I feel like “children should not have their privacy in the hands of Uber controlling parents that are basically stalking them and causing them harm” and “the internet is not safe for children and they should not have social media accounts until a certain age/parents should learn to allow their children agency while monitoring their safety online with a healthy communication model and/or monitoring their social media usage” are things that can and should coexist. But also abusive parents just shouldn’t have kids LMAO but you don’t need me to say that.

And there must also be a dialogue about how on the internet children who are not an appropriate age to be left unsupervised are consistently exposed to content (I was I was younger being a liveleak kid, and now there is/was Ankha Zone and Cupcakke memes on tiktok or the few instances of graphic gore and death footage being passed around) that they should not be seeing. I should not have been seeing 8 year olds talking graphically about sex the way I was on platforms like tiktok.

“But children deserve a place on the internet,” people may say — to which I agree, but you’re also talking about the same internet where shit like Ankha Zone was exposed to young children and I was exposed to actual IRL gore when I was 5-11.

“Children deserve a place on the internet” absolutely can, should and must co-exist with acknowledging how unsafe the internet is for them, because no matter how hard we advocate for filtering and tagging and stuff like that there will always be someone somewhere who will find their way around it.

We must also recognize that parental safety features, while they can and WILL be used by people that most certainly should NOT have kids, are also very important — what about parents who are not cruel overbearing assholes? What if they have an open communication model as I’ve mentioned before with mutual respect etc etc and they DO have a good relationship and therefore are capable of using these tools for the advantages of both parent and child? What if for a moment these tools could prevent someone from turning out like a liveleak kid or what have you if they were handled in the right hands by a parent who isn’t a helicoptery abusive shitstain?

Idk it’s hard to articulate but it is a very wide and nuanced argument and I feel like a lot of people miss out on the capability of using these types of things for good because they get so caught up in how it will be used for evil by people who should, again, not have kids. It’s also so hard to try and bring up how these tools can be useful and healthy for the child (again if the parent and child have a good relationship built on open communication trust and respect and the parent isn’t you know hovering constantly) without someone wanting to tunnel vision on something and call me an abuser for just… advocating for the safety of children online and how certain tools can be used for such when the internet is full of people (see: trolls) who will do anything to get around filtering?

I get what you're getting at, but tbh it's also like... there's a huge difference between a 10 year old and a 13 year old using the internet. at the point where a child is going to be talking to people online, especially people they met through the internet, they should already be old enough to have this as a space away from their parents strict watch

sure, you can ask your kid before monitoring what they do online, but are they allowed to say no? and if they are, do they know they're allowed to? has there been a previous pattern of not letting them say no and set boundaries that could make them think that saying no will, at best, do nothing?

will monitoring them in this way even protect them? how are you supposed to know that someone is a predator just from their icon and username? does being able to pry just at that information make your child free like you don't trust them, so they must hide anything that could cause even less trust or more shame? not to mention teaching them that this kind of spying is okay as long as the person doing it has power over them

and even if you could answer all of those confidently that there's no inherent harm, there's still going to be bad people abusing it. it doesn't matter that some parents might use it responsibly, we know that many parents are going to use it to control and traumatize their kids. and abusive partners could use it to track their significant other as well, this is also basically a given

when I weigh any potential good against any certain bad, it just isn't worth it in my eyes

Thinking about that Ankha Zone thing again and like. It makes me angry whenever people get all scandalized about its very existence. Like yes I totally respect if ppl don’t want to see it, it’s really fair. But when ppl are like “Oh ew that’s disgusting whoever made that is a sick freak” like. Literally can you shut the fuck up this is not new. It’s not even just the furry part (characters in animal crossing literally are your neighbors. They make conversation and own property and shit. Yandere! Cat Hybrid! Mummy OC (Garai)

A/N: Here comes yet another OC, this time a male cat hybrid from egyptian times. Although, he is a bit, undead- This was originally going to be a female OC but I did not wish to think of Ankha.

A/N 2: I wanted to do more for this but it was getting too long.

Pairing: Romantic

Back in egyptian times, cats were worshipped and treated as gods. So imagine the surprise when a cat hybrid pharaoh rose to power. His name was Garai.

Garai was a strong hybrid, one that was fast and easily swiped at foes with his claws. Hybrids were rare during this time. This made Garai rise to power rather quickly.

Garai was described as having tan skin, dark hair, and dawning a black ears and tail. Subjects of Garai also described his eyes as a deep shade of blue.

Garai then held the title of pharaoh for years before eventually being put to rest due to a fight. He was respected and sealed off in a tomb, mummified with many riches.

This was all according to scriptures you had read while researching. Garai was one of the first hybrids encountered in Egypt and you had wanted to research more. Egyptology was something you were studying and luckily you managed to get a trip to Egypt with a research team to learn more for your major in college.

"Garai...." You hum to yourself. "The first hybrid pharaoh, huh? Fitting he was a cat."

Garai's tomb looked quite dull on the outside. With hesitancy, you watched the team pry open the ancient tomb. It was then you saw how the inside was decorated.

Many carvings covered the wall, all depicting the tan cat pharaoh. He looked to be held in high regard. It was interesting at how god like all these depictions looked.

The sarcophagus of Garai was even better to look at. Its appearance was very cat like, but other than that it looked similar to the other pharaohs of his time.

"Shall we open it?" One researcher comments. You give a hesitant look.

"Should we really try? What if we damage the corpse?" You sigh. "The sunlight may be too harsh-"

"It's just a quick look." They say back. "This is for research, right?"

You look down at the coffin and then slowly nod.

"Right. For research."

With a soft 'crack', the coffin lid was pried open with the tools that were with you. Inside was exactly what you thought. The mummified body of Garai.

Black and torn cat ears peeked through the bandages slightly, the body wrapped tightly in its own little cocoon. A pendant hangs from the bandages, green like malachite.

Coughing slightly due to the dust, you step back. Deciding to spend time away from the dusty old corpse of the cat pharaoh you go back to studying the depictions on the wall.

Time seems as though it takes forever to pass, but soon the other researchers close the coffin up and get ready to have a break.

"We're getting lunch, you coming along?" The researcher from before asks.

"Ah... I plan on taking a few quick notes. I'll come by in a bit." You answer, eyes quickly snapping back to the wall.

"Suit yourself." They say before leaving. "We'll bring you back something."

"Okay!" You reply, a soft bored noise leaving your lips as you start to scratch words down in your notebook.

20 minutes pass and you hear something hit the floor.

"...Guys? You there? You should be more careful everything here is fragile." You call, expecting an answer.

Nothing.

Clicking your tongue, you shut your notebook and walk towards the entrance more. They seem awfully quiet...did they not want to disturb you?

You stop your curiosity when you see an odd silhouette. The shape had its back towards you and had a tall yet skeletal body. What caught you most off guard was the tail and ears, the rest of the body covered in bandages.

Garai...that's what came to your mind. Garai had seemingly come back from the dead. Did... a mummy really exist in front of you..?

Fearful of what the 'mummy' planned to do, you distance yourself and head deeper into the tomb.

"What the hell..." You mutter, becoming fidgety.

You then heard what sounded like stone slabs slide together, your blood running cold once you figured out what happened. Did Garai just shut you in the tomb with him.

The area was dark thanks to the lack of sunlight. What you did notice was the heavy and raspy breathing. The only 'source' of light being the odd glowing malachite pendant on the mummy.

"Who...are...you?" The voice is gruff but raspy, like the vocal cords had been neglected for quite some time. Your nose is assaulted with the smell of must, feeling a presence near you. You could tell the language was Arabic....

You can't bear to answer the undead pharaoh.

"Speak." The command is very authoritative. You see the malachite pendant dangle in front of you, dull blue eyes being illuminated by the glow.

This...really was Garai, wasn't it?

"...(Y/N)...People call me (Y/N)-" You answer back in Arabic, hoping to get away from the undead hybrid.

"...Why...are you...here?" Garai rasps, ears and tail stiff but still movable.

"Research-" You cough, the smell plaguing you.

"Research...?" The mummy hums, tilting his head. "You are from...future...yes?"

"You could say that." You sigh.

The hybrid then stumbles around you, seeming to inspect you.

"Interesting..." Is all Garai says for a moment before seating himself back in front of you. "I was not...expecting to wake...in front of such an... attractive human."

You pause, furrowing your brow.

Did...Did a literal corpse just-

"T-Thank you...?" You comment in confusion, eyes going from Garai's dead ones to the malachite pendant on him. Did that have something to do with the mummy raising from the dead?

You shake your head, walking briskly away from the bandaged cat hybrid.

Then you felt dry, cold, hands grip your waist. You instantly jump, quickly trying to turn around.

"Leaving so...soon?" A choked laugh comes from Garai as he tries pulling you further into the tomb. "How...disappointing."

"Let me go, you're supposed to be dead- I need to leave!" You try to plead.

"Did you...know...cats were treated...as...Gods?" Garai croaks, pulling you closer to his cold and bandaged body.

"...Yes...?"

"I'm royalty." The cat mummy tsks. "Don't you wish...to stay and chat?"

"I have no need to, I really should go see my team."

The mummy shakes his head, holding your hand in his before eying your notebook.

"You need...research, right? I can...give you information... stay awhile." Garai offers, you struggling.

"No, really, I must-"

Garai's eyes go from his dull blue to a green glow like his pendant, eyes narrowed while he stares into yours.

"Stay...awhile."

His tone is so...hypnotizing.

You blankly stare at the mummy, one thought coming into your mind.

This is the chance of a life time, to interview the pharaoh you were researching!

Maybe you should stay awhile longer....

I didn’t really believe peoples when they said “millennials hate kids” most of because I’m a younger millennial and I love kids. My cousins, also millennials, love children!

But tiktok kinda made me realize that it’s true.

For those of you who don’t know. There a video that went around tiktok. It had ankha from animal crossing, riding a guys dick. Now the video on tiktok wasn’t that explicit, it showed her clit and the bulge of his dick through her tummy. And that was it.

However, for anyone who doesn’t know tiktok is rated 13+. Meaning that it is not an adults only space. It’s a space that’s supposed to be shared by minors and adults.

However the adults on there seem to have a lot of disdain for the kids, who CAN be on that app, for being on an app meant for them too.

A lot of adults are shaming kids because they are complaining about the video being on tiktok. And these adults are acting like internet trauma is a competition. Iv seen people go “these kids have clearly not seen two girls one cup”. Meanwhile I’m over here like “THEY SHOULDNT HAVE TO ON A APP THATS ALSO MEANT FOR THEM!”

Apps like Twitter and tumblr that have a 17+ rating is not meant for children. So adults don’t have to be careful with what they post because there should t even be any children on those apps in the first place.

I very much believe that adults and children need their own spaces. But when you have apps like tiktok, that are aimed at minors and adults then it IS the adults responsibility to police ourselves on what we post.

Now this isn’t just on adults. 13 years old is old enough to know that the internet is not a safe place. Especially with these newer generations who have never known a world with out the internet. And if you go looking for something that others have discribed as disgusting and gross, that’s on you for looking it up.

If your underage you also shouldn’t be posting sexy cosplay, not because you aren’t allowed to feel sexy about yourself, but because really gross adults will use your pictures and try and hint you down or groom you.

Anyway people honestly need to respect the ratings on websites and apps.

If it’s 17+ then it’s okay to be an adult and act like an adult if your an adult.

If it’s 13+ then both adults and minors need to be respectful of each other.

Alright! I am here with a few headcanons about my villagers (previous and current) in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as well as a few headcanons about the NPCs.

First off, the NPCs...

Tom Nook: He is bisexual, and has asperger's syndrome and depression. He used to have a crush on Sable Able, but he and Isabelle are dating as of now.

Isabelle: She is autistic and transgender. She also runs a TikTok account that's feuding with Ankha's fame, and plays Doom in her pastime.

The Able Sisters: Mabel is an autistic lesbian, Sable has mild depression and secretly despises Isabelle for taking her place in Tom Nook's relationship, and Labelle is queer and polyamorus.

Daisy Mae: She is autistic and has a slight case of down syndrome. Her mother is in constant disagreement with Sow Joan, and invests in cryptocurrencies.

Flick and CJ: Flick is a transhet female-to-male, and CJ is a nonbinary, pansexual countryboy with a preference to females (no matter their sex), and uses he/him pronouns.

Blathers and Celeste: He has asperger's and PTSD, while she is autistic and nonbinary, and uses she/her pronouns. He is also nonbinary.

Brewster: He has aspergers and mild depression. That is why he speaks in a low, monotone voice.

Redd: He's gay. Enough said.

Timmy and Tommy: They're both autistic, with Tommy being trans.

Saharah: She is a genderfluid that prefers to use she/her pronouns.

Kicks: He is queer and asexual.

Leif: He is autistic, trans, and has an addiction to the weeds. Altogether, he's a walking reference to that old Stoner Sloth campaign.

Harvey: He has down syndrome and is polyamorus. Same with Pascal.

Resetti: He has PTSD, depression, anger issues, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and superiority complex, all on a heaping mole sandwich.

Gulliver and Gullivarrrr: Gulliver is the worst member in his crew. Even worse, he's the captain whose crew wanted none other than to get rid of him since the first time he washed up on a GameCube. Gullivarrrr, however, is feared and respected by his crew, and he has a drinking problem. Gulliver has a drinking problem, too, but he also has superiority complex as well as being gay.

Paradise Planning: Lottie is a polyamorus pansexual, and Niko and Wardell are autistic. Niko is a bit more extroverted than Wardell himself.

K.K. Slider: He's asexual and aromantic. DJ K.K. is actually his son, and is in a slight conflict with his old man.

Wilbur and Orville: They're both aromantic, with Orville being an extrovert, and Wilbur being in touch with the latest trends. They're both capable of warping through different universes, and (with help from Dr. Shrunk) developed the amiibo functionality in the game to expand their horizons. Crazy, huh?

Lloid: He is capable of cloning himself. The original Lloid is actually a god.

Now the villagers...

Jitters and Flo: He is her adoptive brother. He also has down syndrome, and an addiction to coffee, and crushes on Kiki. She is an aspiring rock star who wanted to travel the world and impress it with her music. As for Jitters, he has mild depression and uses coffee as a coping mechanism.

Kiki: She is autistic and has OCD, and a crush on me. She also is secretly a witch in training, and an artist.

Tutu: She has a serious drinking problem and suffers from inferiority complex. She has ADHD as well.

Curt: He has PTSD and arthritis. He is also an alcoholic, but his alcoholism isn't too bad.

Doc: He's a school teacher who used to struggle a little in school as a student. He doesn't want anyone to make the same mistakes he did.

Plucky: She's a little arrogant, but she is also asexual and aromantic.

Lopez: He's a polyamorus, pansexual nonbinary who uses he/him pronouns. He has a Twitter.

Tiffany: She is polyamorus and pansexual as well, but she also used to work in a gentlemen's club.

Maggie: She had a severe case of bad luck.

Skye: She is nonbinary and bisexual, and uses she/her pronouns.

Bunnie: She is autistic and trans. She also has a TikTok and a Twitter.

Punchy: He is nonbinary, pansexual with a preference to males, autistic, imaginative, has a TikTok, a YouTube, a Twitter, and a crush on Kyle.

Katt: She is also nonbinary and pansexual, but she sometimes like to flirt with Punchy. She runs a music channel (where she posts her songs) and a gaming channel on YouTube.

Kyle: He is nonbinary and pansexual as well. He is also polyamorous. He also has a YouTube and a TikTok.

Francine and Chrissy: They sometimes like to flirt with each other. However, they're also pop stars, with Chrissy not realizing she already got fame. They both share a TikTok.

Rosie: She's autistic and has ADHD.

Felicity: She's not really a cat, but a human who identifies as a felisgender. She's also a lesbian.

Flora: She used to be a drug addict, but she is slowly recovering.

Ken: He is asexual and aromantic.

Mira: She's a member of the scaly fandom. Why else does she have dinosaurs in her house?

Whitney: She used to have a boyfriend, but she broke up with him a few years before coming to my island. She also has a Facebook.

Hopkins: He has ADHD and OCD. He used to be a ball bouncer before he was transformed into a bunny.

Gloria: She's intersexual and polyamorus. She also has a Facebook.

Sterling: He used to be a noble knight, until his king betrayed him and sent him to present day, because he is gay.

Lolly: She is a cispan, has aspergers, and runs a TikTok, and a few Tumblr blogs. One of the blogs is a Homestar Runner fanblog. She's also an artist and likes to draw her fellow villagers...and has a crush on Punchy.

Ankha: She used to be an Egyptian queen, until her burial. Many years later, her sarcophagus was opened, she saw before her eyes the person she ever met in forever. She then wrapped them up and trapped them in it, ready to take on the world.

Hotel: Trivago.

My POV from Ankha Zone Trend

If you don't mind, why do I regret Ankha for anybody's good? It's because I've never seen in my 23 years of life talking about my first favorite villager called Ankha which is a kitty version of Cleopatra. Everyone knows what happened with Z0NE's video.

I didn't know the purpose of the video, but I considered the Ankha Zone's original video, "Pet the Pussy" as an awesome animation, great music background, and perfect match design to the original concept by Nintendo as a 2D animation. The animation is about porn though.

Everything's gangsta until the banned TikToker inosukessweatyfeet started all of the NSFW spread out of any social media in September 2021. I supposed that the Ankha video is only for adults, but the warning for community guidelines of social networking was ignored by TikTokers.

I began to reply to everyone on social media (especially Twitter) to know about her internet trend, and regret Ankha as a snooty cat villager for a videogame for all-ages.

My obsession with Ankha would mark on my life as a scar from a headache, & I worry about the Ankha ban for politically correctness in which people and companies exclude bombshells characters.

Although I made some mistakes such as telling communities which love the Ankha video, misinterpreting my context, and sending links from an article to each one of everyone. The true culprit about the Ankha Zone isn't me nor NSFW artists, but users who love furry porno without reason.

At least I love Ankha the snooty cat as you think. Not because of the internet, but playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons each day since March 26, 2020, and knowing her 9 years before the lewd meme happened. Someday in the future, I'll still remember Ankha in a Nintendo game.

The purpose is my POV which somebody remembered about the 2021 memes, & never forget her Egyptian vibes which I protested to people who loved Goth Ankha, and at the end of the day I understood why goths wear an Ankh symbol. But hey, I want to focus on my other life activities, and everyone deserves to be free as long as they respect me. Thank you.

Joseph:

His island is called New Eden can’t change my mind on this

Named himself Father

Title would also include father (Thinking either Reliable or Friendly)

Loves all his villagers no matter how they look.

 Everyone is welcome in New Eden after all

 Sends gifts to both his family members and villagers almost daily

Would want to have 3 villagers that come close to his family.

Fluffy for Faith, either Keaton or Lopez for John and either Lobo or Grizzly for Jacob

Doesn’t cheat or time skip at all, plays at least an hour or 2 a day. He is a very patient man

His home will most likely have one of the rooms to look like the inside of a church

The rest is surprisingly cozy

His other remaining villagers would be most likely those who are often considered ugly or not wanted;  Elise, Chops, Freckles, Rodney, Gloria, T-Bone and Bella

Besties with all of them

John:

You bet your ass this man cheated his way to a 5 star island.

Island is most likely airplane or sky related.

Title would probably be along the lines of Flying gifted one or something like that

His island is surprisingly well designed and does look like a fancy rich neighborhood.

Definitely has wallpaper in home with airplanes on it. Probably even made the design himself so it’s his plane. (most likely in his bedroom)

The main room is based of his ranch.

Designed some of his clothes in game as well

Only fancy looking villagers are allowed to live on HIS Island and would buy amiibo cards to replace his ugly ones. (Joseph adopted Rodney from him)

Would teach his villagers inappropriate catchphrases or make them say YES.

Speaking of Yes, just in front of his airport there is pattern that says: SAY YES on top of his road

Rich in bells because of turnips and he totally abused the duplicate glitch with help of Jacob

Definitely plays multiple hours a day. He even once played 24 hours because he was making his island perfect. Did get scolded by Joseph afterwards  

Villagers would include: Alli, Ankha, Olivia, Kitty, Raymond, Julian, Marshal, Colton, Blanche and Pecan

His cat villagers are his favorites.

Jacob:

 Only started playing after John and Faith kept bugging him about it

He won’t admit it but the game actually helps him relax

Island name would probably be quite normal compared to his brothers.

As a Title he decided to call himself respected grandpa, John now call him grandpa

Everything is very organized in his island. Sometimes looks more like a military base

Got quite some bells because of the duplicate glitch. Aside from that Jacob barely cheats but he does turn back the clock if he wasn’t able to play a few days. He even keeps track of the dates when he was able to play.

His home is more of a family home mixed with a few gym equipment.

Enjoys fishing and probably got the golden fishing rod before anyone else in his family.

Like Joseph he likes to send gifts to his family, but he doesn’t see the point in writing letters to villagers.

His villagers are Wolfs or Dogs.

His villagers would include: Skyle, Fang, Wolfgang, Audie, Freya, Vivian, Butch, Daisy, Shep and Cherry

Best friends with Audie, thinks the story of the grandma is very touching. Butch is his spirit animal

Faith

Definitely the first one to get the game.

Her island reached 5 stars the legit way.

Island would be called The Bliss

Title is most likely Flower-Loving Free Spirit

Actually owns a lot of amiibo cards because she collected them when she was playing on the 3ds

Her island is mostly nature and a lot of white flowers.

Her home most likely done in pastel colors and she made a full on home including kitchen and bathroom.

Lot of her clothes are white.

Really jealous on John for having Marshal. She would also love Fluffy but is touched by Joseph picking fluffy to be his faith on his island.

 Plays almost as much as John but does keep a healthy life style. Some hours are also Faith leaving her switch on standby mode while she is doing her work.

Her villagers would be cute and a lot are white or pink and a lot more females.

Calls them her angels and sends letters to them daily.

Her villagers would include: Gayle, Annalisa, Lolly, Bob, Judy, Maple, Fuchsia, Cookie, Flora & Whitney

Loves them all but is especially in love with Whitney which she was allowed to take over from Jacob.
