Voice of The Goddess Part 2

Part 1

After dying the Goddess Hylia asks for your help in the fight against Calamity Ganon. You find yourself beside Zelda, Link and the 4 Champions of Hyrule. Armed with knowledge of the previous games and a Magic long forgotten will you be able to prevent the tragedy in store for our heroes.

Chapter 2

After singing a hole in the clouds, the three Hylians were more inclined to believe your claims. The four of you left the Spring of Courage to make your way south to the Highland stable where their horses were currently being boarded.

Zelda had so many questions for you, Her curiosity seemingly unquenchable. She apparently liked researching and analyzing ancient technology and history. And the Sun’s Song seemed to fall under that category.

“How did you learn such a song? It was thought that much of the knowledge from before the First Calamity 10,000 years ago had been lost.”

“Oh, I know a bunch about the old stories. That song was one the Hero of Time learned, although it originally switched around night and day.”

“I would very much like to hear them. It will be some time before we reach the stable.”

So you do you best to recount the first part of Ocarina of Time, the Princess swallowing up any information voraciously. It was absolutely adorable how enthusiastic she was about learning.

Her eyes sparkled as she listened and tried to ask insightful questions about the child hero. You hoped your answers were equally insightful but you doubted it. Impa seemed equally enthralled with your tale. At least until you got to the part about the young Princess.

“So she could use her magic even though she was still so young?” The was something tense in Zelda’s voice. She looked down at her own hands which were fidgeting nervously. Link and Impa seemed just as on edge.

“Did I say Something wrong?” Oh god you hope you didn’t horribly offend the Princess.

“Well it’s just…” Impa started as she awkwardly scratched at the back of her head.

“My own magic has eluded me for quite some time.” The Princess finished tersely, pointedly not looking at any of you. It seems this is a subject of great distress for the Hylian Princess.

“I was praying in the spring, asking the Goddess to help awaken my sealing power when you appeared in the water.”

“Maybe that’s why she appeared.”

You and the two other women turn to Link after his quiet interjection. You’re still not used to hearing his voice and judging from the other’s reaction, neither were they.

“That actually makes a lot of sense…” Impa rubbed at her chin thoughtfully. “With your knowledge of the ancient stories and magic I’m sure you know the key to unlocking the power to seal away the Calamity.”

Zelda did not appear to be thrilled with this revelation. Her hands gripped at her dress, her shoulders tensed. She still wouldn’t look at anyone.

You couldn’t stand to see her so disheartened. You carefully hold both her hands with your own. “Don’t Princess, I swear I’ll do everything I can to help you unlock your sealing power.”

She looks into your eyes, her green ones misty with intense emotion. “Thank you.” She nods in acknowledgment.

You reach the stable sometime around sunset. The stable owner comments how fortunate this is, as monsters have grown more troublesome during the night.

“It’s one of the signs that Calamity Ganon will soon awaken.” Impa explains. The two of you are in a private tent, meant for the Princess and her entourage, while Zelda changes out of her ceremonial dress. Link had gone to tend to the horses, while the Sheikah woman was trying to find if she had extra clothes you could wear. “Monster attacks have gotten worse and now Stals are showing up.”

You sit with your hands in lap, patiently listening as she explains the current state of Hyrule. How Calamity Ganon (who is apparently not a person this time but more of a force of nature) was prophesied to return soon so the King of Hyrule has ordered excavation and study on ancient Sheikah technology. They’ve currently unearthed for giant machines across the regions of Hyrule called Divine Beasts as well smaller battle machines called guardians. The King had also ordered extensive training for Princess Zelda so she can awaken her sacred powers.

“But Her Highness has a more scientific mind, so the realms of spirits and magic have been difficult for her to access.” She added as she fished around in her pack. “If things weren’t so dire, I kind of wish she could just study tech instead of standing in springs praying.” She holds out some clothes to you, “Here, this should work until we can get you something of your own.”

“Thank you.” You go to a private place to change. Impa had given you a simple navy tunic that ended at your thighs and a tan jacket with wide sleeves that stopped at your elbows and fell just below the knees. There was red sash to tie close, and a pair of simple sandals for your feet. You decided to keep the shift on underneath to keep more coverage on your legs.

You decided to see how it looked in a nearby mirror and were shocked to see your appearance had changed. You now had pale blonde hair, lighter than even Zelda’s. It landed at mid back with a slight wave. Your eyes were a blue green like sea. You think you look a lot like Hylia did when you met her. Perhaps it was her way of marking you as chosen by her.

It was actually really unnerving. Your old life really was gone, wasn’t it? You didn’t even look like yourself anymore. You’re never going to see your family and friends again. How were they taking your death? You realized that you’ve signed your life away to fight in this very dangerous world you don’t actually understand.

Breathing was suddenly becoming way more difficult. You legs gave out from under you and you collapsed onto the floor. You try to find away to steady yourself but your eyes can’t seem to focus. Your hands grabbed at the floor looking for something steady.

“Excuse me, but are you-“ and that’s when Princess Zelda decided to check on you.

You look up at her and your last modicum of control crumbles. You can’t stop crying now, your body heaving with each sob. You try to babble out an apology but you can’t manage to form words.

The Princess kneels down next to you and places her arms around you. You cry into her shoulder, muddled words of you fears pouring out. Her presence is steady and patient as she consoles you.

It takes some time but you calm down enough to pull away.

“I’m so sorry, Princess.”

“It’s alright.” Zelda seems to be considering her words carefully, probably trying to not to agitate your delicate emotional state. “The current circumstances are quite difficult, and you likely need time to adjust.” She looks away from you. “You have not dealt with the shadow of Calamity Ganon hanging over you most of your life.”

And you couldn’t imagine how awful it was to grow up with the apocalypse looming ahead of you. You place one hand on her shoulder and the other over your heart. “This situation is scary for both of us.” She looks into your eyes, “So let’s promise that we won’t go through this alone.”

There’s a faint blush on her cheeks, you hope you haven’t made her uncomfortable. But she places a her hand on the one that’s on her shoulder and gives you a soft smile. “Yes,” she nods, “we’ll work together in this.”

Don’t get him wrong, he loves you dearly

But as champion, he has to stay in top condition

...Although the fact that he’s using a pair of tongs to hand you stuff kind of dampens the mood

Sidon:

He is the total opposite of Revali

It takes two guards to pry him away from your bedside

“Your Highness please, you have a meeting with-”

“That will have to wait. For now, I refuse to leave my beloveds side while their health’s at risk.”

“But sir-”

Sidon tone will suddenly hardens.

“This is an official order as Prince of Zoras domain. You will stand down and provide no further arguments on the matter, understood?”

Oh shit, Sidon never pulls the authority card

That’s how you know he’s being serious

The guard however, looks more exasperated than anything

“Sir, it’s a cold, not a blight.”

Lying on the bed, you blow your nose as you nod in agreement with the guard

The moment you started sneezing, Sidon immediately put you on bedrest

Honestly, you didn’t feel that bad aside from the cough and stuffed sinuses

A day or two of rest, and you’d be fine

You’ll have to reprimand him to get his (very hot) fish butt in gear

No one’s ever seen Sidon finish his duties so quickly 

He’ll return to your bedside as soon as he’s done for the day

He curls his large form around you and nuzzles into your shoulder

You could almost swear he’s purring

(Not only did you get a loving boyfriend, apparently that also meant adopting a pet puppy shark)

Out of the three, Link is hands down the best caretaker

Like Sidon he’ll dote on you, but he’ll react more sensibly to the situation like Revali

Which means, unlike Sidon, he won’t act like you’re at deaths door after catching the cucco pox

He’s  high-key a provider

Anything you need, he has at the ready

There’s also the added bonus with his cooking

Dude can make anything mouth-watering without having it churn your stomache

However, he’ll be strict if he needs to be

(Like, he WILL tape oven mitts over your hands if you don’t stop scratching)

Overall though, he means well 

Links not much of a talker, so he probably won’t read to you like Revali

Once you’re asleep however, he carefully climbs into the bed and lays down beside you

The entire time, he quietly hums a lullaby in your ear

He vaguely recalls his mother singing it to him as a child  

The memory brings a warm smile to his face as he softly continues his mothers song

A Letter from Revali to you

This is a Christmas present to @chained-ikshu (aka Jade). After they gave me and another friend of mine an art present, I felt like I had to give something back. But even though this is a gift to them, anyone can read it if you’re a Revali fan! 

A Letter from Revali comes in the mail. It is addressed to you. You’re surprised, considering that he would usually fly to meet up with you wherever you are and talk with you face to face. That, along with the fact that you have never seen him send any mail. But encased in an envelope with a special candle wax seal to close it (with the symbol of Vah Medoh as the seal) was, as of your knowledge, one of the few letters that Revali has ever sent. And it was to you.

You had received it after finishing tending to your garden in the Tabantha Frontier. While other neighbors around your home had always hunted, you always believed that bringing in a fresh harvest was more rewarding. After collecting all of the swift carrots and putting them in their respective pile, a messenger Rito had flown down from the clear skies above. He seemed agitated as he held the mail to you, but all of his stress was relieved when the paper was given to you. He did not say a word after the letter was shoved into your hands, and then he flew back to Rito Village, with its large rock formation looming in the distance.

It was a letter from Revali, the Rito Champion. Or more accurately, a letter from your love. The two of you have been together for so long that you could barely count the days to keep track. You smile as your mind drifts back to the image of him, sighing out of hopeless affection. It has been quite a while since you have last seen him; perhaps this is what this letter is for? To confirm for yourself, you pick away the seal on the front and open the parchment. Despite not ever seeing Revali’s handwriting before, you thought it was very impressive as he wrote in a unique font. It was similar to cursive, but it was slightly more readable, which made you smile because you hated cursive. And so, you began to read.

“My one and only champion,

It has been so very long since I have seen the magnificent smile of yours, and every day that we are apart I yearn for it more. I do apologize for not contacting you in person, but I have been up to my beak in work with the Princess and her appointed knight. They constantly insist that I must assist their victory over a magnificent beast that was sealed away 10,000 years ago. I have agreed and have been gathering my belongings, but I will not leave until I do a few final tasks.

One of them, my love, is to spend our anniversary together.

Perhaps you were worried that, due to how I have been tugged around these past few cycles of the moon, I may have forgotten. But in truth, you have been on my mind the most since the Princess had arrived. She is beautiful, yes, but none can outmatch you my darling. In a few days I must leave, but since our anniversary; the anniversary of the start of our relationship, is soon upcoming, I simply know that I must see your face once more.

I can still remember the day we have met. I was surveying the area for monsters and became famished, so I stopped to sample your delectable edibles as I have heard many talk of your many skills. We may have gotten off on the wrong foot, as in it took a while for us to obtain anything due to our mutual stubbornness, but I was still glad that I met you. Slowly but surely, you had brought me meals every day to prove me wrong for insulting your garden. But right alongside that, it had given us a chance to talk to one another. My heart still leaps with joy whenever I remember us meeting up once again. When you had confessed that you had feelings for me, I was truly shocked! But I had never been so glad to be caught by surprise.

So since tomorrow I am departing to Hyrule Castle to converse with the other champions, I would first like to spend one more night with you. I shall take you onto my back and show you the stars, and perhaps in return you could make us your signature Banana Nut Bread! We can meet tomorrow eve; I would assume that this would be the best option for the both of us.

But most of all, I would like to say thank you. So many people, Hylians and Rito alike have never truly seen me past my glorious skill. So when you had confessed that you have had feelings for me, I was close to leaping for joy! You were one of the few that I know that see past my arrogant exterior and see me for truly me! You refused to let others talk bad for me while I ignored what others had to say, as I believe that it is all simply noise. You were one of the few Hylians that broke through that noise and found the true me! Every day I am together with you now has always been a pleasure. So I would like to thank you once again for everything you have done for me. I truly do appreciate it.

So we shall meet tomorrow! I shall bring my stories and you shall provide the Banana Nut bread? My heart cannot contain my joy of seeing you any longer; I simply cannot wait any longer! But do remember when I travel with the several other champions, you shall always be on my mind. I promise that when I leave that I will come back for you. But most of all, I promise that tomorrow will be the perfect evening for the both of us.

How would Link and Revali react to having an S/O who is a Baker?

Let's start with Link. He would be positively THRILLED you bake. Link eats. A lot. And luckily you're quick enough in the kitchen to keep up with his stomach. He's always impressed by the food you make and the quality of it.

Now, Link isn't above eating some bugs and frogs he finds under rocks. Every time you try new recipes he is always willing to taste test, even if they dont always turn out quite right.

If he ever notices you getting some trouble from people for your line of work? He's always there to back you up. A person complains about the price of your cakes? Link will come up and buy all of them so the angry customer gets none. Your family is criticizing you because you chose to be a Baker and starting your own business instead of settling down? Link is there with the Bolson crew to build you your own bakery.

He backs you 100% and makes sure you're never left wanting. He loves you and your wonderful food. ❤

Revali, if you were a baker, would never shut up about you. Not only are you a Baker, you're the BEST Baker. If your food, for whatever reason, wasn't the talk of the town then he will MAKE it so.

Have you heard about that Hylian chef? Oh, they're only the best around. Also, you belong to him. No taking his goods. But have they tried your cookies? They're to die for.

Any bit of criticism you receive will be met with Revali stepping in, boasting about how good your food is, how popular your business is, and how you're the best around. If your family tries to guilt you from doing what you want? Forget them! Revali knows an excellent place where you can set up shop near the Rito village, far away from the critics. He knows your business will do well because he knows you.

In all honesty, you'll never find yourself a bigger cheerleader than Revali.

“Y/N Y/N!” They called out, huddling around as Revali landed on the wooden planks. At least five little Rito children were gathering around, hugging you as soon as you let go of Revali’s neck,

“We missed you Y/N!” A little girl said as you ruffled her bright pink feathers. Fortunately for you, you had missed Revali rolling his eyes, and crossing his arms against his chest.

“Aww, I missed you too! Hateno Village just isn’t the same as it is here!” You said with a grin, scooping up the smallest Rito in your arms.

Being a Hylian, there had been several people who judged yours and Revali’s relationship. Most of them were older, but you could still hear the whispers when you two were together. Revali ignored them and told you to pay them no mind. Though it had still bugged you. The other champions were quite open and welcoming, glad to have met someone who could put up with Revali for more than ten minutes. Mipha was the most accepting, seeing as she was in love with a Hylian herself. Of course, the Rito children loved having you around. They thought you were so cool and loved playing with them. Plus you always had amazing stories of Hyrule, and they could sit and listen to you for hours.

“Y/N! Could you please tell us a story?” The small green feathered Rito pleaded in your arms.

You were just about to answer when Revali gave a firm no.

“I’m sorry, Y/N is too busy to concern herself with stories.” He said, grabbing the Rito in your arms, and putting him down.

“Oh nonsense Revali, we weren’t going to do too much. One story couldn’t hurt.” You said, looking at Revali with the eyes that made him melt every single time.

“Oh fine. One short story. I’m not listening to this one though. I don’t want to get bored. I have probably heard this one anyways.” Revali huffed, giving you a small smirk as he walked away.

It didn’t take too long, and you were sitting down, telling the children of how a Moblin almost attacked the village. As you were finishing up your story, you couldn’t help but smile as you saw Revali leaning against one of the wooden frames. His arms were crossed and he looked rather bored, but it still made you happy. If only you knew what Revali was really thinking. As much as he thought it was cute that the children adored you so, he couldn’t help but feel envious. He wanted to be spending the time with you, as clingy as that might have sounded. His days off were few and far in between. After you were done the children scattered off for lunch, enjoying the meal with their families.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” You asked, standing up and brushing yourself off. It was always freezing in the village, and Revali would always make sure you were bundled up just right. You walked closer to him, pulling your giant doublet closer to your body.

“Nothing that is important my dear.” He answered, looking over at you.

“Oh come on. I am not an idiot Revali. I could tell something bothered you when I wanted to stay. You aren’t jealous, are you?” You questioned, not being able to hold in the laughter. It was silly to even question it, but Revali’s silence gave it all away. “Hey, come on now. They just think I am interesting because I am different, so they enjoy the stories.”

“I am not jealous. Well, not really. I think it is delightful that the children love being with you, it’s sweet to watch you play with them and tell them stories. However, if you must know, we rarely get to spend too much time together now. The Princess feels as if Calamity Ganon will strike any minute now, so everything needs to be prepared. Daruk was only able to convince her to let us free today so that we can spend what time we may have left with our loved ones.” Revali said, in a tone that made your heart race and your mouth dry.

Before he could say anything else, you had your arms wrapped tightly around him. The thought of losing him made you sick to your stomach, and you couldn’t bear to think of it. It was something that you tried to avoid, but once Revali said it, it seemed so real.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I didn’t think of it that way. I should be spending as much time with you as possible. Any day could be our last.” You near sobbed out, which caused Revali to chuckle.

“Hey! I didn’t tell you that so you could go and blubber and worry on me. I’ll always be with you, I promise. Don’t try to kill me off so quickly. Once Ganon sees me, he will probably be running away terrified.” Revali said, making you laugh. “Let’s enjoy our time together, okay? The last thing you need is to worry yourself to death, Y/N.” He told you, looking into your eyes before holding you close.

“I love you Revali.” You murmured, resting your head on his chest, enjoying the warmth of his body.

“I love you too, Y/N.” He whispered, smoothing out your hair.

Honestly, drunk Link’s not that different from his usual self

I mean, he’s already a menace sober

It’s hard to outdo the crazy stunts of the Arson King  

One noticeable difference would be that his antics are on a smaller scale

(The lack of focus and impulse control prevents him from doing anything too big)

He still pulls some weird shit, it’s just that his stunts will have smaller repercussions

Like he’ll accidentally burn down a house or two, instead of the entire region

Goes down from pure chaotic energy, to little gremlin mischievous imp

There IS still some chaos though 

No Link, you don’t think Revali needs a haircut. His feathers are supposed to be long. Hold on, why do you have scissors? Sweetie no, he’s asleep- Wait, Link STOP-

That night, Rebaldi was born

Unfortunately, Rebaldi is not pleased once he discovers the new look

Once you finally manage too settle down in bed with him, he starts complaining that now it was too cold

In the end, it’s best to just throw off the blanket and try to ignore your bratty lovers whining for the night

Eventually, a pair of wings will wrap around you body and pull you into a chestful of feathers from behind

You can feel Revali nuzzle his beak into your shoulder

“That’s better...” He slurs. He passes out immediately after

Chapter Two: Growing up rito

Being an average 10-year-old Hylian really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. It especially sucked if your best friend was literally a foot taller than you. Joelle made a face as Revali stood proudly. He really wasn’t a foot taller than her, in fact he only differed by a couple of inches. But she’d swear he was a foot taller. “It’s not my fault your so tiny. I hear you might grow a few inches if you drink milk every day.” Revali taunted her, her face slowly becoming redder and redder. The two have known each other for at least four years now. Yet, he still insisted on pushing her buttons.  Joelle stomped her foot in retaliation. “Ugh, leave me alone worm breath!” She growled before stomping off. He’d never admit it to her, but he thought she was cute when she got angry.

He mildly pondered if he had possibly gone too far this time. It’s possible, but not likely. He decided to play it safe and drop it for now.

Joelle gritted her teeth as she stomped down to the flight range. ‘Stupid Revali and his dumb millet eating brain!’ She cursed at him mentally. Hoping he might feel the rage she radiated. Usually, she’d laugh and tease him back but lately, things with revali were becoming strange. It wasn’t noticeable at first, she really couldn’t rack her brain around it. About a year ago, he started touching her more. Hugging a lot longer, holding hands, following her around. Then, he started doing this weird puffing up of his chest and started talking more positively about himself more than usual. Recently, he’s glared down Ingo and scared him off for no real reason. Hopefully, Kalin will be able to tell her the answer.

She thought quietly as she stalked up the flight range. “Chief?” She called out to him where he sat in the shelter. “Hello again, is something wrong?” Kalin greeted. She sighed. “I think Revali is sick…”

Kalin perked up at this. “He seems healthy to me, why do you think so?”

“He’s been acting strange lately, for the past few months he’s been obnoxious. He was constantly talking about himself and cleaning himself…I think he said it was preening? Next thing I know, he glares at Ingo until he runs off.” Joelle frowned. “Something’s got to be up.”

Kalin’s eyes widened as he settled his hot chocolate down. “Has he been oddly affectionate with you? Hugging, nuzzling?”

Joelle nodded. “Yeah, will he get me sick?”

Kalin sighed. “He’s fine, but I will need to tell him that you’re not a rito so you don’t understand.” He shook his head.

Joelle stopped him. “If you tell me, then I would. What’s wrong with revali?”

Kalin gave in once he saw her puppy dog eyes. “Ugh, Rito’s have a different way of courting the person they like. Right now, he’s attempting to court you through the stages without you knowing.”

She sat up straighter. “Courting stages?”

Kalin nodded. “Yes, something like that. It starts with increased PDA; Hugging, holding hands, brushing shoulders, simple stuff. That’s stage one. Stage two is Preening. Cleaning himself up more, straightening his feathers, puffing out his chest, talking himself up more. He wants to look his best for you. Right now, he’s in stage three. Which exhibits obsessive behavior. He’s going to make sure every rito in Rito village know you are off limits.”

Kalin physically winced, with a sigh. “Also, he might take things you leave behind and will repurpose them into gifts for you later. I’m sure you find this both shocking and the weirdest thing ever.” He gave you a sympathetic look.

“Is that all the stages?” She bit her nails trying to cool her nerves. He frowned, shaking his head. “The next one is nesting. He’ll want you to stay in his room more often. Decorating it and making sure it has the things you will need to be comfortable…He’d probably try to share his hammock with you. Then, there’s the enticement period of which you two are both far too young to be engaging in.” Kalin rubbed his face. “I will intervene, I will tell him to knock it off until you are at least well informed and old enough to actually begin the courting process.”

“So, I guess I can’t stay in his room tonight?” She rubbed her arm. He huffed. “You can but allow me to talk to him a little. Ok?” He patted her on the head. “Stay here and train, go to Revali’s room when night falls.” Kalin stood, walking to the end of the platform and taking to the skies.

 She rubbed her face; her face turned a bright crimson the more she thought about it. ‘Why did Ritos have to be so weird?’

She picked up her feathered edge sword and climbed down the ladder to hit the wood dummies she made. They were made of old broom handles and buckets with a pumpkin head. Shields hung from their frame that made a loud clang with each blow she’d land. It wasn’t ideal, but she still enjoyed practicing. Even though she enjoyed it. Her mind wandered. ‘Why would revali like me? I’m not a rito…’ She hit the dummy ruthlessly to quell her anger and confusion. ‘Why? Maybe it’s a joke. A joke I’m not in on?’ She nodded to herself. ‘That would make sense, I guess.’

“Revali always makes the weirdest jokes…” She mumbled. ‘How did he get Kalin in on it though? That doesn’t make any sense… was it a joke?’ She drew back her sword and continued practicing with vigor. ‘Whatever, Revali’s just one big dumb bird. The dumbest!’

Bang!

Clash!

Bong!

Kalin tapped his favorite fledgling. “Revali, there’s something I wish to discuss with you. Can you follow me for a while?” Revali nodded and kept pace with Kalin. “Did I do something wrong, sir?”

Kalin just sighed. “Yes, and no. We’ll discuss it in privacy.”

Revali really didn’t like the sound of that. They trekked up into the chief room, children’s doodles of Kalin, Revali, and Joelle were plastered upon the pillars. Revali gave a nostalgic smile.

“I’ve figured out what you’ve been doing with Joelle recently.” He started. “Beginning the courting stages with someone who doesn’t understand isn’t okay.” Kalin frowned at Revali, who stood silently. “I’m only going to tell you this once, wait until you’re both old enough. You’re too young to be courting like this, not at your age. Her age.”

Revali shifted to the side. “I didn’t want to wait…it hurts to wait. I want to love her now. The way I know I can.”

“Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. She doesn’t understand courting rituals, she’s Hylian. Not Rito. I don’t care about you being in love with her, I just want you both to be prepared for it. If it does happen, she needs you to tell her what you’ll be doing to her, so she can be aware of your advances. Going behind her back, can make her hate you. I doubt you’ll want that.” Kalin grimaced as the young Rito bowed his head and shuddered.

“You’re lucky she still loves you. Right now, you need to just be her friend for a little while longer. A few years will not kill you.” Kalin smiled as the boy looked up at him hopeful.

“She doesn’t hate me?”

Kalin nodded. “Yes, but please don’t make her uncomfortable like that again. She might not want to be friends with you next time. Even I wouldn’t want that for either of you.”

Revali nodded. “Okay, what do I do now?”

“Be children, I suppose. Laugh, Play, joke. Like you used to. I’m positive you can do it.”  Kalin patted his back. “Remember Joelle is staying with you tonight, try to behave yourself.”

Revali flushed, his blood mixed with the blue of his feathers causing a purple hue to glow from his cheeks. “Yes, sir.”

 When night came, she padded quietly into Revali’s room. The shutters were already closed and revali was making a small dinner to eat. It looked like meat skewers. She toed off her boots and hugged him from behind. “Whatcha makin’?” She smiled. He grinned. “The great revali is making one amazing cuisine, the likes of which you’ve never seen or tasted before.” He stuck his beak into the air. “You better be grateful that I’m giving you a portion of this meal.”

 “Heh, whatever ‘vali.” She shoved him playfully. He nudged her back and watched her as she dramatically flopped on the floor. “Ugh! You’re so mean.” She pouted. “Love you too, Joelle.” He teased.

He poked her with a spoon pushing her away from the fire. “Move before you singe your hair.” She complained before rolling a bit, so she was a safe distance. “Fine.”

When dinner was cooked, he handed her a skewer. He eyed her as they ate. “Joelle, I wanted to apologize. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” He glanced at her as she looked at him confusedly. “What do you mean?” Her eyebrow arched in curiosity. “The whole courting ritual deal, I didn’t want you uncomfortable.” He sighed. “You didn’t really make me uncomfortable, though.” Joelle trailed off before coming back. “I was just worried that you might be sick with something. Like the flu.” Joelle smiled at revali.

Revali mirrored her before pulling her close. His beak pressed up against her hair as he nuzzled. “I’m sorry I made you worry. I didn’t mean too…” He whispered. She shushed him. “It’s alright, revali. Promise. But whatever courting ritual you were doing sounds serious. Let’s not do something like that for a little while longer, ok?” She nuzzled into his neck, a sigh pushing itself out of his chest. “Alright. Let’s get ready for bed.” He reluctantly peeled away from her.

He flapped his wings, fluttering into his hammock, reaching over the side to help Joelle into it as well. He wrapped his arms around her before tucking them both in. They were now both content with where they were now. Cuddled up against one another as the chilled wind blew past.

“Y’know, imma marry you one day…” He whispered.

“Huh?”

Titles mean very little to Revali, but you live up to yours well

Originally, you came to Hyrule to discuss about providing military support against the Calamity

The soldiers accompanying you showed a surprising amount of devotion towards their princess

After spending some time with you outside of meetings, he quickly starts to see why

You’re fiercely dedicated to your kingdom and its peoples wellbeing, always putting their needs before your own

The Rito Champion can’t help but admire your constant efforts to fulfill your duties as their ruler

In return, you found his never-ending confidence endearing

(Link privately questions the ‘endearing’ part)

It’s only after you two start a relationship that he learns about a particular problem

Ah yes. The kidnappings

The first time it happens, he nearly molts on the spot

Your men are swearing in a panic once they discover the news 

“Oh shit, not again!”

...Again?

This has happened before!??

Revali wants to shoot your soldiers right then and there for their incompetence

(You’re both going to need to have a serious discussion about your knights training after this)

But right now, your rescue is his first priority.

Once he learns where you were last seen, he flies off to retrieve his lost princess

(Little does he know...)

He spends the next few hours on a wild goose chase, frantically dodging and shooting enemies in the way as he makes heads to your location

When he finally arrives, he’s taken aback by the giant building looming over him

Was that castle always here?

No. He’ll have time to think about it once your safe

 A lot of rupees must’ve been spent on the place, ‘cause he has to avoid traps installed inside the building the building almost every five seconds

Seriously, who the hell lived here??  

Eventually, he makes it to the room where you’re being held by-

HOLY HYLIA THAT IS THE BIGGEST LIZALFOS HE HAS EVER SEEN!

Revali’s mildly horrified

He’s never seen so large or...grotesque like this one before

He quickly dispatches the beast and goes to open the cage you were trapped in-

Okay enough gushing, ya’ll came for a head canons!

Characters are ordered from most to least likely to make you cry.

Revali:

I think we all saw this coming.

Best Rito isn’t known as an asshole for nothing, so obviously he topped this list. 

(Hey, first time he ever beat Link at something)

It’s normal for you two to bicker

But there’s one time where it got way out of hand

Now when Revali’s angry, he shoots words out like a machine gun: they’re quick, painful and accurate

(Good luck getting a word in edgewise)

His comments eventually drive you to tears

UNFORTUNATELY, Featherhead here is a hothead

Will be too caught up in the moment

“Oh there’s no need to act childish Y/N,” There’s a mocking bite in his tone “enough with the crocodile tears.”

When you continue sobbing, his anger starts melting away to guilt

Suddenly he’s very aware of what he’s said

He done fucked up

He’s at a loss for what to do

Will mumble something about training and take off, leaving you alone for the rest of the day

(It’s not that he doesn’t care, he’s just worried that he’ll make things worse right now)

Eventually you cry yourself to sleep in the same spot from that afternoon

You wake up the next morning wrapped in a bundle of blankets inside your hammock

Once you’ve managed to untangled yourself, you spot Revali nearby preparing breakfast

He glances up when he hears you approach

Nervously, he slides some fresh cooked omelettes onto a plate and hands it to you without a word

His face looked like he was worried you’d to eat him instead

(And not in the good way)

You both spend a good minute staring at each other, trying to figure out what to say

Revali decides to break the silence first

“I took some time to to reflect on last night’s events. I realize that I......may have gone too far.”

“No shit.” Sadness had morphed into anger overnight. If he wanted your forgiveness, he’ll need to say a lot more than that

Instead of the usual snippy retort, Revali nods “I suppose I earned that”

...Well that’s not the response you were expecting

Apparently he paid a visit to Zelda last night to discuss her recent friendship with Link. 

He wanted to know how she managed to resolve things between them.

Throughout his explanation, his gaze remained trained on the wooden floor 

His feathers begin to fluff up when you don’t respond right away

“I have many talents y/n, but this isn’t one of them. I have little experience in romantic relationships, along with the difficulties that come with it”

“However,” He finally meets your gaze. “I wish to learn. If you are willing to give me a chance, I promise to do my upmost to work on...this.” He gestures between you and him with his wing “What happened last night... I swear that it will never reach that point again.”

And if you allow him to, Revali will make good on his word

Link:

This guy’s mastered the silent treatment

Link’s a quiet guy so he tends to become distanced when he’s angry, rather then yell it all out

You learn this the hard way after a particularly bad argument with him

 Suddenly, he’s acting colder than an ice talus 

No matter what you say, the only response you’ll get is a dismissive grunt 

This goes on for days

The dude is surprisingly good at holding a grudge

However, one night he returns home late and hears faint weeping

He sneaks upstairs and finds you with your back turned to him while you quietly cry yourself to sleep

His heart nearly cracks in two once he catches a glimpse of your tear-stained face

Will quickly leave before he can get caught

Conversations aren’t his thing, and the situation required more than a simple apology

One thing is clear though; he needed to make amends.

There’s a note on your pillow the next morning

Inside it is your boyfriends handwriting, apologizing for his behaviour

Will proceed to list everything he loves about you, from the general things to your little quirks; everything he never says out loud

You did’t even realize you did half of these things 

But Link did

And he loves all of it

At the bottom, he makes you a promise to make up for the last few days

Downstairs, Link’s prepared your favourite dishes

Any of his recent cold behaviour is nowhere to be found

During breakfast, he lets you know that he’s taken the weekend off to spend time with you

That weekend feels like heaven

What Link lacks in words, he makes up for action

Will insist on doing your share of chores, takes you horseback riding for a picnic, he even shows you his secret spot for stargazing

You both take the time to enjoy each others company

 By the end of it, the argument is nothing more than a distant memory

Sidon:

It-it honestly hurts my brain to imagine this soft boi being angry

Like, no.

He baby.

It will take a LOT to make Sidon lose his temper

Even then, it’s probably over something like your safety

For example, if you have a habit of recklessly running into danger with no regard for your own safety like a certain Hylian

Sidon will try to bring up his concerns with you. Multiple times.

You just wave it off every time

The constant dismissing eventually causes him to snap

He won’t do anything big, maybe just raise his voice or shout in frustration

“Would you please LISTEN TO ME!?” 

(Bruh, even when he’s angry he’s polite)

Unfortunately, Sidon is also an 8ft. shark with a booming voice

You know he’d never actually lay a claw on you. He was a gentle lover (No, not like that you naughty sinners)

However; when you hear the natural growl in his voice, and baring his fangs in irritation-

In that that moment, you’re terrified to the point that tears start sliding down your cheeks. You don’t even notice them as they fall

But Sidon does

Poor baby is crushed

Will immediately crouch down and gently gather you up in his arms

He tries to make his voice as soft as possible, cooing words into your ear in an effort to put at ease

“Shh, shh - please don’t cry darling. I am so sorry, I don’t know what came over me.” He rubs small circles on your back to help calm you down. “I swear that won’t happen again.”

Great, now he’s crying too.

(You might actually need to comfort him now too)

Once you’ve both calmed down, you try talking things out again.

This time, you take his worries about you more seriously
