a plan to make the group from before (—L'Arc is missing, Naofumi notes), Filo is killed, and Raphtalia is taken, hostage. Dying in Naofumi's arms, Naofumi remembers Filo telling him and Raphtalia that she didn't want to play in the Games, she just wanted to go home and play with her friend, Mel-Chan.

Determination in his eyes, Naofumi takes the Machete and goes to confront the group. Malty holds a dagger to Raphtalia's throat. After some trying for negotiation, Raphtalia shouts out that Naofumi should just let her die, since she has no one at home anyway. When Malty tells her to shut up, she continues, saying Naofumi should go back to his family.

Fed up with the shouting and useless words, Malty slits Raphtalia's throat, before pushing her off the small cliff they were on, into a field of landmines separating them and Naofumi.

Seeing this, Naofumi is furious but starts running, trying to stuff the blurriness his tears bring. The group follows after Naofumi into the forest, planning another kill.

While running, Naofumi is suddenly tugged into a small, hidden cave, a hand over his mouth and an arms holding his arms against his torso. He's now sitting between someone's legs, pressed against a fit torso.

After some time, about 10 minutes, of both of them sitting completely still to not get noticed, Naofumi starts struggling to get free. The other person holds him tight, and whispers in his ear.

"I'll let you go if you agree to cooperate. Right now, our only chance to survive that group is if we work together. Malty is slowly manipulating the other players to do her bidding, so if we want to survive her little gang, we have to team up." The voice, male, says. Naofumi recognizes the voice.

Seizing his struggling, but still tense, Naofumi stiffly nods, and the arms let him to. Scurrying, Naofumi scrambles to the other side of the cave, tense and ready for a fight. Seeing the other person, they're ready for a fight too.

L'Arc Berg, from district 1. Looking him over, Naofumi notes that he too has a backpack with unknown contents, and a sickle at each hip.

Staring each other down, after a bit, Naofumi speaks, having thought the offer over.

"Fine. I'll agree to a team-up for now. But do anything suspicious and you're dead." Naofumi says sternly

L'Arc agrees, and they quickly get to set up some traps around to catch some dinner, as it's getting late. After eating, they're each sitting in front of a side of the cave again, staring at each other. They'd already put the fire out, a bit far away.

Deciding to at least try to be a little friendly, or just start a conversation, Naofumi asks why L'Arc isn't with the group anymore.

L'Arc then explains that after he slipped up and said he didn't want to be in the games of his own will, they deemed that he wasn't 'trustworthy', and shot an arrow to his side before pushing him off a cliff, into a river. Somehow, luckily for him, he only ended up with blue and yellow bruises and some minor injuries from the river, and it cleaned his arrow wound. After getting some bandages and salve from a sponsor(His girlfriend, signed T.A), it's nearly healed.

Naofumi tells of how he'd betrayed too once. Some guy with a lot of power in his district had seen Naofumi 7 years ago almost die from hunger in the rain and had helped. The guy continuously came back with some food for Naofumi and his family, saying he just wanted to help. But, when he one day asked Naofumi to come with him somewhere, there's been others there too, and the guy had tried getting Naofumi to—... getting him into an uncomfortable situation.

Naofumi, luckily, had been able to run back to his house and never saw the guy again. But it still scars.

Suddenly, L'Arc had gone over to sit beside Naofumi, saying nothing. Naofumi appreciates the gesture.

After some days of hunting and traveling around together, they've already gotten closer. Naofumi even caught L'Arc when the redhead almost fell off a cliff, to the first ground far below.

Now, one evening, sometime after they've eaten, they're hiding under a very low and small cliff, hiding them in the darkness. They suddenly hear footsteps and voices.

It's Malty's group, with two new members, talking about how someone must be nearby, with the put-out fire. Naofumi and L'Arc stay close, tense, and unmoving. After a while of the footsteps disappearing, and relax a little.

Huddling closer, Naofumi lays his head on L'Arc's shoulder and intertwines their pinkies. L'Arc smiled softly to himself before moving his hand away and moving it around Naofumi to pull Naofumi closer.

"Just for the warmth. It's cold." Naofumi mutters, not bothering with hiding his faint blush in the dark

"Just for the warmth," L'Arc repeats, before feeling Naofumi falls asleep against him

Some days later, it's only Naofumi, L'Arc, Malty, Itsuki, Motoyasu, and Wyndia from 5 left. But, Naofumi has been coughing a lot for a while now and threw up a few days ago. He's sick.

(Unknown to them, the Wasps Naofumi was stung by in the beginning also has a long-lasting poison, that can kill someone from the inside out, if not treated. Inside the arena, only the medicine which has now been wasted and thrown away was able to help. Naofumi can either win and get treatment, or die.)

When the announcement comes that the Game Hosts are feeling generous, by putting out bags with what each district now need by the Cornucopia. L'Arc hurries off while Naofumi is out after throwing up. He ends up seeing Malty kill off Wyndia while Motoyasu runs for the bags.

But, with Itsuki on the lookout with his bow ready, L'Arc is unable to get the medicine for Naofumi. So, he can only hurry back.

But, during the night two days later, Itsuki is dead, and the Finale has started.

Walking around the forest in the morning to find some more clean water, Naofumi and L'Arc hear growling around them.

Naofumi protects himself with the Shield just in time, and L'Arc attacks. A wolf. And the rest of the pack is coming closer.

Naofumi and L'Arc start running, being forced in the direction of the Cornucopia. While running, L'Arc had to throw the sickles to get two wolves away from Naofumi. Getting on top, they find a Scythe that's been thrown up at the start of the game, which L'Arc grabs. Then, they're faced with Motoyasu and Malty.

As they start fighting, Naofumi protects himself from Malty's daggers with the shield, while L'Arc fights Motoyasu's spear with his new scythe.

Naofumi ends up pushing Malty to the furiously hungry Wolves, and L'Arc cuts Motoyasu across the torso, making the blonde stagger before falling to the Wolves too.

But, during their fight, Motoyasu managed to stab L'Arc's stomach.

As L'Arc falls down, pressing on the wound, Naofumi hurries over, worrying for his partner.

Gently, L'Arc whispers that he's glad that at least Naofumi is going to live, with a soft smile.

But, Naofumi starts violently coughing, and as he moves his hands away from his mouth, they're coated in blood, and it's running down his lips.

With a sad smile, Naofumi whispers.

"No. I'm not going to live either, L'Arc. I'm gonna die too. We live or die together, L'Arc." Naofumi speaks, before collapsing beside L'Arc

"It's... It's not that bad, I guess... Dying beside you, I mean," L'Arc rasps

"You sure, about that? After we played a game, of killing each other?" Naofumi asks sarcastically, but with a smile on his lips

"Don't ruin it," L'Arc jokes, before they each close their eyes

Suddenly, an announcement is made.

"AND THERE YOU HAVE IT, FOLK! THE TWO VICTORS OF THE 67TH ANNUAL HUNGER GAMES! NAOFUMI IWATANI OF DISTRICT 12, AND L'ARC BERG OF DRISTRICT 1!"

As the announcement sinks in, Naofumi intertwines his hand with L'Arc's and raises it high, before both of them pass out, still holding hands, as an aircraft appears above them.

---*★°*:.☆.:*°★*--- After the Games

After the end of the game, Naofumi and L'Arc are quickly taken to the hospital to be treated in time for the Victory Parade.

After healing up, while staying in the penthouse for the next week, Naofumi gets visitors. It's L'Arc, and he brought a very beautiful blue-haired lady along.

L'Arc introduces her as Therese Alexandrite, his girlfriend.

Therese, without warning, pulling Naofumi into a tight hug, thanking him over and over for bringing L'Arc home to her, and helping him during the games, and telling Naofumi that he really inspired her.

Inviting them in, the three end up spending the whole day, until late at night, chatting.

After showing the two the guest rooms, Naofumi goes to his room to try and get some proper sleep since the games.

It doesn't happen. His dreams— Nightmares, more like, are filled with trauma and memories from the games. Naofumi ends up waking up screaming, and Therese rushing in very little later. Halting, she finds Naofumi curled up on the bed, shaking and gripping his head with tears in his eyes.

Gently, she coaxes him to come with her to the living room. There, Naofumi finds L'Ac sitting criss-cross on the couch, a thick blanket wrapped tightly around him.

Therese sits Naofumi on the couch beside L'Arc, who seemed to also have had nightmares, only for L'Arc to quickly pull Naofumi under the blanket with him. Gripping L'Arc's pajama shirt, Naofumi almost doesn't notice when Therese goes to the kitchen area.

Some clanking and other sounds later, Therese comes over with three cups of hot chocolate, and hands the two one each, before sitting on the sofa chair moved in front of them, with her own cup.

For mostly the rest of the night, they spend with Therese gently calming the two down and just talking to them.

(Also, when L'Arc came back to the place he was staying at in the Capitol, he found Therese inside, waiting for him. After a reunion, L'Arc had taken Therese to the privacy of his room and talked to her. He explained that, despite their circumstances, he held some feelings for Naofumi, and that on TV, he wasn't really acting. His feelings were real.)

Still working out the details with the Fox Summons but I’d say that so far we have:

The Fox Clan is ruled by Kaede-hahakistue, or Kaede the Mother Fox.  A 8 tail. Serious and nurturing she does take a liking to Naruto.  Enjoys gifts of plants and pickled radish.

Yori is the reserved but mischievous grand fox who is in charge of the Scroll.  Serious grudge against cats.

Kyou is a long suffering 6 tail messenger fox in charge of correspondence. Fond of both sushi and shitty dad jokes.

Naruto’s two main partners though are:

Ren - dark blue-black fox who specializes in stealth and has an affinity for blades and water.  She works very very well with Naruto when it comes to any kind of sneaking. Sweet-natured. 3 tails. Enjoys long brushings and teas.

Hisoka - a kudga-gitsune (pipe fox) who has a mouth and a personality about 10000% bigger than his body.  Professional Asshole(TM).  Likes to sleep in Naruto’s hair or tucked in his kimono.  Distressingly good at illusions, covering the hole in Naruto’s style since he’s still pretty bad at casting real genjutsu.  Will criticize your fashion choices.

But also. . .he treats the anomalous animals and oftentimes even the other ghouls in Jabberwock like they're his kids. This is his way of saying 'you're part of this family too.' Which is very sweet.

Intro Paragraph:

In the Academy, she is the main Instructor for recruits with affinities for the Water element, two-handed weapons, and honing the Summoning Arts. She is a stern and stoic Instructor, but is never too harsh with students, although her surface attitude can turn some away. She is known to be very critical of the latest generation’s strongest Summoners, saying that while they are all strong, they all have yet to display true leadership in her eyes. 

Personality/Characteristics:

She was a subordinate of the Elder Summoner Owen before creating the 14th Demon Slayer squad alongside its captain and lieutenant. From her earliest days as a Summoner to the tragedy at Dawnsmarr that occurred over 20 years ago, she was an aloof, vulgar, and sarcastic woman who enjoyed riling up and starting rivalries with her peers. But, it was her strength and unwavering reliability that won their respect. Following the deaths of her closest friends, Zura became more withdrawn and left the Demon Slayers as she mourned them. After her remaining friends and the Elders helped her back up, Zura became the stern and stoic Instructor many Summoners from the Academy know today, as well as a strong advocate for Summoners’ mental health, with varying degrees of success. Among her friends, she still has the attitude she met them with. Like the elder three Instructors before her, she is more often than not quite critical of the leadership abilities of those regarded as the younger generation’s best. Even at her age, she is still capable of keeping up with and even overwhelming those in that group. It is said that to be struck by her greatsword at full force is like being hit by a tidal wave. She continues to casually refers to her initial captain as “Old Bastard”, which he does not mind in the slightest, surprising a majority of the Summoners’ Hall. Long ago, she was in a romantic relationship with her Academy roommate, the woman who would go on to be the lieutenant of their Demon Slayer squad, but after her death at Dawnsmarr, she has stopped seeking another partner.

Relationship with Renata:

She was made Renata’s godmother shortly after Renata was born out of gratitude for staying by her mother’s side until her father returned from his mission. In the years following the tragedy at Dawnsmarr, she continued searching for Renata, but could not find her until she enrolled in the Academy. From then on, she was both Renata’s main mentor figure and the one who willingly volunteered to deal with trouble Renata was involved in until Renata turned 18 and began to calm down. Zura had some unease over Grahdens suddenly recommending Renata to be an assistant Instructor shortly after, but was won over after being reminded of Renata’s reputation with her juniors and was impressed with how effective Renata was as a teacher on her own. She was at first disappointed with Renata’s sudden arrest shortly before Lucius called her to Grand Gaia, which made a rift in their relationship, but it was healed over time and understanding conversation. She once attempted to bring up Renata’s parents to her years ago, but she was shut down immediately and that is why she hid the act she was Renata’s godmother until Renata became more open to the subject again. While she has imprinted the ability to be critical of the strongest of Renata’s generation onto her, she can be just as critical of Renata herself. She is one of Renata’s closest confidants, becoming more of a mother-like figure in times of great uneasiness, such as in the midst of the Ishgria expedition.
