MAKE A LITTLE ROOM © 2024 - G. Smith (BMI) =================== It’s a warm afternoon, lazing in a hammock, Swinging underneath the trees, swaying back and forth. Looking from the window, I smile as I watch you, Then step out from the kitchen, and walk across the porch.

You look up and shade your eyes, against the sun behind me, I stand there for a minute, without a single word. I give the hammock a gentle nudge, just to keep you rocking, The softness of your giggle sounds just like a little yellow bird.

That Saturday down on the beach, a blanket in the sand, You’re staring off across the water, waves just rolling in. I put suntan lotion on your back, and ask if I can join you; You look so surprised, I know, you’re teasing me again.
