🧸 Favorite place to nap?

u know what i am actually no good at napping and i hate that! i am so jealous of people who can just go for a nap for an hour and wake up feeling refreshed but it will 100% make me feel WAY worse than i did before and i also like…lose all sense of time? like it completely destroys my circadian rhythm and i feel like it’s the next morning? idk. so if i am tired i just have to like…zombie-drag myself through the day until it gets to a feasible time for me to be able to go to sleep for the night. it sucks. anyway if i COULD nap i would want to do it in bed bc my couch is extremely small and uncomfortable (rental flat) and if i sleep in a weird position i won’t be able to move afterwards bc i am very old.

(fun fact: while i was writing the above i googled whether being bad at napping is an ADHD thing or just a me thing. results: inconclusive however i did discover that my t-rex arms is an ADHD thing! the more u know!)

anyway my favourite extinct animal is the quagga! they were a type of zebra i believe, and they look like someone photoshopped the front of a zebra onto the back of a donkey. they were, unsurprisingly, hunted to extinction by humans.

🔮 What’s your dream job?

MAN if i knew this i would be in a better place in life lmao 🫠 i love writing and i love painting (my degree is in fine art) so if money was no object i would likely be a writer or a portrait artist. but doing either of those things as a career is largely impossible these days w/out financial backing or a rich spouse, neither of which i have.

if actual skills were no issue i would love to work in motorsport strategy. i have no real capacity for STEM subjects so realistically i would be useless at this job, but if i could like wave a wand and wake up good at something? yeah, head of strategy with the personality to match pls.

i get a new whim about every three weeks so here are some other past dream jobs i have briefly entertained: painter of plates (this was a childhood one idk); set designer; practical SFX artist specialising in horror (i did actually go to school for this for a bit and can make myself look very effectively fucked up, and i volunteered at some crisis simulation training events which was fun!); leather worker making fetishwear and sex toys; running a combination bookstore/sex toy store/event space for kink education. i’d love to just not stare at screens for my whole life one day i guess!!

Growing up, allll I ever wanted to do was work on the archaeological sites of either Herculaneum, or Pompeii. Been my special interest since age four, and I was so very dead-set!! I’m a big ‘silly little ocean creatures’ guy, but to narrow things down, I’ve got to go with Opabinia. Just the most ridiculous little arthropod with a true multitude of eyes <3

Ohhh, this is a tad difficult! I have a favourite shirt- it’s black, silky, and has a little ruffle-y collar bit, with velvet lace. I even have a favourite cape! Honorable mention to my new Snoopy “protect the planet” shirt! Ultimately, though, I am very much a shorts and Some Shirt guy. I very autistically collect shirts with national parks on, and then pair that with one of my inordinate pairs of shorts :) In winter, this is simply swapped for jeans!!

Pairing: Peter Parker x reader

Summary: When Peter meets you at college and you two bond over your lack of sexual experience, you quickly become the best friend he’s ever had. But while he falls madly in love with you, he doesn’t know if you feel the same. You hold his hand when you’re out together, talk to him about the vibrator you want to buy and bless him with that beautiful look in your eyes that is reserved only for him… yet he’s not sure if you see more than a friend in him. Little does he know, you’re wondering the same about him, hoping for the same outcome.

Thank you for all the love I received for the teaser and just talking about this fic already 💘 This has been on my mind for so so long and I’ve been (sporadically and inconsistently) writing it since like September. Jurassic Park (1993) for the movie asks🦖

So let me explain lol. I watched it when I was 8 with my younger cousin (who was obsessed with dinosaurs), and already at the time I wasn't really into it. I tried to rewatch it when I was slightly older, and once again it didn't convince me lol; the conclusion is that I don't like dinosaurs that much I guess lmao. But I do consider it a good movie!! Especially for its practical effects and its wonderful use of cgi (ex. the scene of the t-rex), which was very impressive, given the fact that it came out in 1993.

Being “the oldest” for as long as he could remember (his second sibling coming around when he was only six) gave Rex an almost innate sense of responsibility. His parents had been insistent on him to set an example, putting weights on his shoulders to “act well” in hopes it would rub off on their oncoming children, and then after that they only grew distant in favor of said younger brothers and sister. You can sometimes catch him on his off hours walking his sister home from school, or taking his brothers to a local skate park to smoke and to be there in case one of them break an ankle.

Rex’s interest in percussion piqued through friends being in the band programs, and after being annoying enough with household objects and drumming rhythms on any surface that would take it, his parents threw him a bone and got him a drum set (“to be played in the basement and the basement only”). He never really saw to make a career out of it, but when a local dive bar asked for a stand-in percussionist, Rex told a couple white lies and convinced his parents that it was at another part of town. Before he knew it, he was playing with musicians who had done it for the seventeen years that he had been alive. Maybe even more.

After a couple years through the wringer, ducking spotlights to hide his young-looking features from suspecting bar patrons and standing behind the adults whenever possible, “T-Rex” is better known as he nears his twenties. He gets some special attention just to make sure he doesn’t drink on the bar’s expense, of course, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get given shots under the table by the older musicians. Rex is still somewhat reserved most of the time, but finds that when he’s behind the set and with people who focus on him, he can let go of that strange innate guilt he holds close and start to feel like something other than an older sibling or a nameless percussionist.

If he had it his way, he’d stay in the glow of feeling what he understands as love for as long as possible.

CHARACTER TRAITS

soft spoken/cowardly: It takes a lot for Rex to demur or argue with someone. He was always the one being reasoned with to take the high road when growing up, and the disposition that formed in turn made him the same scapegoat in any argument he got into outside of the home. He likes to agree with people, and likes not being noticed or causing outward trouble even more. He isn’t shy to telling lies to get out of things, but that’s as far as he goes when it comes to retaliation. He usually lets everyone else call the shots and hopes he can find the silver lining if he doesn’t agree with it.

devoted/selfless: Once Rex makes a friend or develops a crush, he’s very loyal to their thoughts and desires. If he can help them, he’s almost too quick to jump in. He also will be the first to defend said person if someone challenges them (one of the few times he becomes rather intimidating) and is a very steadfast friend once he comes out of his shell and opens up to someone. Sometimes, it’s to a fault. Rex often wonders if he’d still agree or go along with some of his friends/romantic interests if he didn’t like them so much. He tries not to lose sleep over it, though.

reserved/repressed: The closest thing Rex sometimes has to self expression is his drumming. He chokes up when he gets into his heavier feelings, but then again it’s not often he lets those show in the first place. He holds them as close as he holds a lot of things about himself, but that’s no place to keep them of course. He speaks mostly through actions and body language if he doesn’t have the heart for talking.

coordinated/“straightened out”: Rex is rarely late to things, and when he says he’s going to be there he’s fucking going to be there. He’s been stood up before for things he’s felt were important (maybe it was his parents saying they would see him perform one night and getting caught up in something else...he’ll never say, though.), so he’s very adamant on following a set schedule when people make them or the thing matters to someone. He’s also big on setting specific times for things, and gets a little frazzled when people say loose estimates instead. He likes to know where he needs to be when he goes out, dammit!

idealistic/abstract: Rex has goals, alright? He wants to find his “home group” in a band, and not play for gross bar crowds for the next twenty years. How is he getting there? ...Get back to him. He makes rent money just fine right now, but he has dreams of finding his spot. When he falls into the lap of Complex Electric, a local group that is rather interchangeable save for its leading man, he quickly hopes that he might get to chase that pipe dream when said frontman offers him a semi-permanent position with him. Rex Langston & Tad Kennedy. Has a ring to it, right?

Rex is guilty. Of what? Good question. He wishes he could let go of his titles, his worries, and sometimes just about everything about him – and he likes to think that maybe he’ll have the chance to one day. It’s about time the docile drummer boy got to have his hands dirty, and then cleaned again like a tide that washes back out and takes all that was on the shore with it.

So basically Ark is a videogame where its generally Minecraft + dinos, AND EVERYTHING WANTS TO KILL YOU.

and since everyone knows that this boi:

LOVES HIS VIDEO GAMES.

The game’s pretty hard to complete on your own, especially that the game limits you on what to level up on, including crafting skills and melee damage.

Kenma tries to solo it anyway. WHAT A TANK.

So most likely, Kenma would introduce Ark mobile to Tsukki during training camp.

or rather... Tsukki sees Kenma and immediately got curious about the game.

Tsukki giving legit advice on how Kenma can progress his game, and Kenma giving feedback whether it works or not

Cue Tsukki getting the game not 30 minutes later, after trying on Kenma’s phone.

They’re both determined to get high level tames and a stable base going bc the amount of 💀D E A T H💀 within the first few minutes of running around is just a ritual to new players.

They end up buying the PC game so that both of them can cross-play.

TSUKISHIMA 

The moment Tsukki discovered he could tame dinosaurs in-game, keep them as his pets and MOUNT T-REXES; was the moment he got hooked.

Made it his mission to see and try to tame every dino he can.

He dies in-game because he wanted to:

Either tame a triceratops via clubbing/bashing it unconscious and ended up getting OP-ed (triceratops are high in defense, but slow AF, and WILL run you over once aggressive) OR

A Therizinosaur found him (they will ALWAYS chase after you for 💀 M U R D E R 💀 . they’re high in attack and defense but aren’t as agile as other tames)

Low-key made it his mission to get good just so he could conquer the two

After his _th death, Tsukki discovers the perks of crafting a bola after he was messing around the game to get a grasp on it.

First friends he made was most likely a Parasaur and/or a Pachy.

KENMA

Kenma pouring in 100+ gaming hours to learn how the game works, and perks. He prolly bought the PC game before suggesting Tsukki to buy his own copy just to see if it was worth it.

after his first death in the mobile game, he now makes a LOT of weapons and armor to defend himself.

He prolly gives some to Tsukki once they’re both in the server.

Kenma probably has more deaths Tsukki from exploring the map extensively to check what the good tames are.

He’s the one to make the base since he’s gotten the hang of the building mechanics in the game.

it’s a SUPER basic house, with all the stuff they need to survive.

He chooses his tames for the sake that they survive. He’s been using the bola ever since he got the game.

Has a Pteranodon when they start out so that he can scout the area without dying.

Tsukki is jealous until Kenma teaches him how to get one himself. 

Probably tamed a Megalodon (shark) on accident because he was getting fish meat.

He probably dies a lot from fall damage, misclicks, and high lvl alphas.

Doesn’t let Tsukki know yet bc they can’t put up a fight to tame one for now. 

Kenma knows that the Karasuno players would definitely go ballistic to get a FLOCK OF THESE BIRDIES.

He can already hear Hinata asking to tame one for him.

Takes note of it for now, and then... “wait... are those...???”

“I’m definitely taming you...!”

*Proceeds to get his ass kicked by a Sabertooth*
