Padawan!Reva AU stuff for u guys:

-Cody has become an office worker/Diplomat/ approver of rights for the newly established vod'e and is tired of sitting I said office.

-He enjoys gossiping w/ The chancellor aka Mon Mothma

-Padme stepped down from her post as a senator after making her relationship with anakin puplic as to not further compromise her and her planets government's image.

-She and Anakin have moved to Naboo where she has taken on to wrangling more local politics.

-Anakin has followed in his Padawans footsteps and left the order to become a stay at home dad.

-Obi-Wan and Reva have severely different tastes in tea which causes a lot of bickering.

-That is the only thing they mostly argue about though since both of them share simular interests in Anthropology, History, Sciences and Politics.

-Reva is a bit more interested in the economic stuff (timeliness, effects on the future, war, famine, etc) while Obi mostly focuses on Humanitarian stuff) cultures, traditions, religions, etc)

-More than half the population of Jedi (especially Masters and knights) deal with post war ptsd, which makes the council give mandatory classes to initiates and all those who were spared from the draft, to cope with those who suffer from it and how to handle them in cases of emergency.

-Rex, the 501st and some other clones cruise around with ahsoka in the outter rim.

-The starlight initiative will be re-established to better support the outter rim and it's rebuilding efforts.

-The jedi are stretched thin and have refused almost any request of aid after the wars end to rebuild and strengthen themselfs once again.

-Two years will have past after the war when the fic starts.

-Anakin/Ahsoka and Obi-Wan are on low Contact.

-Obi-Wan is a girl dad with crippleing emty-nest-syndrome

Summary:

They saw her around Mos Eisley, sometimes, lingering by the repair shop where her father worked or sitting atop the crates strewn about the street. She had strange eyes - aged and watchful and inquisitive, even more so perhaps than the other children around her, although all of them had grown up too early all the same.

She would watch the Stormtroopers with tension in her shoulders as though expecting them to lunge at her at any moment. She would watch the other children and blink slowly as though she thought they'd fade into thin air out of nowhere. Even the suns - when she looked up, her dark eyes seemed to swallow the sunlight falling onto them, as though she was trying to take it all in. As though she worried that even the suns might burn out without warning.

There was something important that Reva Sevander had learned throughout the last hours she spent in what once had been a safe haven, lying atop her murdered clanmates and trying not to make a sound as the stench of their deaths grew more and more oppressive - nothing, least of all tomorrow, was ensured.

totally unprompted hypothetical here but do you think if someone actually was a closeted trans person who hadnt come to terms with that yet, it would help to be constantly laughed at and joked about and have all of their actions and behaviour scrutinised for any suggestion of femininity/masculinity?

I don't think I'll ever be over the way that the thesis statement of OWK is represented, more than anything else, even more than Reva's plotline honestly, in Haja.

Like.

Genuinely? The one "twist" I wasn't emotionally prepared for was that Haja was legit, and he really was trying to help, and there really was a massive grassroots shadow-network underground railroad evacuating Jedi survivors and Force-sensitive kids across the galaxy, and he really was part of it.

Because the thing with his whole setup--the magnet tricks, the motion-controlled windows, the cold-reading, the crowd-working kid identifying obvious offworld marks, the "audience plant" stormtrooper playing along over the comm? Yeah, they're cheap tricks, but it's a SOPHISTICATED setup.

This guy is a straight-up conman. He really is every bit the sleazy grifter he appears to be.

That matters. That's important. Haja is not an angel. He's a mid-level fake psychic, callously cashing in on the Jedi's legacy to do, like, bullshit fortune-telling. It's--it's the way you can see this guy's whole backstory in a few minutes of screentime. Because we DO see him identify a Force-sensitive kid....and the escape he offers them is genuine.

So: Haja. And the story we can see in him at a glance.

He's a scam artist! He's dressing in knockoff porn-vid robes, waving his hands, and babbling half-remembered vague tropes before murmuring generic platitudes and sending rubes on their way. The Jedi are dead, right? It's not like they're around to be offended. He's not even really lying, right? He gets people what they want! The Jedi stuff just lets him upcharge! He's just skimming a little, a man's gotta make a living.

And then, one day, someone came to him who'd used all their hope just getting there. Someone with a Force-sensitive child, and the Empire on their heels, stumbled terrified into his little den of cheap tricks, because they'd heard a whisper of a rumor that there was still a Jedi alive on Daiyu.

And in that moment, Haja learned that he was a better person than he'd ever realized.

They must have staked everything on reaching him, and then they found him, and what they found was...Haja. Just some guy in a cheap costume. Just some guy, and not a particularly great one. How much is the bounty on a Force-sensitive youngling? Enough to retire on. Enough to set you up for life. And Haja is just some guy, who had just been slapped in the face with the reality of what he was capable of doing in the next five minutes.

There are moments when you learn who you really are, and sometimes you surprise yourself.

After all that time "acting like a Jedi," when given the opportunity--he chose to act like a Jedi.

Ultimately, the thesis statement of OWK is: There is a galaxy full of Hajas. And that's hope enough to keep going for.

i was wondering if you have any ideas on where Reva is in your last 4 jedi comics? I think it would be reeeealy funny/angsty if they met her. We have Luke, the son of the man who she hates most but is also the child she chose not to kill. We've got Ahsoka, Anakin's apprentice. Then we've got Cal and Ezra, both of whom have faced off against Inquisitors before.

I'm gonna be completely honest I don't think she'd join the academy-proper, I imagine after the Inquisitor stuff she probably wanted to stay out of fighting and I don't think she'd be comfortable enough w the force again to teach it to kids. I think she's somewhere out there living her best life as like, a farmer w a nice wife or smthn. maybe the gang can run into her but I don't think she'll become a reoccurring character <3

The series Ahsoka is coming out soon, and in light of the recent comments by Ashley Eckstein...

... I figured I'd also point out that people hated Ahsoka.

Every complaint you've heard about Rey? It had been hurled at Ahsoka about 7 years prior.

“Oh, she’s fighting Grievous and she’s only, like 13?! That’s so OP!”

“She feels like a Mary Sue written for a prequel based fan fiction.”

“Oh, she disobeyed an order from Yularen on Ryloth?! She’s so snippy!”

“Ugh, I hate her and her stupid voice!”

“She’s always pointing out stuff other characters have missed, like she’s so perfect! She's a Mary Sue with an annoying voice and personality.”

And honestly? I remember that period. People despised Ahsoka (and sometimes voiced anger towards Ashley Eckstein too), just like they hated Hayden Christensen, and most Prequel-related content.

But guess what? They weren't the target audience. Said Eckstein in her 2018 book It's Your Universe:

“Ahsoka’s arrival on the scene was met with mixed reactions. She had a big personality and was very snippy. [...] She talked back to Anakin, and some even called her bratty. Critics didn’t quite know what to think, but kids loved her. Finally, girls had another character besides Leia and Padmé to play on the playground — and now there was a lightsaber in their hands.”

They didn't "fix" Ahsoka, as you'll see on some click-baity YouTube thumbnails.

She had a fucking character arc. There was nothing to fix.

The whole point of her character is that she starts out as immature and petulant as Anakin is in Episode II. This forces Anakin himself to grow up, so he can better take care of her.

Eventually, they both mature together... and at some point, Ahsoka surpasses Anakin by learning and implementing the Jedi teachings, while Anakin remains stuck on that first part (no thanks to Palpatine).

Same thing goes for Reva. The character has a goddamn arc.

I'm all for putting a "save the cat" moment to make these characters more likeable (and even when they do, like they did with Rey, then somehow the problem becomes that they're too likeable), but at the same time, I think parts of the fandom should wait and see before prematurely hating on a character (who almost always "just happens" to be female, weird!) to see what story is being told.

Kenobi is great because it’s two weeks of Obi Wan being forced to confront Anakin through people other than Anakin

Through watching Luke, through discussions with Owen, through encounters with Reva, through meeting Leia

And yk it’s like luke and leia represent Padme and Anakin and the decision to split them up and Reva represents all the dark qualities of Anakin then with Owen it’s splitting the twins up AND it’s anakins family, tattooine and his mother and all of that.

So they put Obi Wan through all of this and you the viewer are like “okay i’m ready he can confront Vader now, he can start to heal” all that stuff and if this was a normal media they would, but they don’t,

instead you get this

a 501st trooper asking for help, in the traditional paint still carrying the old phase 2 armor that at that point hasn’t been used in a decade. And it’s anakin again, his beloved battalion pops up, we see the face that matches all the ones anakin loved so much.
