DAY 10
Today I have once again measured the oxygen consumption of my oysters although this time I did it after exposing them to microplastics in order to state the impact of these on the respiration rate.
It has honestly been one of the most difficult days since I’ve started the experiment, not only because of the very long procedure but also because I’ve encountered more technical issues.
However I have managed to sort all of the problems out and even though I’m tired I am very satisfied.

DAY 4
Today I have been measuring the respiration rate of my oysters before exposing them to microplastics.
For 4 hours they have been inside the respiration chambers, in which I have attached the oxygen sensors. Some peristaltic pumps ensured a continuous flow of water through the chambers. By using a glass fibre optic cable I measured the oxygen concentration every hour during the first 3 hours and every 30 minutes during the last hour. 
It's been really fun to play with the oxygen detector. I really enjoyed my new toy!
After 4 days all the oysters are still alive!! But from tomorrow I will start to feed them microplastics. Can’t wait to see what happens!
