So today Queequeg, that hero of the seas, despite being already dead, saves the last person he will ever save.

And it's his husband.

With his coffin.

Which it was always odd for him, not only to want, but to be so persnickety about. Seeing as how coffins aren't really a big South Sea Island thing.

In many ways Queequeg is the epitome of the Noble Savage, and Mystic Knowledge is a part and parcel of Noble Savagery, this is probably not a coincidence. Queequeg Knew that coffin would be important to him personally, even though he didn't know why.
